My son is on the spectrum, and Chris is specialized in working through the issues that come along with autism (stereotypy, elopement, etc). We were going to a therapy center before we moved to OC, where my son would see a different therapist each day. Those clinics are fine for most kids, but we felt our son needed more consistency and someone who knew how to work with spectrum kids. He has made a ton of progress over the years, and I can't imagine what we would do without Chris.

The three words I would use to best describe Chris are experienced, caring and practical. Chris quickly identified our son's issues, implemented programs and treatment goals to address those issues, and continued to assess and update the issues and goals to ensure he was getting the treatment he needed. Our son looked forward to his time with "Ms. Chris" and my husband and I benefited from modeling the techniques she used in session at home. Additionally, Chris was extremely communicative. She didn't just deliver a diagnosis and treatment plan, but rather went the extra mile providing practical solutions to everyday challenges our son and family faced. There is no doubt Chris changed our lives for the better and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for help with speech and language!

She was kind enough to get on a phone call with me moments later to talk through what was going on. After that, she actually drove all the way from Ladera Ranch to come do an initial evaluation for my baby. She was so kind, patient, and easy to talk to. I never felt judged or rushed. She really took her time with us, explained everything in a way that made sense, and gave me practical tools, tips, and advice, that I could start using right away. As a mom, when your baby isn't eating well, it feels scary and emotional. After the evaluation, I felt calmer, more confident, and hopeful. I'm truly so grateful for her and would absolutely recommend her to any parent needing feeding support. The greatest Mother's Day gift was meeting her and finally feeling like I had someone who understood what we were going through.

We have been seeing Jane at Nourish and Thrive since our daughter was about 6 months old, and now,…read moreas she approaches her second birthday, it's incredible to look back and see how far she's come. Our daughter has very complex medical needs, including a history of TEF repair, vocal cord dysfunction, bilateral cleft lip and palate, G-tube dependence, and several other challenges. When we first started with Jane, our daughter could barely tolerate drops of milk, struggled to recognize food, and had significant difficulty initiating a swallow. We had worked with several feeding therapists before finding Jane, without much success, and the difference in her approach was apparent early on. Jane started by patiently building our daughter's oral motor skills and gradually introducing food and liquids at a pace she could tolerate. She incorporates a variety of techniques, including taping, oral motor tools, organza cloths, and different sensory cues, always adapting her approach to our daughter's needs. What really sets Jane apart is her resourcefulness. If something isn't working, she finds another way. If our daughter isn't interested in eating during a session, Jane will pivot to other developmental or fine motor activities so the time is still productive. She never takes a one-size-fits-all approach. Beyond her clinical skills, Jane is incredibly attentive, dependable, and genuinely invested in our daughter's progress. She is always punctual, takes detailed notes, stays up to date on medical appointments, and regularly communicates with us between sessions. I frequently text her with questions or updates, and she is always gracious and responsive. She has also gone above and beyond in helping us navigate complicated insurance issues and the seemingly endless medical documentation that comes with having a medically complex child. Jane is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced, and knowing that she has trained and mentored other feeding therapists in the area speaks to her expertise. But what impresses us most is her willingness to keep learning, adapting, and collaborating as our daughter's medical needs evolve. She is also wonderful with our 3-year-old son, often including him in little ways and offering us helpful developmental tips for him as well. We continue to see Jane twice a week, and after nearly a year and a half together, she truly feels like part of our family. Her commitment to providing individualized, home-based therapy has made an enormous difference in our lives. Finding someone who combines this level of clinical competence with such genuine kindness and dedication is rare. We are incredibly grateful that our physical therapist referred us to Jane. Our daughter would not be where she is today without her, and God willing, Jane will be the last feeding therapist we ever need. We cannot recommend her highly enough, especially to families navigating complex feeding and medical challenges.

There's something so special about the way she connects with kids -- it's like she brings out their best without them even realizing they're working! We've seen such incredible progress in Blake's speech, but even more importantly, she looks forward to every single session. It's her favorite part of the week. The environment is warm, encouraging, and full of positive energy -- truly a magic place where kids thrive and can be themselves. We as parents have learned so much from Riley and she's given us so many useful tools and ideas to incorporate into Blake's daily life. Her knowledge is invaluable! I can't recommend Riley and her team enough to any parent looking for a caring, skilled, and truly gifted group of SLP's. We are so grateful for their impact on Blake's confidence and communication!

We initially worked with her when she was at a different company, but when she started her own clinic, I knew we would follow her. There are so many things I can say about SLP Riley, but words don't do her justice. She is kind, empathetic, patient, full of energy, fun, and REALLY good at her job. She meets children where they are at developmentally and works hard to engage them in a very personalized way to augment results. Since starting her clinic, she has hired a couple other therapists and really wonderful staff. I would (and do!!) recommend each and every therapist at her clinic very highly. We love SLP Riley and her speech service dog, Waffles. Check out her instagram to see what I mean! (@slpriley)

I informed her that our daughter was recently diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum and that she was not going to be very receptive to meeting new people and learning new things. Kathryn suggested that because of her being on the spectrum that in fact may help her with homework as she said kids on the spectrum are sometimes more regimented with tasks. Unfortunately many weeks into the sessions we all agreed that our daughter wasn't doing her homework and therefore was not progressing as she should be. What happen next floored us. Kathryn spoke to my husband after one session regarding our daughter not progressing. Recently our daughter had seen her Pediatrician for a urinary tract infection and Kathryn brought this up saying this was surprising to her because in her opinion "13 year old girls don't get urinary tract infections" and also thought it was odd that our daughter wouldn't do her homework in front of her own father and proceeded to ask him if our daughter masterbates. She said it was something she was going to have to "flag". My husband felt she was insinuating there may be some type of abuse in the home. When I asked her to explain what a urinary tract infection and masterbation have to do with speech therapy she would not answer that and instead just kept talking over me about her speech therapy. I asked again and still got no answer from Kathryn as to why she brought those things up at all. We were left with the opinion that Kathryn feels her years of experience as a speech therapist has made her an expert on all things related to children and justified her right to ask about our daughters medical diagnosis and whether or not she masterbates and insinuate that her lack of progression in speech therapy was due to some kind of abuse. I would never, ever recommend Kathryn Williams to anyone looking for a speech therapist. Her arrogance in over stepping her boundaries and going completely outside her scope of expertise was totally unprofessional and absolutely appalling.

My partner was supposed to be referred to another office, but we have been going back and forth for MONTHS because the referral either wasn't sent correctly or wasn't sent at all. We were repeatedly told to wait a week, only to find out the other office still hadn't received what they needed. This should not take months to resolve. To make matters worse, my partner has dealt with Lily throughout this process, and she has been extremely rude and dismissive every time he has spoken with her. I have personally heard the way she speaks to him, and it is incredibly unprofessional. We called again today, and thankfully, whoever answered the phone was the ONLY person throughout this entire experience who deserves 5 stars. She was kind, helpful, and actually gave us all the information we needed so we could figure it out ourselves. After months of being given the runaround, it's ridiculous that we ultimately had to take matters into our own hands. At least someone finally took the time to actually help us. UPDATE: Dr. Lauren Davis personally reached and apologized, she had no clue this was going on. Thank you for the accountability and the apology. We are very relieved to finally be moving forward.
