Find an opportunity to eat from Let's Start From scratch. Order one of everything and you'll still be sad you didn't order more.

"I've had just about all I can take You know I can't take it…read moreno more I've got a gut feeling" (Devo) You get a pretty good idea of the Lucky Gut's mission and core values when you peruse their website and see terms like Community, health & wellness collective, vitality, alternative, natural, and the like. They occupy the space that previously housed a Cajun restaurant and a Japanese restaurant before that. We made our first trip to Lucky Gut a few days ago and were incredibly impressed by every facet our visit. The gorgeous space is broken down into sections - a kitchen to rent out or use for cooking classes, a marketplace, a beverage bar, and a community room to hang out in, relax, meditate, or work on your laptop. Their market sells local food and health products, and they have a big Grab and Go section of refrigerated and frozen foods. We found their pricing to be very reasonable. We spent under $28 for a pint of frozen vegetable chili, tomato bisque, a container of chicken meatballs, and a packet of chili mix. We want to give a big shout-out to Sara, who gave us a tour of the premises. It was an absolute joy to interact with her. You really owe it to yourself to visit the Lucky Gut and be overwhelmed by their Zen-like atmosphere.

Its name refers to a focus on healing for "leaky gut syndrome," where the gut becomes damaged/porous, allowing partially digested food to go into the bloodstream. (However, this isn't currently recognized as a medical diagnosis.) We stopped in for a cold pricey drink (spritzer with adaptogens that I didn't love because it tasted mostly like sparkling water) on a summer day. But maybe the smoothies are better. Everyone was very friendly and they've created a space that people can enjoy. One part holds the kitchen for cooking classes and health workshops (self defense, mental health, etc) that seem reasonably priced; one part has the store with prepared foods, a few pantry staples like eggs and meat, drinks and gifts (candles, snacks, jewelry); and the other has couches, books and a few games. There's a small parking lot right next to the entrance but there's also other parking nearby if it fills up - you'll just have to walk a little. Nearby are Grassroots, the Coffee Spot, a yarn store and Blossom Cafe.

We were able to bring our own bottle of wine to sip on during the cooking portion of the evening... and a second for the dinner portion! Don't expect to have your own station and make your own meal... this is family style and different people are called up to assist with different portions of the meal. I found Nancy and her husband to be so warm, welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the tips provided were great. I highly recommend this experience!

I've had food prepared by Nancy (the owner) before and always had my taste buds yearning for more, but last night I was able to step into the kitchen with her and take one of her informative, fun and very delicious cooking classes. I went with my team from work, and it was a great environment where once we all strapped on our Ginger & Pickles aprons, we were all able to "let our hair down" so to speak... We were greeted with a fabulous wine and cheese board, along with a phenomenal Brie baking away for us. We were given a menu of what we would all be cooking and enjoying that evening, pre chosen by our team leader. The menu was well planned, well written and not at all stuffy or overly complicated. Our "Valentines Day Date Night" menu included a wonderful beef tenderloin with a cream sauce, haricots verts with shallots and soufflés we made. So so so good! People work in teams on recipes and it really helps the evening flow. While 2 people are working with Nancy (and sometimes her assistant Brooke), the rest are taking in wine, Brie and observing some new techniques in the kitchen. Once one team is complete, The next team moves on to the next section of the menu. Before you know it, dinner is being played and served. Everything came out so well, it was as if we were dining out at your favorite restaurant. Nancy is able to answer all your questions and explain why things are done one way versus another, or give you ideas and tips on how to increase your own culinary skills at home. I will definitely be bringing friends here for some classes in the future.

The seasoned beef is rich and savory, perfectly balanced by the creamy, melty cheese inside. Every bite delivers a warm, hearty filling wrapped in a crisp shell that holds up beautifully. Comforting, bold, and incredibly easy to love. Garlic Parm Chicken Bites Tender, juicy chicken coated in a garlic-forward parmesan crust that brings both crunch and flavor. The garlic is assertive without overpowering, and the parmesan adds that salty, nutty finish that keeps you reaching for the next piece. They're addictive in the best way. Maple Bacon Mac & Cheese Croquettes These are pure indulgence in bite-sized form. The creamy mac and cheese interior is already luxurious, but the hint of maple sweetness paired with smoky bacon takes it over the top. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside--each croquette is a little pocket of decadence. Parmesan Truffle Fries A standout side on their own, these fries hit that perfect balance of crisp exterior and fluffy center. The truffle aroma is inviting without being overwhelming, and the parmesan provides a salty, umami-rich layer that ties everything together. Elevated yet comforting. Overall This entire selection delivers a mix of comfort, creativity, and crave-worthy flavor. Whether you're in it for the bold, the cheesy, the crunchy, or the indulgent--there's something here that's going to win you over.
