The next two years, I was at homestead camp where we built camp fires, cooked our own food mostly through the fire pit, and walked on a trail to and from the main camp everyday. The last year, I was at beach camp, where we could do our own cooking inside the cabin and we did community outings such as going to the beach in town and visiting residents at a nursing home. They had a beach onsite and where I went swimming all four years. There was also a chapel onsite, where us campers worshiped every day.

They are unbelievably money-grubby and extremely poor hosts! They don't allow you to have local guests, and in fact, charge you additional if you do! They watch every move you make and take a tally of anything you touch (for example, if you need to use a life preserver they charge you by the hour for something so ratty you don't even want to put it on your body!). Beware of this resort! It will ruin your family vacation!

I sure enjoyed the dock they put out for my stay this week! Connie and Bob Dickerson, Thank You.

The best part was how clean everything was and it didn't have the typical musty hotel smell at all. It seemed to have been updated recently with a nice teal paint color and wall canvases of the ocean. It also came with a microwave and good sized mini fridge. One thing I hope they improve is the door. It was very flimsy and I could see daylight through the gaps on the side. Plus, traveling alone I wished there was some type of second lock like a deadbolt or a chain, since the door opened directly to the outdoors. Overall, it's not a luxury place but I was grateful for a warm, cozy, clean place to stay.

It's not for everyone - (peeling paint, in need of some updates which they seem to be working on) you know who you are - but we had a pleasant stay. It was clean and quiet, the beds were comfortable and the shower in the morning was hot with good water pressure. If you like to support local businesses, there is no reason not to stay here. I would stay again. Good to note that there was a fridge and a microwave in our room, which we didn't expect. Not sure if that's standard for every room. They supply soap, but no shampoo. There is a convenience store right across the street. My only complaint - because I need to sleep in a cave - is that there are venetian blinds on the windows, not room darkening shades. It was plenty dark at night, but the sun comes up early in the summer on the prairie. So I rated this against all other hotels and amenities - but I think it would rate a 4 or 5 for the price.

We stay a week at a time. That is how much we love it! It's not perfect but where is? Staff are very friendly and helpful and are readily available throughout the day. Cabins vary in size and age. Some are very rustic and dated. Some are quite new and updated. Cabin prices for the week (Saturday to Saturday) are pretty steep in my opinion. There are definitely no deals to be found; not even for loyal, returning customers. Many of the cabins are pet free, unfortunately. Many cabins need some work on the inside to keep things in working order. Pool is very nice. Very beautiful lake. You can rent a very nice pontoon for the day or week. This year we had to compete with COVID19 and new construction as they are completing two new homes (4 cabins in total) so everyday we awoke to construction trucks and equipment. Not particularly restful or idyllic. Pool did not open until our last 2 days of our vacation (due to COVID19)which was a bummer for the kids. Also, for the prices you pay, you still have to bring your own towels and toilet paper. I think they provide you with 2 rolls to start with. Also, all of your own things like dish soap, paper towels, etc. you will need to provide yourself. kitchens have some basic utensils. Most annoying issue is the poor WiFi reception. This is an issue for those of us who need to remain connected even when away on vacation. I do hope this gets fixed. It does not seem to be a priority to them, however. The coverage is sporadic and slow at best. Thank goodness for cellular hotspots! Water in the cabins can be smelly due to sulfur. The resort is not particularly handicapped accessible as getting around can be difficult. The resort has a lot of steps in some areas and not all cabins are zero entry. Also the resort is set up from the lake. Every cabin has a charcoal grill to use. They also have a fire pit at the resort but when it is going the cabins can smell pretty smoky depending upon which way the wind is blowing. This is a great place for family reunions and general family get togethers. Highly recommend. Only downside is the cost. Overall, would rate this place 4 out of 5 stars. Again, not perfect but pretty darn close. Please consider a loyalty customer discount. God willing, see you next year!

Bob & Julie Schimerowski took over the long established resort in 2017 and did a complete renovation. There are six well-cared for cabins that accommodate from two to six bedrooms. The cabins come well equipped with kitchen supplies and are air conditioned. The resort is super kid friendly (but no pets), has the perfect swimming area for kids, as well as a pristine lake. There is an abundance of fish that can be caught from the many docks. There are several pontoon boats that can be rented by the half-day, full day, or week. All other boats and equipment can be used for free. These include peddle boats, canoes, kyacks, peddle bikes, and a water slide, as well as life jackets, paddles, etc. They also have many land games from badminton to corn hole, as well as many others. There is a central lodge with many additional games, as well as ice cream, and a washer dryer (the washer/drier have small charges to use). Bob and Julie add new amenities every year. I really appreciate their responsiveness to any issue, question, or request. They are very friendly, as well as professional. This place deserves six out of five stars!
