Before I begin this review I want to make it clear that this is a review exclusively about…read moretechnique and detail. Svetlana as an individual is great and sweet. Over the last few months I've continued seeing Svetlana exclusively for my waxing needs and we've discussed inconsistencies with my leg and Brazilian waxing. There have also been a few issues with sugaring my bikini area. On one occasion the sugaring was so rough and painful the skin was ripped off my bikini area (I decided no more sugaring after that ordeal) and my legs have had leftover hairs time and time again. Svetlana informed me that it's common when you start waxing again and once you've done it for roughly a year it will stop happening. It's been almost a year where I've exclusively waxed with her but there hasn't been a change. When I get home I'm still tweezing missed hair. I decided to ask her about it and she informed me that she doesn't have much experience with waxing my hair type. I was under the impression she did based on her many accolades. She was kind enough to recommend Natalia on JFK Street at another Skin Spa. If you have very fine/straight hair you won't have any problems when going here. But if your hair is curly or thick you may want to reconsider. Lastly, there have also been occasions where I've been accidentally overcharged for services. The first time I called her after noticing my bank statement and the second time I had to email her. The overcharged amount wasn't refunded but was applied to my next service. My quest continues...

I'm not sure who did my eyebrows, but it wasn't comfortable for a couple of reasons and the first one is literal - you have to kind of lean back, but there's actually no head rest. It's a regular chair. Sure, it's not for a huge amount of time, but really, it's not comfortable. Second of all, the person doing my threading was literally talking so loudly across the room to someone else over me while threading. The end result was just alright, but I did not feel like they was any kind of aesthetic involved in the final outcome. My eyebrows were made to look quite narrow all the way across. The 2 stars is for price and the fact that it was painless which I appreciate.

Her space is clean and calming, and she is nice and very professional. I just got a simple wax, but I can see coming back for a facial. A great find! Two things: * ADA Note: I didn't see an elevator, and she's down one flight of stairs. I also didn't see any handicap parking. There are a few spots in front, and free street parking. * Support independent business, especially when the owner lives in the town where they set up shop!
