I naturally have thick, bushy eyebrows similar to Brooke Shields or Andrea Brillantes, and after a waxing accident when i was 20 that removed almost half my brows, I had to get them microbladed because I didn't have the patience to wait for it to grow and it became a huge insecurity for me. Since then, I've avoided waxing and only go for threading. When I came in, I specifically told the staff to only tidy my brows a bit and made it very clear that I didn't want the inner part cut or the overall shape changed. I wanted to keep my natural 'Nike arch' shape, which all my siblings and I have because of our parents. I also warned her not to touch the length, especially since my eyebrows tend to look uneven when the inner part is tidied to much since they don't always get it equal. Instead of acknowledging my request, she seemed annoyed and sarcastically responded, 'Oo, tidy ka lang naman diba,' implying that my instructions were unnecessary. Despite this, I trusted her to follow what I asked. Instead, she did the exact opposite. She didn't even bother brushing my brows before cutting, and the entire session lasted only 2-3 minutes. She cut my left outer brow extremely short and the right one slightly longer, but still too short. The shape is completely ruined and uneven. To make matters worse, she didn't show any sign of regret or apology for the result. It felt rushed and careless, with no effort put into ensuring they looked neat or symmetrical. I'm extremely disappointed, especially given how much i trusted Brow Lounge to take care of my eyebrows and I never tried other salons to avoid this exact outcome but it still happened.

One of the uppity-looking places where you can have your nails done within the proximity, this nail spa has a very sterilized feel to it. Like a Dentists' office. I have a soft spot for sterilized things. It's an assurance of cleanliness. And the fact that they're focused on just the nails is always assuring instead of like a total parlor where you might get a really really bad ingrown. I stay away from those places. This nail spa is definitely not one of those kinds. Again banking on the loyalty of customers, they seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. Fab Spa is my go-to place for a quick pampering, because 1) the staff and the service are efficient and 2) it's walking distance from my in-law's house and I can leave the kids there while I have an hour (or two) of much-needed me time. I think the term "tiis-ganda" was first used by somebody who had undergone a waxing session. It definitely is no walk in the park, but it's nice that my therapist Ate Inday is chatty enough that she gets my mind off the process. The owner, Ms. Manel is very hands-on with her customers. I ventured and availed of their other treatments such as eyelash perming, hand paraffin, footspa, diamond peel and eyelash extension; for the classic manis and pedis,I would still choose to have it done by Let's Face It rather specialty nail salons, as they have the most skilled staff that would not "murder" (a term that filipino's use to use when the food is hurt or wounded because of a manicure or pedicure) any of my fingers nor toes. When it comes to pricing, I would consider them affordable even for a student living on an allowance, but I think it's time for Let's face it to start giving promotions again, especially now that there are a lot of skin centers out there giving a lot of discounts or cheaper service rates (well that's just one of my suggestion mainly for my own benefit ^_^) It would be nice to get special promos for loyal customers like me once in a while.
