Not that you'll find crazy rides but there's entertainment for kids with some rides, plus not to mention the lounging areas, the animals, and so much more. Came here walking from our hotel , you can catch a bus, and it was just beautiful. I highly recommend a visit. This can be an almost all day thing or just come for a few hours like we didn't.

After entering we decided to walk the path up to the park instead of buying a ticket for the funicular. It took roughly 10 minutes on a slight incline. Skansen was huge and does take time to go from place to place. Initially we wandered from building to building and many were not staffed or only viewable from the outside. While it was interesting to read the posted signs it wasn't too interesting. At the Oktorp farmstead, we finally found the first staffed location and got to see and learn about dying of yarn. Here we also learned which buildings were staffed and from that point forward gave us a plan of how to tackle Skansen and made the visit much more enjoyable. We had a great conversation about politics in the People's House which was very appropriate and compared it against present day in both our countries. Many parallels. We learned more about typical farm life in the Skane Farmstead while stooping low inside the house and that led to the Delsbo Farmstead. Delsbo was quite the opposite as it was ornately decorated with detailed wall paintings paid for by the well to do family per the staff. I highly encourage anyone visiting to engage with the staff as they were very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge of the period or activities that went on in that particular farmstead, building, church, etc. We skipped seeing all the animals they kept towards the back of Skansen as well as the aquarium. Overall spent over 2 hours here and likely could've spent more if more buildings were staffed and open. Glad the weather held throughout our visit.

Stockholm's tiniest statue, Järnpojken is "little boy" and he sits in a small courthard. He is only…read more6 inches tall, sitting on a small table on a metal plate. Different times of year will find him dressed in appropriate clothing for current events or the weather. Knitted scarves are popular as are sunglasses. The statue dates back to 1967 by artist Liss Eriksson and it was originally titled, "The Boy Who Looks at the Moon." Rubbing his head bestows good luck as does leaving a small gift. Entered the ice room that was created to the ice hotel that created once a year by all ice up northern Sweden. It's freezing inside and it's unique experience, part of it, you got to have a cocktail in ice glass. It's not strong enough to warm you up but you alway buy more drinks. I only last 30mins and I left. Definitely something to do in case you wonder how cold and how it is at the actual ice hotel. Yup, no need for me for sure. But really enjoyed the experience.

We checked in at the desk and the staff helped place our parkas on and also gave us a pair of gloves. Once inside, the room was small and crowded but it got a lot better after a big group left. The room wasn't all that cold in our opinion. Our admission included one free drink either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. It was served in an ice glass. It took maybe three sips and I finished my drink so it wasn't much. The decor was a mixture of ice blocks, some carvings and wall art. At least they placed some wood on top of the ice to create seating if one wanted linger. It was fairly pricey for such a small drink and if it wasn't for the pass then we would've skipped..

It was quite difficult to get service if you weren't standing right at the bar. I noticed that even a PBR was 900 sec. Most of the beers were quite expensive. I'm from America and PBR is the cheapest lowest quality beer. You could possibly buy. A 16 ounce tall boy is about three dollars in most clubs and five at a high-end club. Other than that a good time was had by all. I can always count on some interesting music when I go t Stampen. I was pleasantly surprised to see traditional country music . It's nice to see that they don't have any of that modern country bullshit and they stick to traditional country music bands that play music with substance . I've seen a lot of great blues and jazz in this venue and it's nice that there's a good variety .

We came on a Friday late afternoon around 5pm and most tables were taken but there was plenty of space to stand. The jazz band was already playing and the vibes were chill and festive. We ordered a couple drinks at the bar, I loved the revolver, my partner got the "something" collins drink and it was fantastic, really smooth and easy to drink. The bartenders were great, really quick to take our order and make the drinks. All in all a great little spot to hangout! But, if they decided to give it a good dusting I wouldn't stop them, hah!

Took a free 25 minute tour - very useful for explaining the history behind the ship and its unfortunate sinking - the Titanic of Sweden. The ship itself is breathtaking! Lovingly restored and hopefully they can keep it around for posterity. There's a nice film to watch that provides additional background. Great multi floor exhibits and viewing platforms for the Vasa. An almost 400 yr old boat 95% intact. The museum itself is keep climate controlled to maintain the temp and humidity. The workers couldn't have been more accommodating. The museum has an impressive permanent collection (pieces by Picasso, Dalí, Duchamp, Matisse, etc.). When we visited last week, I was really blown away by an exhibit made up of works from their permanent collection: "Pink Sails: Swedish Modernism in the Moderna Museet Collection." I wasn't familiar with too many Swedish artists, so it was a pleasure to explore this exhibit and experience art that was new to me! The museum is open late (until 8pm on Tuesdays and Fridays), which was great for us - it let us tag on a visit to the museum at the end of a full day of touristing around Gamla Stan. The museum is gorgeous, very modern, with a great gift shop, cafe, and restaurant. A really beautiful museum and well worth visiting if you're interested in modern and contemporary art.
