    Yayoi kusama installation
    Lily N.

Came here today mainly for the Yayoi Kusama In Infinity exhibition and was not disappointed. There were a bunch of interesting and very informative pieces, the installations were so eccentric! We paid a small price for this particular exhibition, but the rest of the museum is free which is great! The staff was also very helpful here, all in all a great experience here!

    Part of the main exhibition.

I'm not the biggest fan of their main exhibition, but the two times I've been to Moderna Museet myself, there's always been something REALLY cool at the temporary exhibitions. Way more than one really cool thing, even. In addition, the rooms are pretty and light (even when it's really grey and dark outside) and their museum shop is amazing. It's big, there's a great variation in sorts of art (paintings, installations, interactive art, photography) and I guess it's easy for everyone who's only a little bit into modern art, to like this museum. If you're able to go before mid January 2016: GO, as there's quite a big Olafur Eliasson-exhibition right now, and I guess it's really hard to not like his work. I was surprised by the variation in installations and the fact it has 19 (!) of his works, some even made especially for Moderna Museet.

The Museum of Modern Art is a must in Stockholm, above all for their permanent exhibition. This state-run museum is located on one of the islands in the city, in a building by the Spanish architect Moneo. Beside the exhibitions there is a museum shop, a couple of cafés and a restaurant. The latter has an amazing view for enjoying a lunch. Yes, many of the traveling exhibitions are superb, and where they that last few years have had some really amazing ones on display. The forte though is its permanent exhibition with some amazing works by Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp, Louise Bourgeois, Niki de Saint Phalle, Robert Rauschenberg (his goat with a tire around it's belly); not to forget Meret Oppenheim's "Ma gouvernante - My Nurse - Mein Kindermädchen". Many of these works stems from a bequest from the museum's first director Pontus Hultén. The permanent exhibition can be found both in the museum but also in the garden outside, where e.g. Niki de Saint Phalle has some amazing sculptures.

Stopped by this museum over the weekend to see what it was all about! Well I loved it. Extremely innovative exhibitions! Warm and welcoming desk staff and the entrance. If you're into creative art and want to learn about culture then this is the place to be in! Would have never known of this museum unless I didn't check all the wonderful reviews here on Yelp :)

In the center of Stockholm east to walk there. The museum located in a public park very nice surroundings.

What an awesome time here!!! If you are ever in Stockholm this is a must for sure. It may not seem…read morelike much but imagine a zoo and theme park all built into one. Not that you'll find crazy rides but there's entertainment for kids with some rides, plus not to mention the lounging areas, the animals, and so much more. Came here walking from our hotel , you can catch a bus, and it was just beautiful. I highly recommend a visit. This can be an almost all day thing or just come for a few hours like we didn't.

After entering we decided to walk the path up to the park instead of buying a ticket for the funicular. It took roughly 10 minutes on a slight incline. Skansen was huge and does take time to go from place to place. Initially we wandered from building to building and many were not staffed or only viewable from the outside. While it was interesting to read the posted signs it wasn't too interesting. At the Oktorp farmstead, we finally found the first staffed location and got to see and learn about dying of yarn. Here we also learned which buildings were staffed and from that point forward gave us a plan of how to tackle Skansen and made the visit much more enjoyable. We had a great conversation about politics in the People's House which was very appropriate and compared it against present day in both our countries. Many parallels. We learned more about typical farm life in the Skane Farmstead while stooping low inside the house and that led to the Delsbo Farmstead. Delsbo was quite the opposite as it was ornately decorated with detailed wall paintings paid for by the well to do family per the staff. I highly encourage anyone visiting to engage with the staff as they were very enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge of the period or activities that went on in that particular farmstead, building, church, etc. We skipped seeing all the animals they kept towards the back of Skansen as well as the aquarium. Overall spent over 2 hours here and likely could've spent more if more buildings were staffed and open. Glad the weather held throughout our visit.
