Sam and the other trainers really understand what they are doing and really push you to workout hard in each class but without being the annoying motivated cheerleader type. The classes are smaller so you can get more quality attention from the trainers and they also will help you with diet needs and have an "InBody" machine to measure your body fat percentage and measure other body compositions. The workouts aren't easy but if you are committed to getting better then this is the place for you.

At the Grind, you'll have coaches that are passionate about proper form and working muscles groups to fatigue. I have not trained like this since college. Additionally, the body scan is very in depth and can help you with your fitness goals. I'm also being personally trained by Kyle. He is certified in many areas of physical training and has his own app to track your macros, fitness workouts, etc. This gym is amazing and has a fair price. People here are of all ages and it is diverse. My only grievance is I want more HIIT classes times. The staff take excellent care of each member and make you feel as though it's not just a gym, but a personalized experience. The Y opened their new building a few years ago, with the latest gym equipment, amazing group fitness classes and a beautiful childcare area. I highly recommend becoming a member here, where you will not just be a number on a membership list. I can't imagine working out anywhere else! They are my Y family.

I thought it was very nice and could offer a lot. Going into my senior year, after over three years at this establishment, I still agree with those statements with a few caveats. First, three squat racks. Why? There are 40,000 people that go to school here. That is around 1 squat rack for every 13,000 students. That is a horrible ratio. I have waited in line for the squat racks for over 30 minutes before. That is time that I will never get back in my life. Fix it. Second, parking. This one is a little more specific but at the time of writing this review it is the summer. Why did I have to circle the parking lot 6 times to find a parking spot? During the summer, I look forward to the gym being empty. I am busy. I have a lot to do. It's just more wasting time trying to find a spot. A little heads up of the basketball tournament would have been nice. I'm glad that things are being hosted, but there are still patrons of the gym that want to workout. The parking situation isn't any better during the school year. Third, the strict no fun gym hours. Look, the hours here suck. Not just for the weight room, but for everything. The hours on the lap pool just down right don't make sense. There is a common issue with time. Time being wasted. Time = money so therefore money is being wasted. I value my time and this place is taking inconvenient amounts on it not for its primary purpose. Everything is like a YouTube ad. Like yeah you get to workout, but here is a 20 minute inconvenience for you beforehand. The equipment is nice though and it is better than paying for a Crunch membership. 7.5/10

John and Terry are very knowledgeable, warm, wonderful at what they do and willing to work with all levels. To illustrate this: the first time I dropped by Yoga Bliss I asked a friend to come along. I purchased a six class package ($40 for students) at the front desk with Michael (who was also very friendly) and it came with a free class for joining, which he let me use towards my friend's admission. We were allowed to enter the yoga room before class started and get ourselves situated with our mats (which they readily supply if you don't have one) while tranquil music played in the background. John came out, was profoundly welcoming and asked us about our experience with yoga so as to get a feel for how he would direct the class (similar experience with Terry, who even let me borrow his slip-proof mat after only knowing me for two minutes). Throughout the hour he was particularly attentive and willing to go the extra mile to help improve our poses/breathing/etc. Also, water was readily available and greatly appreciated. From beginning to end, the experience at Yoga Bliss is very rewarding and, most importantly, welcoming! The instructors are genuinely interested in yoga and have a lot to teach their students. So stoked to have found this studio so close to campus and a slew of great hang-out spots. I'll definitely be re-purchasing a new class package as soon as my current one runs out.

I was visiting from out of town and observed some things that were different from my home town…read moreHOTWORX. The saunas are very dirty. Hair and dirt piled in the corners. Also, it is in disrepair. Some of the doors are broken and the sauna temperature doesn't stay at the programmed temperature.
