Upon entering there are shopping carts and baskets. Take a rolling one (trust me) and get ready for a wonderful store filled with food stuffs that will make you swoon. The neatly stacked shelves are filled with things like chocolate, jam, pasta, tinned seafood, chips, and pasta are all neatly organized. Tags indicating country of origin (largely from Europe) are helpful. There are refrigerators full of charcuterie, cheese, and French butter. Freezers have ready to bake breads and pastries from a bakery in Canada. It's actually quite overwhelming (in a very good way), if you don't know what you need. You'll definitely see lots of things you want. The people that work here seem happy and are very helpful. When we were looking at chips, one of the employees shared his favorites. The best part of the visit was meeting the owner. He was enthusiastic and extremely informative! He told us that everything in the store was sampled and scrutinized for taste and quality. He knew everything about the products and why they were sourced. He helped me find a delicious arbequina olive oil from Italy and tins of sardines packed it butter. Swoon. By the end of our visit my basket was full! While the items here are pricey I truly think that the quality is worth it. Parking is plentiful and conveniently located just outside. The store is clean and well organized. Bring your own reusable shopping bags because you'll need it for all the wonderful goodies. Definitely returning! Pure electricity that took my friggin' breath away. I was overwhelmed as I stumbled around with my kid who also was in awe. The staff are fantastic. Eric is a master Jedi and was so thoughtful, energetic, detailed and soooooo fun with his descriptions, guidance and suggestions. I am was so so happy to hear that that this place is extending its square footage as well. (Thank you Eric for sharing and showing us the new space!). I don't know what to say. You just have to go. Imagine yourself in some great food adventure and you enter a vast other wordly cathedral filled with gems and golden treasure. That's Epicurus Gourmet. I've been in LA for well over three decades and its rare that I am frozen in my footsteps when walking into a new spot - but this place did it. A vast Disneyland of tinned fish, butters, pastas, meats, chocolate, spices, so so much more. Honestly, for anyone passionate about food and cooking, it may make you cry visiting this spot. Perfection. Go. Many thanks to Eric and the entire staff for making our first visit with you wildly memorable and deeply enjoyable. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Soooooooooo glad you are nearby!

The space itself is really cute and thoughtfully designed, with a lovely aesthetic that makes you want to stay. They also have a speakeasy in the back that requires a reservation and offers a set menu. I have not gone yet, but it looks incredible and is definitely on my list. The owner is incredibly sweet, and her son is the chef. You can really feel the care and pride they put into the food, and it shows in every bite. I love the variety they offer as a deli, and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. On top of that, the value is unbeatable. You are getting two incredible lobster rolls for the price you would normally pay for one elsewhere. I can absolutely see myself coming back more and more, and I cannot wait to try more items on the menu.

There's also fresh seafood for purchase by the pound. The last time I was here I bought the freshest Prince Edward Island mussels for just $10/lb. You hear that, overpriced McCall's? You could also order the succulent lobster roll at $35 (worth every penny) but we come for Nori Nights, every Thursday to Saturday, with two seatings a night to enjoy moreish handrolls with luxurious fillings like caviar and sea urchin. The ambience of the "hidden" restaurant is inviting and lush, with vintage charm and whimsy, like a posh speakeasy. We were early for our reservation and Leriza, the lovely owner allowed us to look around and take pictures. We will be back and can recommend this place to seafood lovers and home cooks alike. Go on, treat yourself. Life's short. You deserve it.

"Sunday, Monday, HAPPY DAYS!…read more Tuesday, Wednesday, HAPPY DAYS! Thursday, Friday, HAPPY DAYS! Saturday, what a day..." Don't forget about Sunday! Open 7 days a week in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles on Ventura Blvd between Cedros Avenue and Van Nuys Blvd. You can enjoy a plethora of options including gluten free and vegan ones from their milkshakes to their coffees, teas to ice creams, churros (the star of the show, of course) and everything in-between! For ice cream their Vegan Salted Caramel & Chocolate Ice Cream is incredible, my fav and first choice - but don't sleep on their Vegan Coconut Vanilla Ice Cream or Vegan Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream. Classic dairy flavors include: Cookies & Cream Ice Cream, Dulce De Leche Ice Cream and Vanilla. Ordering inside is easy peasy at the counter, but H.D.C. does use third party apps like UberEats/Postmates for pickup/carryout as well as delivery. I pop in now and then and most recently after dinner I had a nice post meal treat of churros to go. Water at their water and utensils area with beverage enhancers: sugar, stirrers, etc. Churro Ice Cream sandwich is incredible - best if you can enjoy it right away though I have order deliver twice this year just from craving that Vegan Salted Caramel between two of their delicious churro "bun" - best invention ever! Non dairy milkshakes all day! Though I rarely indulge in those extra decadent and rich dessert beverages - highly recommend you do. Seating inside is cool cozy but warm and chic. You can enjoy things outside as well with some seating. Prices are thoughtful, as is Happy Days Cafe. Open to all from PM to AM, see days for specific hours and times. They have someone deleting the bad ones! Here's my first and last experience with them. Was first in line to their truck right when they opened and first in line. I ordered the combo plated with sides salad and everything was so gross I threw it out after three bites! The meat they gave me wasn't sliced fresh or if it was it was left out overnight or too long. It was darker, hard and raw very and dried out. As someone who is a great cook myself, I know that this is old meat, and I'm sure the bacteria grew on it to make it that dark color and rubbery on one side of the meat pieces. The salad had no tase and wasn't fresh. I am sorry to have to leave such a bad review but I couldn't even believe they served something like that. I took two bites and I had to throw it in the trash because it was inedible. I would never order from here again. It's too bad the server or cook decided to serve me the oldest meat they had in order to get rid of it first. Meat that's so hard and old like that would not pass any food safety protocols.

Unfortunately, this is the only place where I got scammed! Asked multiple times & made sure the person at the meat section understood that I want goat feet, not lamb. Found out those were lamb feet when my whole house started to smell. Waste of not only those feet, also loads of spices. Asked if they have goat vuri (tripe), he said yes & gave me nari (small intestines). I had no idea a Bangladeshi store would even carry those. Trashed after thawing. Because it was a chunk of iceberg when he cut those & I had no idea. He knew clearly what I was looking for & yet sold me that junk for a lot of money. It is totally unacceptable & immoral to scam anyone (forget fellow Bangladeshi). Not only they lost a potential customer, but also now they have this review & I'll make sure to inform everyone I know to avoid this place. So many other Bangladeshi stores around there to choose from (I won't name any so it doesn't look like I'm either promoting or trying to denounce this place to help any other stores around). I hope they realize their mistakes & start fresh with better business ethics.
