With a simple Google search I found out that Caviar & Delicatessen sells cozonac for Easter, a sweet bread, traditional for Romania. I realized they are close to me and checked them out. Caviar & Delicatessen took over a Russian deli about 1 year ago. Don't know about any caviar here, now it's a Romania Deli with owners from my neck of the woods, they do sell products for the Russian and Armenian community. I called and paid $10 as down payment for a cozonac to place my order with the older owner, who was very nice. Went to pick it up and checked out the store. They sell imported items: jellies, spreads, canned goods, juices, soft drinks from Eastern Europe. A bit pricey, but they are imported, not their fault (yes, tariffs!). They also sell fresh vegetables, fruit, bread. They make desserts and many salads, dips (boeuf salad=Russian salad, hummus, babaganoush, eggplant salads- salata de vinete and zacusca, bean dip), prepared food- roasted potatoes , meatballs in tomato sauce, schnitzel, kebabs, fried fish. They also had drob for Easter. Everything looked fresh and inviting! It was fun to browse and explore the merchandise! Tables outside! My cozonac was big, delicious, well made. It was rich in ingredients: cocoa, walnuts, raisins, great filling! It is a very hard dessert to make, I am not gonna even try. But it was a major treat to buy it ready to go in LA and the quality is outstanding! It's worth the price because they use all the right ingredients! I got painted eggs, well done, the bean dip was terrific, the mititei (our version of kofta) were so good, meat well blended, all the right spices. You get them frozen here, a decent amount, we'll have them a few times. I never made them, but they came well off the grill, tasted like in restaurants in Bucharest. Ready to go back and shop more goodies. 1 star lower because of the service, the girl couldn't find my order, had to step in, helped other ladies ahead of us, even if we were there first! Service was slow, she forgot to take $10 deposit off my final bill. Had to step in. Also, I couldn't charm my way into placing an order for pasca (didn't know they make it) sweet cheese Easter dessert. As a first time customer I couldn't convince the owner's son, he was tad curt. Maybe too much on his plate. Live and learn, note to myself to place orders ahead of time. For non-Eastern Europeans - try their vegetarian dips, they are full of flavor and take home some prepared deli meals. They can spare you from making dinner! It's easy to try, nothing strange here! Glad they are close, high quality food, helped with my homesickness for my Easter time this year!

You absolutely can not overlook the famous red tower façade. To the left of this, sits a small shopping strip and in this shopping strip: you will see Monte Market. The signage font looks like it employed the same branding graphic designer as whomever is behind retailers REI or Patagonia, complete with mountain images; but this is no sporting goods store pampering the hiking and granola crowd. Rather, Monte Market is an ethnic market (predominately Armenian, Russian-Armenian) and being European (100% Hungarian) means that I ADORE ethnic stores and therefore I made a beeline for the Monte Market entrance like a moth to a flame. Monte Market is a relatively small space but they fit a large variety of goods into the square footage. You will find everything from dried fruits, nuts, candies/chocolates, teas, beverages, cookies, fruit syrups for seltzers (us Hungarians love these) lavash breads, and other dried goods; to fresh produce, refrigerated items and a deli and meat counter. You can find a little bit of everything at Monte Market on your list plus can order meats for your events (or just your dinner). The great thing about Monte Market is that in typical ethnic market fashion, you will find imported goodies that you don't see in our standard grocery stores even if from brands we are used to for example: Oreo and Twix cookies we don't have at Ralphs, tea inside matroyshka nesting dolls, etc. Also favorably, I've found that items tend to be expired at ethnic stores and covered in a layer of dust but that didn't seem to be the case at Monte Market. Another highlight of Monte Market? I was expecting crazy, overpriced items due to imports and being a specialty market and I was happily surprised to find that prices were VERY fair and even less than prices at a Ralphs! Even eggs which are in hot demand at the time of this review were cheaper than most other stores including Walmart. Very impressive, Monte Market! My only complaint with Monte Market is that I felt very out of place. Everyone from the employees to other customers were starting at me. Did they know I'm not Armenian? Was it because I was dressed up in a sexy outfit and heels? Even the girl behind the register whom I tried to start small talk with cause were were both wearing  cropped black leather jackets; asked if I needed help in a way that was obvious she thought I was trying to steal or be shady. Relax honey, I'm not stealing ethnic foods and simply browsing. Other than that slight hiccup; Monte Market is quite nice with a desirable selection of goods that is much better than the other Armenian markets in the adjacent area (which, for the record, also always give me weird looks as well so maybe it is because I'm not Armenian. Meh).  I suggest Monte Market up their customer service game. Despite this, I still recommend this market for your Middle Eastern goodies or to browse after your thrift store adventure.

This place is truly a gem shared with other businesses and has a nice parking lot for everyone. Prices are affordable and reasonable based on what you are getting. They carry selections of domestic & imported groceries including Middle Eastern foods. They sell ready-made hot foods, have an excellent choices of Israeli groceries, deli, dairy, baked goods, and more.. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Also have plenty of products to soothe the appetite of other customers who are not Jewish. Offers catering, Kosher options, and also delivery. This morning I felt like I was the 1st customer when I walked in around 7:30am in the morning. I saw 5 other people inside the store. I guess it was Sunday & everyone was still asleep. They have literally anything and everything from A to Z. I bought me Spicy Tuna roll Sushi, some fresh Salmon cuts, ready-made pasta, 4 pieces of marinated Chicken breast, Spinach & Potato Borekas from their bakery. Also bought a bottle of imported wine from Italy. Their produce department is super fresh. So is the meat department. 3 other things to keep in mind. They don't sell pork & seafood.Closed on Saturdays! They will even help you with the groceries to your car! So lovely and convenient... Established back in 2008 and still going STRONG!!! I grabbed some things I can't get near my home, including traditional Hamantaschen cookies to celebrate the holiday. I bought the poppy seed Hamantaschen from Antikovich Bakers. Ten damn dollars for that garbage. Hands down, they were the worst Hamantaschen I have ever had in my entire life. They were so bad I'm genuinely shocked they're even allowed to be sold in the United States. The cookies themselves were awful, but the so-called "poppy seed" filling was the absolute worst -- it was just a weird, disgusting paste with almost no poppy seeds at all (check the ingredients list, it's pathetic). There was barely any filling inside, and the cookies weren't even properly folded around it the way real Hamantaschen are traditionally made. Instead, the factory just slapped a tiny drop of that slop into a cookie that only pretends to be a Hamantaschen. It was fake news from top to bottom. The packaging was a straight-up scam. The bottom of the container curves inward, stealing about half the space so it holds way less than it looks like. Then they slapped a huge sticker on the lid that completely blocks your view inside, so you can't see how empty it actually is. The cookies are just staggered around the center like some cheap trick. Someone went the extra mile to design the perfect packing scam -- and then had the nerve to fill it with the worst Hamantaschen a human being could possibly produce. On the same trip, I also bought some Israeli Elite instant coffee in hazelnut flavor. The only good thing was that it was on sale -- almost half price compared to the regular Elite coffee and the mocha flavor. It was about $6 instead of the usual $12, so I was pleasantly surprised and grabbed a few containers. Biggest mistake ever. When I got home and actually looked at the bottom of the containers, I saw the printed codes. I had to research them online to understand what they meant. Turns out the coffee was heavily expired. I bought it in March 2026, and it had expired in December 2024 -- well over a year ago. WTF?! Why the hell is Cambridge selling products that expired more than a year ago? They slashed the price in half, which means they damn well knew it was expired and deliberately put it on the shelf to dump it on unsuspecting customers. That is a scam, plain and simple. There's no way to sugarcoat it. The attached photos show everything I'm talking about -- the pathetic filling, the deceptive packaging, the expired dates. Read the ingredients, look at the details. It's all right there. Unreal. By the time I discovered all this crap, I was already back home and it wasn't worth driving all the way back to the Valley to return it. So I guess this was an expensive lesson I had to learn the hard way. Cambridge, you need to do some serious soul-searching. Either start inspecting the quality of the garbage you're pushing on your customers, or do everyone a favor and go out of business.

Such a treat with crème fraiche, chives, and potato chips. I also bought a gorgeous spoon for $5! I would say to buy your accoutrements elsewhere (trader joe's is a hop, skip, and jump away) because things are slightly marked up. But for those specialty ingredients (the caviar), I think the prices are fair? This is the part where you take this review with a grain of salt. Apparently, costco sells the same size of caviar once in a while for like 53 dollars--so I dunno, seems fair to me.
