The Skinny Beet - Grilled Mexican Street Corn

The Skinny Beet

I hired Richard and Katie to come to my apt to give me an private cooking lesson. I didn't really…read moreknow what to expect, and when they asked me what I wanted to learn I told them I wanted to learn "some of the basics". Well in just a couple hours we were able to cover SO much ground. From making a delicious salsa and homemade chips, to a steak and a chicken, even farro with caramelized onions. Not only did I learn tons of REALLY helpful skills that I've already been implementing, but I had delicious food that lasted me for a handful of meals THAT I HELPED MAKE! They brought all their own ingredients and left my kitchen completely spotless (possibly cleaner than how they found it) I am so thankful to these two and I look forward to our next lessons.

When my husband and I first decided to find a personal chef we thought "maybe this will help, we…read morecan't keep eating out, it's killing us." Neither of us really knew what a personal chef service looked like. We love cooking but we didn't/don't have time during the week to cook. We hoped we'd get more vegetables into our diet at a minimum. That not eating out would mean less of the white devils (sugar, salt). I reached out to The Skinny Beet in a frenetic and desperate state last December. Since they've entered our lives the sun is shining, the clouds have parted and Mondays are happy (re: they are miracle workers). We have been a weekly client with The Skinny Beet for almost 3 months now. At the end of 1 month we reached out to them and shared a list of each positive benefit directly or indirectly related to hiring them as personal chefs. I would like to share this list with you (reader of my review): 1. My husband and I spend more time together. 2. We portion control better. 3. We work out more (have time to work out). 4. We feel better: less groggy, less irritable, more energy. 5. The food they make tastes flavorful, wholesome and satisfying. We get to eat our favorite cuisines with less of the sugar/salt and more grain/vegetable variety than what we know how to cook. 6. We waste less. 7. The brain space we wasted thinking about what to eat, what to cook, when to go pick things up, crap-I-forgot-an-ingredient --- Poof! Gone. Which, working full time while part time grad school, any and all brain space I can allocate to my work is priceless for me. From Week One: Flexibility with schedule and menu planning was made easy for us - We come home and our kitchen tools and pans lovingly (and somewhat expensively) acquired over time are clean - There are delicious dishes made with quality ingredients ready for devouring in the fridge. We are so grateful for the difference The Skinny Beet has made in our quality of life. Seriously, I wasn't kidding: Miracle Workers.

I was referred to Natasha Wellness by my Chiropractor after years of dealing with lingering upper…read moreand lower back pain. I was wasting away; gaunt and underweight, losing my mind, numb, anxious, and depressed. From healthy eating to healthy living habits, emotional intelligence and physical perseverance were some of the stepping stones in Natasha's wellness plan for me. I learned a lot from her mentorship and counseling. She caters to all walks of life and is able to adapt, pivot and provide accountability for anyone that wants to take control of their life. Natasha is extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, and empathetic to her clients. I made a financial investment in her services and my life, and it paid out in spades. A few of the things I learned in her program include: Emotional and physical health is one interwoven infinity string. A proper nutritional plan is critical to maintaining the dexterity and durability for your life's path. Gaining or losing weight is an attainable goal if you make the time, create the healthy habits, and maintain your discipline. Life can be hard, just find your middle way. A pessimist can transmute to an optimist. The glass is half full or half empty based on your current state of mind. Stay present and the rewards in not giving up are SO WORTH IT!

I recently started using Natasha's personal-chef services -- she cooks me 10 delicious, healthy,…read moreand fun-to-eat meals a week -- and I'm already a huge fan! She's been really thoughtful about getting to know me, my story, my needs, and the foods I like and dislike, so I feel super taken-care-of. She's kind, easy to communicate with, and delivers the meals to me by hand. And, yes -- the food is incredibly delicious! I am in great hands and really couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Natasha!

Sara's Cooking & Catering Company

I had Sara's Cooking and Catering do appetizer platters for an event for my company. They were so…read moredelicious. One was Mediterranean and other fruit, cheeses and crackers. Somehow they make things that stand out and "wow" people. Several attendees mentioned that they enjoyed the food, and that the food disappeared quickly, let's me know that is true. They delivered it and were so gracious. As I plan more events, I look forward to other opportunities to work with them.

Now this company has gotten to the point where they are making knowingly false comments to…read morethird-parties in an attempt to blackmail me into taking my reviews down. This behavior is beyond unprofessional, which was my grievance in the first review to begin with -- not that they made a mistake with my order, but that their response to their mistake was rude and unprofessional. There were several points since MAY this situation could have come to a peaceful end, or at least an end, period. They could have refunded me and the issue would have been resolved and I would have updated my review to reflect that. They could have done nothing, or they could have responded to the reviews myself and my family left, and then we all move on with our lives. Instead, she decided to make up factious stories for no other reason then to defame and harass me. I once again question how many people were bullied into taking down honest reviews because this company is willing to resort to unethical tactics to try and suppress bad reviews. I stand behind my original review and every time this business decides to take irrational and spiteful actions against me, whether it be through her lawyers or members of her family stalking my Linkedin profile, I am more convinced in my assessment that this business is unprofessional. Since Sara has already responded to my review and I've written my rebuttal, I personally see no reason to update my review or to write new ones. However, if she continues to slander me, then I will continue to update my reviews to reflect the chaos that she is deciding to perpetuate. I will, however, under no circumstances, take down my reviews. The facts stated are truthful and the conclusions I've come to are my opinion.
