Unfortunately, my recent experience with the front office staff and manager was extremely disappointing. I scheduled a postoperative appointment so Dr. Davis could clear me to have my dentist place the crown. When I arrived, Shelly at the front desk told me the doctor was unavailable and claimed she had tried to reach me to reschedule, but that I never called back. I explained that I had returned her call three times during office hours and left a voicemail after no one answered. I also received two additional messages--one text and one email--asking me to confirm the appointment, which I did. Based on those messages, I reasonably believed the appointment was still scheduled. When I arrived, the front desk staff was dismissive. The manager was even more unhelpful. Although I showed her my call history and voicemail, she dismissed my concern and said it "didn't matter." After I explained that I had canceled part of my workday and driven 22 miles from downtown for the appointment, she attempted to clarify that she meant the matter was in the past. However, no apology was offered. If the voicemail had clearly stated that the office was calling to reschedule, I would not have assumed the appointment was still confirmed. Instead, the communication was unclear, followed by confirmation requests from the office. This was my second procedure with Dr. Davis, and my first experience was very positive. I value the customer-service experience as much as the medical care, so despite my confidence in Dr. Davis, I would consider other options if I needed another procedure.

We have dismissed her attitude for a long time but the last straw was her refusing to call our new insurance provider to verify benefits. We gave her the pertinent info but since the electronic web-based app didn't work for her, we asked her to kindly call the 800# to speak with an agent but she refused. Her response, "We only do it electronically ." We were able to verify benefits with a brief phone call. Literally, it was a 3-4 min call. Obviously, it is too much of an effort to pick up the phone in order to keep two established patients/customers. That's fine. We will take our business elsewhere. Unhappy office staff sure can ruin a practice once enough people get the same inadequate customer service.

We live 5 miles from the office and it took my husband 45 minutes to get well enough to get back home. When he got back, I called the last office to explain what happened and get something rescheduled. I fully expected to pay a missed appointment fee. They decided to not see him because of the moving of appointments. It's "their policy" because we moved them too many times. He NEVER missed an appointment until today and when we changed it was with enough notice they could have filled the spot! If your sick- go in and vomit all over them unless you want them to cancel and never see you again.
