I had to comment on my experience at this Lakeshore location. I spent over two hours shopping,…read moreasking questions, and laminating in this store. I have never experienced any sales associate with as much patience as A.K. and Jackie. I visited the store twice within two weeks of traveling from CT. There were products I could not find and there was Jackie. I had trouble with the laminator and messed up a bunch of my material, at no fault to the machine or associates, but here was A.K. to my rescue. With such grace, A.K. took over 20 minutes to remove laminating plastic from my items so that I could laminate them again. There are several choices teachers can choose to shop. My number only choice is at this Lakeshore location in Scarsdale, NY.

I also went back in b/c my husband wanted to speak to Steve who's a also a Veteran and got wooden lego builder w/ colored pencils which I think I'll keep for myself, haha! The family I'm staying with also suggested I check it out. It's my last day here and I wanted to check it out before I left because I heard they have really cool old school toys (which I collect), cool clothes, and bras in my size! I waited until they were open but no one was there so I decided to walk around and come back a little later. Upon entering I was not greeted. Not a big deal though because I can be pretty shy and wanted to browse around. I soon felt uncomfortable; like I wasn't welcome but I brushed it off. It's a feeling POC unfortunately often feel when they're shopping in unfamiliar areas or shops. I wanted to give the woman at the register the benefit of the doubt. I found a cool harmonica that I wanted to gift my boyfriend but was being indecisive about what else to get I remembered the bras! I went to check them out and then I stumbled upon the sale section and that's when the woman at the register basically ran up on me. She said to let her know if I needed help with anything. It was completely bizarre because it was clear she came over just to see what I was doing. There were a few other people in there and she passed by them and didn't ask them if they needed anything. It was so clear in my mind that she thought I was trying to steal that dumb ass harmonica or anything from that janky store. The bras were overpriced, the clothes were honestly hideous and not for anyone under the age of 40. The toys and books were ok but nothing really jumped out at me. Except this woman. It was a very uncomfortable experience and when I went to pay for the items (yes I got the damn harmonicas) she gave me full on attitude. No smile, very condescending "you're welcome" after I thanked her. Just all around bad attitude as if she was the one being followed. I would beware if you are a POC. I didn't get the woman's name but she was probably a SWF, pudgy and had dark hair.
