Unfortunately for me, the new place is 25 miles further north at the Jefferson Valley Mall. This is as far as you can go in Westchester county because Putnam county is just across the street. Like most malls across the country, JVM is not doing great, with not a lot of tenants or customers and it just seems to be barely hanging on. At least their anchor store, Macy's hasn't bailed yet. I'm hardly ever up this way, but when I am, I'll stop in at WTH to see any new stuff (and to see the old stuff). The new store has almost as big a footprint as the Galleria store, but way bigger than the previous White Plains mall one, which got the wrecking ball also (I'm not sure if that's a good omen). Everything was moved here, every plane, train & automobile (literally) and even Barbie (but no Oppenheimer). John told me he has big plans for the new store and to check back for new inventory soon. Each aisle has a hobby specialty. The biggest proportion is in the back where all the model trains reside. Glass cabinets are filled with vintage Lionel trains and other well known brands. The Hot Wheels collection made it over, as well as the Barbie and Hess truck collections. But my main hobby focus are model airplanes and ships and their collection of old kits is pretty impressive. They get new old kits all the time by buying up old collections and reselling. This trip, I got (3) 70's-80's nostalgic plastic airplane kits that I've had or wanted since I was a kid. He is very knowledgable of all things current in the comic world, knows people in the industry, has artist appearances to sign books and will happily talk to you about any comic related issue you may have. He will happily set up your pull list with discount prices for doing so. The very large inventory of current and near current books, both majors and independents, are neatly bagged and boarded on shelves. You can frequently find the last ten issues of any story available on the shelf for their cover price. While there are not boxes and boxes of back issues in the store, they will always happily track down any issue(s) you need to acquire. The store also has a good selection of "kids" comics for the young readers. Additionally, Alterniverse has a large supply of all the card games, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon: decks, boosters and singles. And what comic store would be complete without the action figures and "higher end" collectables that are nicely displayed. The store has moved across the street from its former home and is very spacious. I am actually surprised not to see more comments here, as the store is invariably full of people all the time. There is a constant schedule of MAgic and Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments going all week. Frankly, I love this store and only wish I lived closer to it.
