I was given a free appointment the next day to resolve the issue. The appointment lasted around forty-five minutes with a friendly female tax advisor. The missing tax document was submitted to the state tax department online to correct the mistake of Block Advisors. A few days later, the state tax department informed me that there was no further balance as they received the missing tax document.

I asked if he reviewed our 2025 tax return (one of the key reasons for the visit) having had it prepared quickly by a chain firm I had no confidence in. He stated that not only did he not review the return as requested, but that his computer didn't work. Then he proceeded to make a phone call to deal with his personal auto insurance. I am not one for big fancy offices, but his office was an unorganized mess. You could not even see him from across his desk with all the computers (I guess all non working?) he had on his desk. We left his office once he called his auto insurance company. As the client (well almost) it was clear we were not the priority. He may well be a competent CPA but his actions elicited no confidence. If you are looking for a new CPA, as we are, look elsewhere.
