DO NOT BUY POOL HEATER FROM LESLIE'S!!! I really wish there was something lower than this. I could give them. Five years ago, we spent $4000 on a heat pump and a warranty. After one year, it began leaking. When I called Leslie's, I was told "we don't work on them" and to call an HVAC company. Not one word about warranties or coverages or anything else... Just "we don't work on them". Over the past three years we have had three HVAC companies and two pool companies come out and tell us they cant work on them because they can't get parts. Somebody finally told us that Leslie owns Jacuzzi pool equipment. When I called Leslie's, they admitted they did own them and that this unit was under manufacturers warranty, and I would have to talk to the manufacture. The lack of help was blamed on prior management. The manufacturer tells me they will only cover parts and I'm responsible for the service call and all labor. Just a warning. Only reason I am giving this location a 2nd star is because of the lady that was helping me. She was very courteous and involving. I came to pick up an order and I did see something in the store I didn't see online. I asked if I could exchange the product and the lady wasn't so sure and asked for help. Mr. Reese if I'm not mistaken said no (with his arms crossed) due too conflict with inventory. He did not try to assist the confused employee and myself (confused as well.) I hope whoever has power over him has a talk with him on his customer service. No one else was in the store is there was a process on doing the exchange he didn't not even offer. Let me first say, we bought our house with the pool 3 1/2 years ago and the very first time we walked into Leslie's on Hulen, they have been nothing but helpful. We buy all our tools, chemicals, and supplies from the location on Hulen. In chemicals alone, we have probably spent a few thousand dollars and typically just buy whatever the helpful staff has recommended and it has fixed all water issues. Maybe two years ago, management switched and it has been going downhill. I still walk in and buy my supplies, but today was the last straw. I hate to call an employee out by name, but in this case I have to ... I walked in by recommendation of an employee a few days ago as I was having an issue with my Polaris after I replaced it's tail. A different employee told me to bring it in and they would look at it as it no longer goes into the shallow in (which it did before I replaced the tail). The 1st employee asked I bring it in as he walked through all possible issues and solutions which I had tried on my previous visit. So today ... I walk in and explain my situation and they tell me the only person who can solve my problem is 'Robert.' I wait for 5-7 minutes which was no problem, put the Polaris on the desk and before I explain my problem, Robert says, yep, I can rebuild it. I said, "I don't need that. Let me explain my problem." I was cut off 3-4 times and never explained my situation. He just kept saying $260 and I can fix that. I said what if I buy all the part and fix it myself, he says, no you can't. I fix it for free. $260 and I fix right now. The attitude (which was not the first time or encounter with him) and the know-it-all really bothered me. I was bringing in the Polaris to be looked at which they recommended, not to pay $260. My Polaris was just rebuilt last year. My issue was minor and again, I was doing routine maintenance (replacing the tail) and obviously didn't put something back together properly, though Robert did not care. Good for him trying to make a buck, but this location lost my business forever. Even worse, I came home tried one last thing to fix my problem and BOOM, it works again. read more

We have utilized the quality staff at this location for over 7 years now and we've always been pleased. They consistently give us the right advice and we usually only need to bring a sample of our water in and they tell us what chemicals we need. For those of us with salt water systems, they can test your cell in a matter of seconds to make sure it's working. They also can service your Polaris cleaner. As a matter of fact I walked in once 10 minutes until closing and Jon completely dismantled my cleaner, cleaned it out, and had it working again...all in the time that someone else would have just said "sorry we're about to close". I drove 45 minutes to this store just to get some items. The employees were friendly, however when it came time to make my purchase they informed me the computer system was down and I couldn't purchase anything. I would think a company this size would have some downtime procedures in place so me and all the people in line behind me would not walk away empty handed. I will not be back. read more
