The presentation and service was 5 stars, food was 4 stars, but t the Jamaica juice was bomb! MENU: al pastor, chicken and carne asada. 3 different sauces 1/2 re fried beans, 1/2 black Chips Peppers Guacamole Onions Tortillas Jamaica and horchata Also, lemons, cilantro, plastic silverware, tables and table coverings They have a van that pulls up, cart comes out/in and it was that easy. 2 hours is a short amount of time, but that's all the time needed, even though people come late. I think they should've told us to have additional storage/Tupperware for the leftovers, because people forget that stuff. Needless to say, I would recommend their services. Not worth the cost. Would not use them again. Called to get a quote and booked for 120 guests. When they called to confirm a few days prior, prices were higher - they didn't clarify that tax wasn't included - quite a difference. Doro understood miscommunication and honored original quote. I was gracious at this point. The employees provided excellent service BUT we were extremely disappointed in the quantity of tacos available. They ran out! We had a total of 89 adults and teens and 22 children under 10 years old present yesterday. I went back through my list up calculate this number. (This includes my own family) - fortunately some guests cancelled last minute. We ordered food for 120 guests. I personally provided an extensive (A LOT) amount of high end specialized appetizers (shrimp empanadas, cod fritters, crab wontons, etc) and side dishes (street corn, salad bar) and they RAN OUT of meat for tacos. I host multiple large parties with taco caterers and this is the first time I've used them and also the first time ever I wasn't given any leftover meat. There wasn't any to leave! When I saw the amount of meat they were cooking, as a frequent host of large parties, I thought it was not very much but assumed they'd have meat to add afterwards. I should have questioned them immediately. All I personally ate was a salad I provided with a very, very small spoon of chicken because they were running out. In speaking to other guests, many were so full from appetizers and/or other parties they attended, they didn't even have tacos. Service and quality of food was great but for excessive price, the quantity of meat was not acceptable. (Their price point is higher than most.) I contacted Doro to share my concerns thinking maybe when they prepared to come my house, they miscalculated meat allocation. It's all that would really make sense? We paid $60 to add an extra hour of service (total of 3 hours) and Doro pointed to that as the potential reason. But that doesn't make sense - we had guests coming and going as they were balancing multiple graduation parties that day. I would not use them again. The overall rating of 4.5 stars is ridiculous. The review by Mrs. B. (she gave this company 2 stars) is more akin to what I experienced. My family and I attended an "open house" on Saturday (the auto care shop that my wife and parents go to just moved- my parents arrived half an hour after we did). About 8 pizzas from Little Caesars were provided too (I think I had 4 slices), but the bulk of the food came from Leslie's Catering. The event began at 12 (we arrived at 12:30), and tacos started being served shortly before 1 (I think some were ready earlier, but most people didn't arrive until after 1). Both employees worked hard, and they were friendly and fairly quiet (although they were distracted for a moment, I was happy at one point when they laughed and conversed with each other). The male employee was briefly grossed out. My dad was slow to give him a plate (except in the beginning, the paper plates had to be held down by the plastic utensils because it was a bit windy inside the shop), and so he held a taco in his hands for a moment (he was wearing gloves). I knew what to expect right away, but I was slow to hand the guy my plate when I first went up (he was very polite about it). The salsa chips were big, but nothing special. I mainly had about 10 because I was hungry (the chips were kind of filling). The condiment area was popular. A lot of people poured hot sauce over their tacos. So unprofessional! We booked them for my sister's baby shower and were given a final price. We called to confirm a few days before the event (because they never did), and they said, "You know we have a minimum of $600, right?" Ummm NO! No one ever mentioned that when we were quoted a final price and confirmed for the event. This is by far one of the best taco cart catering I have ordered by far! They are incredibly easy to work with when it came to ordering on the phone, setting up and serving my guests. It's a flat rate of $500 for 2 hrs of serving the tacos. I had the two sweetest guys working the cart and best service. What comes with the flat rate is the setting up the cart, they bring their own plates, napkins, utensils, 2 jugs of whatever drink you choose (the horchata and pineapple was bomb!), 3 types of taco meat, chips, salsa, rice, beans and guac!!!! It's honestly such a steal. I heard for some places once they clean up to leave, they take the leftover food and drinks. Not these guys! We hired them for a bday party and they were wonderful to work with from beginning to end. Doro the owner reply to emails/requests with a quickness, usually within a few hours. When I first started my quest for a taco caterer, I emailed about 5+ places and only two replied. One being Leslie's Catering. Shame on all the others that didn't reply to me. At least reply to say you're not available on that date. Booking was easy, you just tell him your choices of meat and drinks. He will confirm a day or two before the event. The two guys that came to cater our event were Doro's nephews. Both were very young but super polite boys and very helpful. They came before the time they said they would but I'm not complaining! Leslie's Catering came out for my friend's wedding. And obviously I liked it so much I had to do a review. Food was BOMB. I love eating Mexican food, and I really am picky about it. Let me tell you more... I don't like dry meat, and I'm not usually a fan of Spanish Rice. And for me to go back for seconds...AND bring some home. Let me tell you, it was GREAT. They had el pastor, carnitas, and carne asada as the meats. I really didn't want carnitas last night, so I just had the el pastor and the carne. And those were delicious. They had the plates for us so the first step on line was to get the tacos, then on to the condiments... They had the usual tomatillo, the pico de gallo, guacamole, and this (what I call it) AMAZING creamy chipotle sauce. Let me just side break and tell you about that. At Rubio's they had these shrimp tacos and I LOVE those tacos because of the shrimp, avocado, and their chipotle sauce. And Leslie's sauce tasted JUST LIKE IT. I wanted to take it all home. Like I need the recipe girl! So gooooood. Back to the table. They had rice and refried beans, chips, Limes, onions, chillies, cilantro (all from memory) They had spoons, napkins, and cups for lemonade and horchata. Okay.... So I attended a birthday party that Leslie Catering was serving their tacos w/ condiments, rice beans and drinks. At firsr I was looking forward to having some tacos. I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT!!! As, I was about to sit and enjoy my meal someone noticed a full grown cockroach in their chicken taco!!!! Now, that is just down right DISGUISTING!!! I KNOW WE ALL HAVE MISHAPS but than a baby cockroach was on someone else's radish!!! So this iasue was addressed and come to find out they just fumigated for roaches. Maybe this company is good but in my opinion now, hygiene is a big issue hearing this. I will NEVER use this company and don't think anyone at the party will either. They were gracious enough to take 59% off the bill which doesn't make up for how people feel now but at least the owner took responsibility. read more

We booked them for our wedding. With such a diverse crowd, it made sense both budget-wise and palate-wise to give our guests a lot of choices. When I first contacted them, I had a lot of questions (Are the rice and beans prepared vegetarian? Are there vegan options? Can we get quesadillas for the little kids?), which Doro responded to very quickly via email. The day before, they called to confirm the details (they matched our linens!), and asked if I had any questions. I told them that the venue would not let the taco cart into the building because of its propane-fueled grill, but they took it in stride and said they would set up right outside the double doors and bring a canopy. They arrived an hour before they were supposed to serve, and were super quick to get the grill going and set up the tables. As soon as they started grilling, guests started commenting that it smelled soooo good, and started lining up. As there were only two ladies, we did have a long line, but they did their best to serve quickly and continually replenish the sides. We had carnitas, tilapia, and veggie tacos for the vegans and strict vegetarians. We also had quesadillas, salads, and aguas frescas. The cantaloupe aguas frescas was a big hit. The important thing was that I could see that everyone was actually eating, and the majority of our guests went up for seconds and thirds. I know most brides don't eat much during their weddings, but I had made it a point to make sure that my lipstick would survive a meal, so I ended up eating a tilapia taco, veggie taco, and quesadilla, as well as a bunch of sides. It wasn't the best I'd ever eaten, but it was tasty, and sure beat out most wedding food I've had. When it came time for them to start packing up, they told me that they would save us the leftovers. If we hadn't brought containers, they would have put it on plates, but luckily, we had brought containers and bags. After much due diligence in selecting what type of food would be served for my wife's birthday party, I went, as usual, with my fellow Yelpers valued opinions! I called approximately one month before her party and spoke with Doro. I provided him all the necessary specs and booked for the party of 50+ guests. He suggested to call back a couple days before the event just to confirm, which I did easily. As for the food and service, I went with the carnitas, asada, and chicken. For the two included beverages, I chose horchata and the fresh pineapple juice. Pretty safe choices , even if you have any picky eaters, in my opinion. On the day of the event, I received a phone call approximately an hour before the scheduled start time of our party to confirm the address. It was not Doro, so I was a little skeptical at first. They arrived about 40 minutes before the party, just as advertised. The two gentlemen working our event ended up being his two nephews. They provide everything-utensils, cups, napkins, etc. They were extremely friendly, polite, and professional for the duration of the party. The food was a huge hit! The meats were extremely flavorful and the included condiments was the "cherry on top", if you will (cilantro, radishes, chips, salsas, guacamole). It was basically an all-you-can-eat affair! Each guest probably ate 4-5 tacos each. The beverages were on par with any of your authentic hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, which is a good thing. At the end of the night, he asked if I had any containers, as all the leftovers were mine, if I wanted. The answer to that question was an obvious "Yes!". All in all, $9.00 per guest ended up being a tremendous value compared to any other catered options out there. We had Doro cater my daughter's 1st birthday party at Coyote Point in San Mateo. I changed their start time 3 days before the party. Not only were Doro and his team early but they were so nice. They set up, brought all of the supplies (including paper plates, utensils, napkins and straws) and cleaned up. All the guests raved about the food. We had tacos (carne asada, carnitas, chicken), quesadillas, chips & salsa and juice (strawberry and lemonade - everyone is still talking about the strawberry juice). THEY ARE THE BEST!!! I was very pleased with their service. I would DEFINITELY use them again. I was throwing my daughter a Baby Shower for 125 people! I looked into catering services. Some were so expensive and the menus were limited. My niece had used Leslie's Catering and highly recommended them. I contacted them and Doro responded within an hour. I booked them and had questions and they responded soon after. They wanted me to contact them 3 days prior to the party to finalized the number of people and the menu. It was so simple I was nervous until the day of the party. It was all done through the Yelp messages. They gave me a list of options to choose from. You get to choose 3 meats from 10 meats including a vegetarian one. You choose 2 beverages from 9 different drinks. They also provide beans, rice, chips & salsa and all the condiments for the tacos. They also provide plates, napkins, cups & utensils so you don't have to worry about that. PLEASE NOTE: Bring containers to store leftovers because you keep EVERYTHING that is left over including the drinks. The day of the event 2 people from Leslie's Caterer came 45 minutes before the food was supposed to be served to setup. They serve food for 2 hours and then cleaned up. I left the containers for them to transfer the leftover food. I didn't have to worry about anything. They were very professional During the party people were constantly coming up to me commenting on how great the food was! They went back for more food several times! We hired them for our housewarming party. They were on time, yet they stayed a bit longer since people went up to them once they heard "last call". Fish taco was pretty good. I don't eat meat, so not sure about chicken and beef. My husband said chicken had crunchy/chewy pieces which he usually take out before cooking, so he was not happy about that. People seemed to enjoy the food. I liked their chips. Thick and crunchy. Horchata was good and whatever the other kind of juice was, people seemed to like it. Since i was busy mingling with our guests, I didnt get to try much else. Considering it is in Nov., the weather was perfect for outdoor taco bar. I think it was about 80F. People were trying to sit in the shade or inside the house. I am not sure what happens if it rains, which we did worry about a week before. I would hire them again. The price is reasonable. I think we had about 55 adults and a few kids. We ordered 55 servings and had plenty of left over. 50 servings would have been enough. They give you tons of chips. You will never run out. I booked them 2 weeks before my husband's graduation party. We were going for authentic Mexican street vendor feel and it hit the mark. The food was wonderful and plentiful. My sister-in-law from Guadalajara paid high compliments to how authentic the food was. I also can't say enough about how wonderful Doro was with customer service! The night before my event HE called ME to confirm I still wanted them to come because he had not received my menu selections via email. I thought I had sent it, but I could find no evidence of it in my outbox. I could have very easily been left with 35 people and no food, but because Doro was proactive in calling me he took my menu selections that night and all was good. The guests were blown over and liked the idea of a live taco bar as opposed to the usual Pizza and Cake birthday party. They were right on time (a few min early infact)- the 2 ladies were very professional, sweet and great at their job. They set up exactly how we had requested. The fish and shrimp tacos and all condiments were really good. So was the presentation- again- please dont expect a 'gourmet' service- at the reasonable price point- I guess this was the best you can get. Also they seemed to have an almost unlimited supply. They did everything and I didnt have to lift a finger The things which were a bit disappointing were- a) the Guacamole was 'terrible'. It was brown, tasted funky and just was not fresh.
