I was a regular customer here for 4 years and saw Mai every four weeks. I tipped around 30%, showed…read moreup on time, and had relatively few problems over the years. Unfortunately, my experience changed significantly over the last few months. After I came in with several broken nails, including one that had ripped off, I raised concerns because this was very unusual compared with my previous years of service. My nails were redone, but from that point forward how I was treated changed dramatically. Without warning, my phone number was blocked at the salon for two months. I raised the issue with Susie, the manager. At first I was told there was no block and that the problem might be with my phone. Eventually, another employee acknowledged on 10/3/26 that my number had been placed on a block list and said it had been done accidentally. During this same period, I found Susie's interactions with me increasingly short, dismissive, and at times openly rude. On one visit she raised her voice at me when I declined to soak my hands in a bowl of acetone. For years, Mai had removed my dip by individually wrapping my nails, which was a method I preferred and had consistently received. Suddenly, I was being told I needed to use a different removal method because they were short on time. On my final visit, I decided I was done with dip altogether and had my nails cut down and painted with regular polish. The manicure was completed in less than 45 minutes, and unfortunately the finished polish was visibly uneven and lumpy. What made the entire situation more frustrating was that while I was sitting there, another longtime customer named Suzy came in complaining that her nails had broken and that she was unhappy with the color and length and wanted Mai to correct them. That stood out to me because I had been treated as though my own concerns about broken nails were unreasonable, even though I had experienced very few issues in four years. At checkout, Susie told that Mai no longer wanted to service me. By that point, I had already decided that I would not be returning. I paid for my manicure and left. What disappoints me most is not that the business relationship ended. Businesses and customers can part ways. It is the way it was handled after four years of consistent patronage: the unexplained phone block, denial before the block was eventually acknowledged, repeated unpleasant interactions with management, changes in how my appointments were handled, and ultimately being told at checkout that my longtime technician would no longer service me. I'm moving on to another salon and won't be returning. I'm sharing this because longtime customers should know that if a service problem arises, my experience was that accountability and communication became very difficult very quickly. Below are videos of my attempts to speak with Susie and her responses.

I came in with a very simple design and who I think is the manager kept telling me to choose…read moresomething simpler, so I did, then she told me that would be too hard for them to do as well, so again I choose a third even simpler design that I KNOW I've had done at other nail salons easily. she was still hesitant on my third and final design I picked but said they'd do it anyways. once I finally started getting worked on, the man doing my nails majority of the 3 hours I was in his chair he was filing my cuticles and skin and it was hurting bad, he made me bleed in 2 different spots on my nails, and kept pressing the electric file hard on my natural nail so it was hurting and I kept trying to move my hand or blow on my hand bc of how bad it hurt and he didn't seem to care at all. then we get to acrylic and shaping which also took him majority of the time, the shape took the longest for him to do and it was still BAD I've never had my nails look so bad, and I've been getting my nails done for 8 years now. the color, design, shape, everything about it was terrible if I'm being completely honest. and since he took 3 and a half hours on my nails which he didn't finish bc I had to leave for work, you'd think theyd be perfect but it wasn't even close. and the manager kept arguing with me too, the picture I showed them had silver diamonds and she kept arguing that they were gold... even if they were gold in the picture, I'm asking for silver diamonds like???? idk it was just overall a bad experience. I had went with my mom for a girls day and I was really excited before how badly my nails came out. I was so upset about how they turned out I couldn't stop myself from crying bc that joy and excitement I had before walking in was just completely gone by the end of our visit. my mom couldn't get her nails how she wanted them either and her design was genuinely just an ombré from two shades of orange idk what was so hard about that either. then ONTOP of the terrible experience they still had the audacity to charge $150 for my set and $80 for my moms nails. And they did not follow TDLR standards at all, it was just bad. we will not be giving this place a second chance I don't know how a spot like this can stay open for so long.

So with the 10% off, it barely is comparable to other salons. I did not notice any drinks offered like every salons I've been to. I did ask for something to drink after being there for an hr and they offered a bottle of water. The pedi was very nice and thorough. I believe it was Kristy who was my technician. She took her time during my pedi. I'm the kind of person who likes the time pampering and not a quick turn around. If it's too quick, I feel a mani/pedi appt is rushed and not detailed. Since it was midday Wednesday, there were only 3 customers including myself. All the pedi chairs look new and it does look like they went through a renovation. Since I booked online, I do receive discounts for 10% off in texts. I may come back during a discount since the overall prices are more expensive than other places with no drinks offered.
