What made me reach out was receiving a bill from them for $400.00 six days before my one year anniversary of sobriety, a little anniversary present for me...so bad. Things weren't always easy, especially with what I had been through. I walked in on March 3,2021. I didn't know what to expect, especially since I had never been through a recovery program before. They were very understanding and loved me when I couldn't love myself. I had been through a lot in my life. I didn't just have an addiction to recover from, but I was still grieving from the loss of both of my parents. 2 days after I walked into Captive Hearts, I gave my life to God and that's when the healing really began. Since May of 2022, getting back into society was a challenge, but using the skills that I was taught, reading my Bible and praying everyday, has helped me. I highly recommend Captive Heats for recovery. I wouldn't be where I am at today, if it wasn't for the program and the love I received.

They refused to take it back. A damaged nearly unusable item because the policy is NO REFUNDS. hey, I didnt simply change my mind, decide I didnt like the style, etc. The bag isn't worth $2 as its damaged/broken/beyond its usable life. BUYER BEWARE....INSPECT ALL OF YOUR ITEMS VERY CAREFULLY AS THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. ....photos below. Bought a beautiful Coach tote bag ($30) here, along with an additional $150 worth of items. Not typical thrift store prices....expensive. More like what I'd spend at a brand new retail store, except for the name brand items like Coach. But its a good cause so just this one time. Long story short, 6 days later when I transfer my current purse contents to this new tote I notice that although the bag portion is in perfect shape, the straps are very worn in four spots and I dont think the bag can last through even a month of use. BUT, no returns, exchanges or refunds! Which makes sense if a person had simply 'changed their mind' about the purchase. But in this case, the bag is basically broken, unusable, of poor quality due to the extensive damage to the straps. I guess the straps could be repaired by a cobbler, given the time trouble and cost to do so. But it seems reasonable that a thrift store selling a purse for $30 dollars would make good on the item being usable/presentable. I could buy a new leather tote at Target for $30 that would last for years. This bag is a beautiful purse, but only if its actually usable. Needless to say, I can never shop here again ---- not when they sell OVERPRICED DAMAGED ITEMS and refuse to make it right. Pity.

I see an NP who operates under the main doctor at this practice. She is seemingly kind and listens…read moreto what I have to say. Then, proceeds to suggest medications for me that I have already informed her I can not tolerate the side effects of. When I do know of a medication that has helped me in the past, and inform her of the medication and its usefulness, she refuses to prescribe it. Instead, she will try every other medication, none of which are helpful, and some of which cause worse side effects, worsening the issue. Also, she has what seems like an obsession with journaling, which could have some usefulness for some, but in my case, I beat myself up if I don't make consistent daily entries, then feel guilty, and then start shutting down. I relayed all of that to her, and she just ignored my experience with this tool in the past, and how it made me even worse. If you like someone smiling and seemingly nice on the surface, but who works to undermine your confidence in what you know about yourself, your condition, and what helps your condition, because they have favorite modes of doing things and favorite meds that they will shove down your throat. Then, this place is for you!

So impressed and grateful for Alan's expertise......Alan visited our house to evaluate the…read moresituation for our mother (86 yrs old, CHF, COPD) and our brother (spina bifida, paraplegic, short bowel syndrome) and he was so kind, caring, sensitive and informative. My mother was at French Hospital (4 days), followed by a stay at the Mission View skilled nursing facility (3 weeks). We asked Alan to come to the home to evaluate the environment, make suggestions about improvements, and give us expert information about what other services may be available to us and services which might benefit us. Based on Alan's understanding of the local offerings, he was able to point us in the right direction and offer his personal follow-up. His experience and expertise were EXACTLY what we needed to bring our mother home and continue her care as well as improve the living conditions for our brother. We were so impressed with Alan's expertise and compassion - my sister wrote a recommendation to the social workers at French Hospital to be sure to include Alan's business as a resource for those in our situation. He fills a HUGE gap in the adventure of taking great care of elderly, or invalid relatives.
