I am now basing my judgement of her service by comparing it to the help we have since received that has worked well in saving our marriage and strengthening our relationship. The difference is the new MFT has displayed objectivity and jumped to focusing on the accountability of our own actions (my actions and my husband's actions, how we each are accountable for ourselves and our own actions/reactions), whereas Gantt seemed to sit back, watch things fall apart, and take sides as she saw fit. After we visited her a couple times, I began to have panic attacks (which is not her fault perse, but I was feeling vulnerable and I had never had one my entire life), and the marriage began to feel hopeless. There were things that she said that made both of us feel defensive and belittled. Seemed be more damage than repair under her care.

(A pre-license professional is in the process of meeting the requirements to become a licensed practitioner. They may see clients under the supervision and guidance of licensed therapists.) My son was going through a depression that I was very concerned about. I contacted Lisa via e-mail and she got back to me with an appt time for my son. He made it to the first (intake) appt. In the first appt. where they are just getting to know each other and trying to figure things out. She already diagnosed him in that first session with Anxiety. Ok, the next 2 - 3 appts she made with my son, she never showed up. The first time she flaked, he called her and she called and rescheduled it for the following week. Another no show. After that my son was very disheartened! He was done with counseling! Some scary things happened with him which I will not go into but I finally was able to find him another counselor that he would try! Come to find out, If your son or daughter is 18 or over you cannot legally make an appt. for your son/daughter. They have to reach out themselves! Found a great place that has been working out so very well. Thank God. I hate to bad mouth anyone but the repercussions from her flakiness had some scary backfires. Not to say all the blame is hers but this could have been handled so much more professionally!! She could have called us back after all the numerous messages!
