With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

Most restaurants offer the same tapas selection so places tend to show their distinction with other things like drinking etc. service is a bit slow as they only had two servers but you're usually not in a hurry sitges.

We had traveled from the US to finalize all details on a prior trip and everything seemed squared away. The day of the dinner came and the actual dinner was converted to a "standing happy hour" without our consent. The staff hid the chairs in back of the tables against the wall so all guest didn't have access to it. I had a pregnant guest part of my bridal party that obtained a chair and they told her she could not sit and had to stand. The service was atrocious and as the couple we were embarrassed for this treatment because the dinner was to show our appreciation to our guest . Also it came with a hefty price tag. We complained and all they did was bring the chairs to the front of the tables and offered an extra drink at the end. It was awful and a waste of money. The staff needs to learn to be more understanding and solution driven. DO NOT DINE HERE. Pretty views but not worth the hassle.

Villa Marina outdoor tables have views right to the sea. Having spent two weeks eating mostly Spanish and Catalan fare, an Italian and pasta dinner was a nice change for us. Luckily we had reservations and walked past the waiting line that wanted our outdoor table of six. We shared a number of starters including Foie gras de pato, Aguacate con mozzarella y tomate, Aguacate con gambas y salsa rosa, Roast beef de ternera poco hecho and Paté. No complaints from anyone at the table! Most of us enjoyed our own pasta dishes. I had a fairly good Ravioli con setas Ceps y queso parmigiano (Porcini mushroom ravioli). The Ravioli a la Sorrentina was also pretty tasty. In the end, I probably should've ordered the Fettuccine con gambas which had delicious shrimp, chop garlic and Chardonnay sauce. That tasted even better. A couple of us tried the Tarta Tatin de Manzana dessert, which was a delicious caramelized apple tart, with vanilla ice cream added per request. A nice end to our dinner. Services was ok, nothing special. We had to wave down sometimes, and watched as the servers had a lot of tables to cover. In sum, our Italian dinner wasn't the best in town, but nothing could beat Villa Marina's relaxing beachfront ambiance.

We stopped by for an early dinner on the way back from Balmins Beach (review: https://yelp.to/F-TbPoCgez) when the sun was starting to set. Located on the promenade east of the Church of Sant Bartomeu, it was a refined looking space that looked most inviting. Beating the dinner rush, we were seated quite comfortably in the front terrace. There was just one industrious server covering the entire terrace, but she managed to meet our dining needs with aplomb. We started by splitting the 9,50€ Pirate Salad (Ensalada el Pirata). It was a refreshing mix of mesclun lettuce, peeled orange slices, walnuts and Parmesan cheese shavings drizzled with balsamic (photo: https://yelp.to/8nsdJkJTrN). We went our separate ways with our pasta entrees. Jamie was excited by the 14€ Rigatoni alla Puttenesca as he loves puttenesca sauce. It came with capers, black olives, and a light tomato sauce (photo: https://yelp.to/Z8bg0FJpU8). He pronounced it as delicious, and I concurred. I went for the heartier 16€ Lasagna Bolognese, which was a meatier lasagna baked with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese gratin (photo: https://yelp.to/7WLeM1ON0-). It was their most popular pasta dish, and I could see why as it was quite a meal on its own. We shared a light side dish, the 12€ White Asparagus from Navarra, four thick spears that were gone all too quickly (photo: https://yelp.to/d8WbuAF2kq). In the middle of our meal, we even received a complimentary plate of fettuccine in a peppery cream sauce (photo: https://yelp.to/jBWrdaJhE-). Given our huge intake of carbs, we demurred on what probably were deliciously decadent desserts. We jealously saw the tiramisu pass by. Don't be too impressed though. We knew we had something big and tropical ahead of us at our favorite bar, Parrots. The vloggers were right.
