Visited here for the first time yesterday. There was no wait to be seated. The staff person who took my order was helpful but he mistakenly brought out the incorrect side dish That may have been due to the language barrier which is understandable. We also never received bread when we sat down. Eventually an English speaking staff person came to assist us. He was very nice and friendly. He brought bread when we requested it and he occasionally came to check on us to make sure that we were good to go. I ordered the Lorraine quiche and a side salad but I ended up with the French fries side instead. I also had a cappuccino. Everything I ate tasted good. read more

We had a quick lunch at this charming little restaurant on the premises of Monet's Garden at Giverny. The place is much larger than it appears from the front. We went there at the recommendation of our tour guide, who assured us the food and service were good. He was right. The menu has plenty of choices, but we went with something that could be served without much preparation. We had quiche Lorraine and fries (salad was also an option). This turned out to be an ample and inexpensive choice. We sat outdoors in the back garden, which was lovely. read more

The location is amazing but the food is average and the coffee is horrible. The portion is nice and the service is great. But besides the baguette, the rest of the dishes are okay. French fried is very overly fried. The quiche is slightly burned. The salad is very plain with mustard dressing. My omelette is huge but it's not delicious read more

What a nice place for lunch! Right across from the Monet's house. The outdoor sitting is amazing! An English speaking waitress explained the menu. The food was great! Cute cafe, conveniently right across the street from the Monet gardens. Surprisingly good pastries, but it was way overpriced. THE SERVICE: Fast service. We were in and out in ten minutes. Staff spoke English, they had English menus, and of course all the clientele were tourists who'd visited the Monet gardens (though the food was still good!). THE WAIT: No wait on a Thursday at 11:30am, really just a couple tables besides us had customers. THE COST: 25€. Very pricey. THE FOOD: * Cappuccino - 3.5 stars Very sweet, tons of thick whipped cream and cocoa on top. * Apple pie - 4 stars Beautifully made with thin slices of apple. By American standards probably more of a tart (no filling) but still really nice. Served cold. * Tarte tatin - 4 stars Nice, much more sweet than the Apple pie. My family and I stopped by Les Nymphéas since it was by Monet's Garden. We ordered the quiche lorraine, salad, duck, and omelet. The portions were too large and heavy, even when judged by American standards, and the food did not seem fresh. Location-wise, it's a convenient tourist spot and stays open longer than other restaurants, but the food is not great. read more

Went for lunch after touring moneys house and gardens. The restaurant offers outdoor seating and indoor, i'd highly recommend the outdoor seatings if the weather permits (though beware that you will be seated among smokers). The restaurant offers some typical Normandie dishes and we got some quiche Lorraine - they were delicious and you could taste that they were homemade - the crème was soft and the crust was not too thick. The portions were just right! The rest of our party ordered steak with veggies and a fish platter with risotto. Both of those were delicious as well. This place is an embarrassment to French cooking. We got a croque monsieur. It was literally processed cheese, packaged ham on sliced white bread for 9 euros. I can make a better grill cheese than this place. Just avoid. You're being ripped off cuz you're next to monet gardens with zero attempts to make it remotely decent. After a beautiful stroll through Monet's gardens and home, walked over to the cafe for a late lunch. A cute cottage like building took us to the back courtyard where they had patio seating. The food was basic offerings of sandwiches, quiches, salads, and desserts. It was a beautiful sunny day so ambiance was 5 stars. Food was hit or miss 4 stars. If you see andouille type of local sausage/ham, avoid that. Tastes like bad breath. I think it's made from intestine. Service was a rude male server who ignored us most of the time. And when he did pay us attention, he rushed us and spoke very rudely. He only brought one pitcher of water for a table of 7 people and despite asking politely for refills, he never obliged. I think the French don't refill water since we had this same problem every where we dined. I am sure France, and especially this little town of Giverny doesn't care about Yelp reviews but thought I'd post anyhow. Also, they live up to their reputation of being rude to Americans or foreigners who aren't fluent in French. Not many choices to dine in this little town so it was sufficient. read more

J'ai déjeuné dans ce restaurant qui se trouve en face de la maison de Monet à Giverny. J'y ai passé un très bon moment (idéal à vrai dire pour se changer les idées entre deux révisions). Je me suis regalée avec une rillette de saumon en entrée (qu'on a partagé à deux, suffisant pour mettre en appétit), un filet mignon au cidre en plat (ma pote a pris une tartine normande et pour moi qui n'aime pas l'andouillette j'ai trouvé ça bon et surprenant) et une coupe de sorbet maison (un délice et chacune sa coupe de parfum). D'ailleurs le sorbet pamplemousse un régal et les glaces sont une des spécialités de la maison. En fait j'ai passé un très bon moment avant d'aller visiter les jardins et la maison de Monet, et je le conseille de le faire entre amis, en famille ou en amoureux (c'est ultra romantique les gars et ça vous fera marquer des points auprès de votre belle). I feasted with rillettes of salmon coming (we shared two, enough to whet your appetite), a filet mignon dish cider (my friend took a slice for Norman and me who does not the sausage I found it good and surprising) and a cup of house's sherbet (delicious and each section of its fragrance). Besides the grapefruit sorbet and ice cream a treat is a specialty of the house. "Conveniently" located right across from the entrance to Monet's house in Giverny, this place could easily disappoint you and not care, as they have the winning card of location, location, location. But it operates like many brasseries in France: delicious daily specials that change daily or weekly, good service, and a nice open-air terrace. Prices are also quite good (cheaper than most Parisian equivalents) given its convenient location to the museums. read more

HORRIBLE! Wish I had listened to all the bad review on here- don't be fooled by the pretty garden. Overpriced food, bad quality, and a very rude manager. They claim that their veggies and fruits are from the garden but when I walked by the kitchen I saw that everything was prepackaged. Stopped for the lunch after our visit to the Gardens. Our main course salads, hot goat cheese and salad of the farm, were very tasty and good size. We didn't like the manager or hostess, don't know exactly, attitude. We were seated close to the entrance and had chance to witness. read more

We finished a wonderful visit to Monet's garden with an also great lunch at Nympheas. The staff was very kind, helpful. They even provided an eletric outlet so I could recharge my phone. The restaurant is very beautiful, full of Monet flowers. Great view. The food was amazing, very tasteful. Not expensive. Great place! read more

So many restaurants near touristic spots are just a disappointment. NOT here. They have a good menu, fresh food, friendly service and a special if the day. Honest food for an honest price. I would go back. read more

I must say I enjoyed the food. The prices were very good as well, I am new to Giverny but what a lovely city with nice people. If you are looking for a good atmosphere and some rich history eat here and go look at Monet house after! read more
