He quickly realized we didn't speak French and made time to come over and introduce himself, then went over the all french menu for us in English. The food is great, however he told us multiple times if we didn't like something to let him know and he would get us something we did like. At the end of the meal he even offered us an umbrella as it was raining outside. Stand up hospitality. The restaurant itself is very cozy inside. We sat in front of the window and got in some good people watching. Nice wine list and even some awesome local craft beers. Food was spectacular and at a good price. All locals here. Because of Remi and his wife though, we never felt like "tourists," or out of place. As one review mentioned, don't let the lack of reviews deter you from coming here. Truly a one of a kind experience!

Let's just say the service was... creatively chaotic. Clearing plates felt like a weird game of Jenga--someone's always taking something away at the wrong time . But the real kicker? A friend had her wedding there. And instead of owning their poor timing and organization, they actually told us--a group of Asians--that we "don't know how to eat Michelin" or "understand French dining" because we didn't finish our food. Oh honey, no. We didn't finish because: · The salmon tuna tartare was basically grocery-store smoked salmon playing dress-up. · The steak was tougher than my grandpa's cowboy boots--shredded like confetti... in my teeth. · And the soufflé? Tasted like someone mistook the rosemary branch for the whole plant. They tried to come for our manners... while serving disrespect and dried-out beef. Sorry, not sorry--we know bad food when we taste it. The wine was good (it's Bordeaux, so even they can't mess that up), and the location is cute... but if you want to avoid a side of prejudice with your overcooked steak... maybe skip this one. Yours truly, Still hungry (and still offended)

Situated on…read moreone of the main streets in Saint Emilion, we were immediately drawn to the menu, which focused on local and seasonal dishes. On that beautiful spring Tuesday, we were able to sit on an outdoor covered table, breathing the extraordinarily beautiful and full St. Emilion air. We were a little early at noon, but the restaurant began to fill up as we shifted into standard lunchtime. We chose local wine by the glass, and went with the entree/plat prix fixe. I started with the foie gras, which was creamy, a large portion, and sprinkled with flecks of salt. My husband went with the butternut squash soup, which had a seared piece of foie gras right in the center. Both were really great. For my main course, I chose the entrecote (steak), which came with fries and a little salad. It was another huge portion that I couldn't finish. My husband had the duck breast with apples and eggplant, a seemingly strange combination that worked really well when executed. He also helped me eat some of the steak, because isn't marriage all about teamwork?
