The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is beautifully centralized amongst various coffee shops, restaurants and sweets. I loved smelling the fresh bread upon leaving the hotel every morning. On our first day out, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful sounds of the accordion right in front of the hotel -- what a warm welcome to Paris.
However, being someone who has traveled and has stayed in various hotels, this one was not my favorite in terms of customer service. It wasn't horrible, but it was "meh". We don't typically rely on the knowledge of concierge, but one would expect them to know something. We had a question about purchasing tickets to the Louvre, and they weren't much help...
Also, be sure to pack clothes that don't need ironing or bring your own travel iron. We asked for an iron, because apparently the hotel shares one, but it was broken.
The hubby and I got a cheaper rate booking a double bed, but luckily for us the beds were so close together that it felt like one whole bed (this was our first time in Paris, so maybe that's how it is, but just in case someone is looking for 2 "separate" beds, you may be getting to know your roommate even more on this trip.
Last but not least, on our last day we decided we would take the train to the airport. My husband already had some idea to where we would catch the train and just wanted to verify the information with the hotel attendant. WHAT A BAD I DEA! We simply asked him if we were on the right track, and he insisted we take a cab instead. We told him the time of our flight and he said we would miss our flight...he made it seem like our flight was minutes away... and he didn't even answer the question! We just said "thank you", smiled and walked away. We did indeed take the train which is a few blocks away from the hotel. Given that it was on a Sunday, the train schedules are a bit different and the train passes every 15 minutes or so. We managed to get to the airport in an hour and 10minutes. (the man claimed it would take 2 hours-- he was pretty dramatic about it too)..
I wanted to give this place 2 stars, but the location is pretty awesome. We walked it everywhere and the Eiffel Tower is about 10 minutes away. read more
