The staff are super friendly and they make you feel very welcomed. I got the chicken sandwich this time and asked if they could make it/add some spice to it. They gladly said of course. The bread that they use for the sandwich is out of this world. It has the perfect crunch and it is always warm. The pesto is also really good, very tasty. As for the chicken, it is also delicious and crunchy. I also got the natural cola that I believe they make. It was also really good. It is a little pricy. However, their sandwiches are so cheap (relatively speaking) that it doesn't seem as so. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this place out! Just beware of the long lines during lunch

The marinade is very simple (oil, paprika, steak spice, salt, pepper) and not overpowering. With a cast-iron pan and some animal fat for frying, you can make a restaurant quality meal in no time. Another great thing about this place are the wonderful Italian products they import. The other day, Dino had me try some special Mortadella he had imported (the name escapes me). It was soft, perfectly flavoured and melt-in-your mouth good. If you're looking for a butcher in the Plateau/Mile-End, look no further. I decided that this wasn't enough to justify a bad rating since this establishment is one-of-a-kind in Montreal. Also the grocery section is just perfect! The butchers at Sabor Latino are very talented and always have fair prices. This allows me to make my own food like carnitas or tacos with yummy cuts of beef blade roasts (recommended!) They have wonderful fresh veggies and fruits as well. Lots of delicious drinks, good frozen seafood selection, with Oaxacan fresh cheese, and arrepas as well. The workers are always friendly and speak to me in Spanish. Love this place.

As a matter of fact, some of the snacks we picked up from here cost twice as much at a shop in Little Italy... Great porchetta as well... Less than $C 20 for 1 kilo!!! Very friendly and accomodating staff... We asked for one of the salumi to be vacumn seal and she did it for us. Just great.

There are some incredible marinated and prepared meats which are perfect for the bbq: massive beef ribs, pre-cooked short ribs, filet mignon brochettes, souvlaki chicken, spicy California burgers. Yum, etc. Come early, the bbq stuff sells out. There is also a great cheese and deli counter where the homemade bacon is tasty and the handmade signs to let you know about cheeses that are recently award-winning are both helpful and endearing. On the weekend there are a few small tables with umbrellas where you can sit, eat and people watch, but you're next to a (great) fish shop, so it's not romantic or anything. The staff are low key, helpful, and seem to speak at least three languages at any given time (English, French, Italian.) There is a freezer section in the back full of homemade pastas stuffed with things like panchetta and portobello mushrooms and cheap yummy homemade pizza dough. Some things are eyebrow-raisingly expensive: the multi-coloured olives and the wild mushrooms are in this category, so are some of the kooky fine vinegars, oils, teas and chocolates, and the rarer cuts of meat. This is to be expected I guess but as a local I appreciate that you can also always get fresh quality basics like eggs, milk and sour cream here. I also like that they recently expanded the prepared foods section by the cash to include pulled pork sandwiches. And I'll leave you with this final thought: hooray for pulled pork sandwiches.

The Italian grocery store recently expanded, almost doubling in size. It's located in be heart of little Italy, and honestly one of my favourite weekend spots to visit. Established in 1954, two brothers introduced Montreal to Italian products. Today their children have taken over and it seems to be a very popular neighborhood market based on the number of customers shopping during our visit. Bakery, deli, meat counter, dairy, produce. All the sections you expect in a traditional grocery store. The breakfast sweets. The Chocolate. Whole rabbit in the meat counter. So much pasta! Oil, balsamic, sauce. I just need to go back. If you cook Italian, you should be shopping here. Actually, if you eat, you should shop here.

Their meat selection is ok and pretty well priced, their fruits and vegetables are also quite good. Their pita bread is fresh most of the time (Andalos is 2 minutes away). One downside is the tiny parking and the craziest intersection known in these parts
