LaMonde Nixon the director was really patient with us and not judgmental of our family dynamics and dysfunction but helped us maneuver through the most difficult time of someone's life! From Ms. Norma at the front to Kayla everyone was so warm and understanding! As Mr Nixon was able to smoothly work with our insurance company and we found a plan that was suitable for our needs! They also offer Pre-Planning packages to avoid putting your loved ones through this experience. They are compassionate, kind, respectful of your loved ones, and they gently walk you through the selection process. They realize you're numb from grief and no one is ever ready for this process in our lives. Conkle's interior remains as it has been for years but is clean, well maintained and cared for even though the drapes are certainly out of style. I know! Who's looking at the drapes at a time like this? The chapels are large and can be increased or decreased as necessary. They try to accommodate every person's budget and are helpful even after the service when you need death certificates or have questions. One additional thought is many restaurants are located within walking distance of Conkles in Speedway for those who spend hours supporting the family. This was brought to my attention and much appreciated for those assisting the family and friends.

Even though they are located in Indy, they were willing to deliver the tables to our venue in Greenfield. They have been flexible with last minute changes for us. Last year, we needed extra tables and the crew went back to Indy and delivered the additional tables. The prices for the tables are a tad less than local supplier in Greenfield. The tables are sturdy and serve the purpose that we need. Some of the table tops were a little ugly, but we cover them anyway. Delivery was on time but we had to be flexible with their pickup schedule. We will continue to order the tables from them and highly recommend.

I was on a mission to mark my grandmother's grave which had been that way for nearly 100 years. I'd heard she was there when I was 5 and knew, from the way people spoke, that being in an unmarked grave was a bad thing. I finally made the move to remedy this and the project didn't go well. Ultimately we got the marker placed, but the experience wasn't good to be nice. Seeing my first review, the Exec Director of Crown Hill reached out to me and wanted to learn about my experience. He was professional and apologetic and asked what could be done to make up for their mistakes. After discussions about what was possible, they offered to help me place a marker on another unmarked grave. This one was an aunt (my grandmother's oldest daughter) who had taken her life after a very turbulent life. This was another family story that was whispered about. The catch was that she was buried in Arizona, and of course, Crown Hill is in Indiana. The folks at Crown Hill reached out to my aunt's cemetery and learned they would accept a marker produced in another state and shipped to them. It may seem silly to want to mark a grave for someone you never met before. But my mother is 97 and still very vital. I hoped that I could remedy these two wrongs from the past and give her some solace. Earlier this month I made the trip to Phoenix to see the marker that arrived earlier that month. It's hard to express the feelings of relief and a peace that comes with helping their lives more fittingly remembered. No longer a couple of bare patches of ground, both now have a way for others to learn that they are there and lived lives that mattered to their families. From the deepest part of my heart, I want to thank the Crown Hill people that made this possible. It takes real caring to turn a major disappointment into a miracle. Thank you!
