First time I had been to a barber in at least three years, possibly longer. I like my hair long, but it needed a deep trim and refresh. I wanted an unpretentious place nearby and something more than a "hole-in-the-wall." I liked that Leon's emphasized "Men's" Hair Care. I popped on over after my gym workout. I had not made an appointment, but my wait did not last more than five minutes. The establishment is spacious and there were several barbers working on their craft while amicably chatting with their clients. Since I had not been to a barber in several years, I was a little apprehensive about whether I could communicate clearly what it was that I wanted. Fortunately, my barber understood exactly where I was coming from and gave me exactly the cut I hoped for. It is a blessing to have a neighborhood barber shop employing people clients can trust. I went on the website at night and put myself on their waitlist for the next day. They told me I was #3 in line. The next morning I got a text update that I was next so I went to Leon's and clicked on the link that lets them know that I am at their location. I walk inside and tell them that I'm here and they tell me that they don't use the whitelisting system on their website and there's only one person working and he's booked for the day. Probably the best place to get a haircut in the island park, long beach, rvc, Oceanside area. I realize I'm rather bald, but trust me, if I had hair I'd be leaving this joint looking like Clooney. I coughed while having my head shaved, and he said "good thing I'm not doing anything fancy, I would've messed up." "i don't think you could do anything too fancy- I dont have a lot of options." Pros of this place: price- very reasonable. Lots of chairs staffed at all times so touring wait that long. Some people may be waiting for their favorite stylist- so if you're flexible about who you see, youll do fine in here, time wise. Professional, clean place. Parking is decent. They are very meticulous and spend a lot of time with each customer. You are getting a $40 haircut for under $10.00 I keep telling Leon to raise his prices because he is worth it. Got a haircut and a shave. The haircut was amazing, really great value for the skill. The shave on the other hand they should not even offer to do, I have never seen my face more bloody. So if you love razor burns and bruising this is the place for you. So yeah, I'm typically tight with my five stars reviews but this place earns it in my book. 3 times there now after floating looking for a barber to do a proper haircut with good fading ability and a proper old school finish that I like. Each time i've been pleasantly surprised with the quality and care put into my cut. As well I have closely watched all of their barbers doing their craft and it was skillful and methodical. By far the best haircut I've ever gotten. When I first moved to Long Island 2 years ago I would travel back to astoria to go to my familiar place. What a pain in the ass it was, my cousin turned me onto Leon's and I haven't looked back since. Sure you can wait a while If you want one of the popular barbers. But it is absolutely worth the wait. Leon in particular doesn't put his scissor down until every hair is cut perfectly, he used a straight razor on my head to allow the hair to grow more healthy, I've been to a lot of barbers and never had that done.. He also does MANicures and pedicures for men waxing eyebrows and whatnot for those of you that are into that. read more

Very good haircuts. They definitely take care of you. Leon and Alex do the best job there, haven't had any of the new guys cut my hair.

This place is a huge disappointment because they do great cuts but the barbers are unorganized and extremely slow, They talk way to much which slows down their work and keeps people waiting even longer. The phone is always ringing and the barbers are constantly stoping to answer it. Good luck trying to get your haircut on a weekend because like clock work they will have 15 people waiting and 2 barbers working. Make sure your phone is fully charged because if not your going to die from boredom while waiting for your turn. Word of advice to the owner, employ more barber and renovate the place to accommodate your clients. read more

As someone who has used many barber shops in the area, I have finally found one with the quality and consistency that I look forward to when needing a hair cut. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the guys always make you feel very welcome. The barbers are all trained to perform all different types of hair styles and I can truly say that I know that I am getting a quality cut that I can be proud of when going to Leon's. The prices are also extremley fair in comparison to many barbers/salons I have been to previously. Walked in here looking to get a haircut in a decent amount of time, not a good experience. If the barbers don't know you and your not a "regular" then you'll have to wait behind people, especially people who got there AFTER you. All the guys in there were getting a the typical "guido fade" which makes me think that the barbers don't know how to do any other styles. I sat there for almost 2 hours and was not even greeted and went unrecognized waiting for a haircut. At one point in the middle of a haircut the barber received a phone call and walked away from his customer for almost 25 minutes, just laughing on the phone carrying on a playful convo. Overall not a good experience at a barbershop with many chairs. And why does ever guy in this place get the SAME haircut!! read more

So about 2 months ago my hair started to thin out on the top of my head and I got very worried. I've been going to Leon's for like 7 years now and they have always took care of me. When Leon saw what was hopping he told me not to worry and would help me grow it back. So after 2 months of Leon doing a special hair cut on my hair I'm not going to lie we have seen amazing progress. He has a special technique of using a razor on my hair to cut it that it is helping the area to regrow the hair. Onto of that this special garlic shampoo he gave me is doing the trick. I feel bad about writing this review because the guy who cut my hair was a likable guy however the haircut was pretty horrible. Very uneven , not anywhere close to how I explained I wanted. Wasn't happy at all I got charged 25$ for a shadow fade and I told the barber not to touch my hair on the top and only the sides of my head were cut and I was overcharged. The guy who sits next to the lady on the left when you walk in is ridiculous. His hair cut was very average and I was very upset of the price he is not worth 25$ I normally pay 15 $ in Kennesaw for the exact same cut. I'm never coming back because of that one hustling barber! I am a college student and can not afford this type of barber. I understand their is a booth fee but come on man you just can't kill college kids pockets!
