The chain seems to have shrunk in the last four or five years, and spotting the open window on the Royal Hibernian Way was a delightful surprise. At last, those little almond-topped nougat squares draped in rich white chocolate can be mine. And up until now, the only method of procuring the sweet, sweet candy in Ireland was buying it online (and crying over the postage and packaging charges) or hitting up one of overpriced candy stores in the city centre. Sweetest Moments might not be as fancy looking as some of the candy stores in the city centre BUT the selection and most importantly, the affordability of this place has made it my favourite confectionary shop. The sales assistant even helped me put together a gift box of my friend's favourite American candy, very good service. I'll probably be back to get some retro sweets for Christmas presents. The only problem I have with this place? It's not a huge issue.. but there is no credit card machine in the shop so don't forget to go get some cash before you go in.

I met the owner, a Belgian lady called Inge, who recently opened the shop with her Irish partner Declan. She was really lovely, she told me all about how she came from Belgium to open a Belgian chocolate shop in Dublin after falling in love with an Irish man.
