The salon is a bit farther from the city centre but the ride is absolutely worth it! Actually, I already had 2 attempted appointments scheduled with other hairdressers closer to the city centre but both got cancelled by them at very short notice, and I was quite disappointed but in the end this was my luck because I ended up trying out Leona's salon! I came in to just ask for an appointment as soon as possible, and the woman at the reception desk as it turned out Leona herself looked at the clock and said: I could do it now if you like. Wow! That was really great after the big frustration with the other hairdressers! I wanted some blonde highlights for my hair, and I knew this takes a while, so it was especially nice and flexible of her to squeeze me in between the next appointments. The salon looks rather plain-vanilla but welcoming, tidy and clean. The consultation was very professional but also tailored to my rather problematic hair which is naturally curly, therefore also quite dry, and additionally very fine. In my hair I still had some remaining old, half grown-out highlights, which didn't make the case easier for a hairdresser. However, she managed to find the perfect solution of 2 different blonde shades (a light blonde shade and a golden blonde one) to make my hair ultimately look naturally blonde like summer sun has bleached it softly! I am very happy with the result! Leona has a lot of power and great passion for what she is doing. As a client you get the impression it's not just only a job for her. The service is excellent and her technical skills very competent, I felt I was in very good hands. As I am a postgrad student, I have to look after my expenses but Leona's prices are really good value for money especially compared to other hairdressers in Oxford. She also offers student discount and other special prices (e.g. discount for the cut and blow-dry of my very fine hair). I am a seventeen-year-old girl and my hair looking immaculate matters a great deal for me at this age! I recently went to Leona's asking for my hair to be styled. I wasn't sure what to expect since it was the first time going to her, but Leona truly did a brilliant job. She layered it and did a side fringe that blended in and worked fantastically for me. She understood exactly the look I wanted and produced an even better one than I was expecting. She blow-dried my hair beautifully curling each layer at the ends, and I was thrilled with my new look. She was lovely to talk to during my haircut and the atmosphere was friendly and very professional. The location of her salon is very central too, making it an extremely convenient place to get to. That evening I went for a party and the amount of compliments I received for my new hairstyle was incredible. I'll definitely now only be going to Leona's. This is a very, VERY good hairdresser's. I went for a haircut today and Leona took exceptionally good care of my hair. She made sure she understood what I wanted, she paid a lot of attention to detail, and she even thinned my hair for comfort. She is exceptionally good at her job, and she clearly has a passion for it. Also, I'm given to understand that the prices are among the cheapest in this town. The only thing that may inconvenience you is that she doesn't accept credit cards. I wasn't expecting that, to be honest, and I do hope that she changes her policy in the future. I'm writing this here not so much as a complaint, but to caution people. To her credit, Leona did me a favour and offered me the student discount (which I wouldn't normally get on a Saturday). By all means, I do recommend Leona's. It's very good, it's cheap, and Leona seems a very kind and pleasant person who does everything in her power to make the customer feel welcome. i must say i was utterly disapointed!! i'd just moved from australia to oxford, leonas salon is over the road from where i live so i went in on the off chance to get some color and cut. leona was able to fit me in so i sat in the chair and clearly stated i wanted hilites but not with bleach, she kindly showed me the color in color book and said she would not use bleach, a hour and 10min later the hilites were in just 15min after that they were being washed out i instantly had a bad feeling as i no color takes a while to take where as bleach is alot quicker, i no this as my moms a hairdresser. i sat down after the hair wash and my hair was bright blonde i knew bleach had been used on my hair when i ask for it not to be. the next day i went to another salon for a 2nd opinion on what had been used and they confirmed what i already knew. i was also charged 120pound for something i said i did not want! my advise stay clear of this salon, i will never return. read more

i like this site qype Now i was travelling to oxford had a meeting. was very confident till a gurl at the bar told me i need to something about my hair. Now i was not sure i had enough time for a hair look changeover.. i was passing iffley road and saw this salon Leonas.. Was in two minds about going in and asking for a changeover. But i did do that. The owner Leona was quite quick and impressive with what she thought i should do with my hair. And 20 mins with the clipping and cutting. I must say i looked a bit different and nice :) The meeting went well and for all my efforts the secretary said nice hair. So in two word i ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND this place. I was looking was a hair dresser for a long time and someone recommended ''Leonas" I booked an appointment with Leona and even thou my expectation were not very high, I went in for a hair cut and blow dry. I was surprised with the amount of time Leona spent in consultation,even thou I could see she was very busy and then I was sent for a hair wash. I have to say that the back wash was one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat on and the hair wash was the most relaxing that I can remember. Was walking past Leonas and I needed a haircut,so i thought I'd give it a try...didn't have any high expectations but the price on the board said 25pounds for a cut n dry which sounded reasonable, I stepped in. I didnt have an appointment but the staff were polite enough n asked me if I was willing to wait so i did...I noticed some good work n happy clients while I waited. I was then attended to a few minutes later,and a full consultation was carried out wth regard to my hair,after which my haircut began....the end result was fantastic.....truly one of the best cuts I've had in a long time. its worth a try.... read more

Leona's is a brilliant place to get your hair done whether its a colour, perm or just a hair cut or blowdry. Very disapointed. Went in with shoulder length slightly grown out graduated bob and came away with a chin length bob that I can't even tie up, after specifically saying I did want much off length especially the front as wanted to keep length for when I'm a bridesmaid in 8 weeks ( I know my hair grows slow) .
