He knows the exact combination to make your yard bloom with life. He came and walked around our yard and asked what we were looking for and what types of flowers we liked. I knew I wanted butterfly bushes to attract pollinators (save the bees!) and I love color! He came up with a detailed plan to ensure our front and back yard will be beautiful year round. We thought the prices were reasonable for the services, especially once everything took root and you saw everything growing and blooming so beautifully. The day of installation the landscapers worked super hard and did a beautiful job, also cleaning up after themselves and answering all questions we had. I love going and seeing all the new up and coming businesses that I can support on Long Island, and I always enjoy that these markets are held at a nursery. There are always so many great vendors but I'd like to highlight some great food options, I'll also be @ their instagrams, definitely look them up! To start I got some chocolate boba milk tea from @wickedsisterstea, it was a perfect pick me up, just sweet enough and super flavorful. They also sell an assortment of loose teas that I highly recommend! Next my boyfriend and I sampled some empanadas at @amped_panadas, we shared the Florentine which is the vegetarian option and was super juicy and cooked perfectly and we shared the "the amped" a sloppy Joe empanada very clearly cooked with love. Two special shoutouts to @thelidipcompany and @creationsofbacon we sampled the Greek and baked clam dip which was basically a gyro and baked clam that can be served with crackers and pita. Unfortunately she was sold out otherwise my boyfriend and I would've bought it all! We also sampled the bacon Oreo and bacon jam sandwich at creations of bacon. Perfect mix of sweet savory and spicy! Lastly we stopped at @prettybakedonlongisland. We bought some jalapeño cheddar pretzels and she was having BOGO 50% off cookies so of course I grabbed a couple of those! Overall, todays farmers market experience was a great first time back! I'm so excited for the spring season and what's to come. Another social shout out to all the other vendors, the candle makers, crystal sellers, and pickle guys! You were not overlooked, but you also weren't bacon... Lots of activities and it doesn't cost anything to enter, but each activity does cost a few coin. Face painting was $10, I believe the "gold digging" demo was $6 (and there is a sign that suggests you do the other activities before getting your face painted as the paint might not last, which I appreciated). Food was available for purchase and I got a roasted corn that I was forced to split with the kid. The corn wasn't that sweet but still sufficed. I didn't get to look at the plants or any of the nursery items but I will def head back there when in the area when it's time to start planting.
