We had several estimates for back patio and front porch extension. Brian's vision was spot on over the others and was in our budget as well. He had to delay a couple times due to weather, but once the job started, it was timely, not drawn out, and the crew was polite and respectful of our property. Minimal touch-up around all the edges. He did a terrible job! A circle surrounding the tree in our patio was distorted and not circular at all. Control crack joints were placed farther apart than industry standard. A conduit installed for a natural gas line was too small to use. There were multiple double stamps and the stamp depth was inconsistent resulting from poor technique. We found out later that his license is on probation for structural problems in the past, and that the photos on his website were not his own, but were copied from other sites. We complained twice to Mr. Lenz about the coloring issue prior to sealant application. He ignored us and sealed it anyway stating,"the color would soak in," then he asked for final payment before the job was finished. Mr. Lenz wasn't knowledgeable enough about the products he used to know the color could have been easily repaired before sealing. We had to take him to small claims court for reimbursement after spending multiple hours and over $1300 removing sealant and sawing grout lines to fix his poor workmanship. Not surprisingly, we found that he had already been taken to court 3 times within the year preceding our case. Save yourself the trouble and use a more knowledgeable, teachable, and experienced contractor. read more

Lenz Custom Concrete did a very good job on a new concrete pad I had them pour for my shed. Lenz beat the bids offered by competitors by hundreds of dollars, he showed up on time, he allowed me to make some minor changes along the way, and he did not go over his original bid. Brian would be wise to brighten up his character a bit, but as far as the product goes, I was a satisfied customer. read more

not sure how these reviews are being managed but I noticed all the negative reviews that were on here when I posted mine are now gone...?...I came on here to update my review....in my original review I had included my phone number and received several inquirers about statements in my review...I was told by several people that Brain had claimed my review was a fake placed by his competitors...this was a lie...for the sake of text space I'll highlight the grievances of my original review...first Brian requested a large up front payment in "order to guarantee our start and completion dates'...that was a lie...he finally showed later that winter and installed the concrete in freezing conditions with no protection provided for the underlayment or the concrete....which resulted in wide spread concrete failure...concrete continues to crumble and flake away (there are some photos that remained on here of that...I have lots more if requested) there are extensive cracks and fracturing throughout the project in ever slab poured (again this was a large job over 4500 sq ft) the concrete is inconsistent with different coloring and surface finishing...the workmanship and placement was highly incompetent with mismatched and unaligned hand tooled and saw cut expansion joints....far below any measurable industry standards...I had the work looked at by no less than six different contractors for any solutions in fixing it....it was clearly expressed to be the worst concrete work they had ever seen....removal and installation costs exceeded $80,000 in repairs...needless to say the concrete is still here if anyone would like to personally examine it...regardless of Brians claims...in closing it should be noted Brain is an experienced litigator as well...I was told by several attorneys I could easily spend the cost of repairs in attorney fees...without any guarantee of repair or restitution ....I would highly recommend you do not let this person on your property...do not pay out the large up front contract requests...and lastly I have no idea were these 5 star ratings are coming from...he has had multiple lawsuits and licensing issues...and everyone I've since talked with that has worked with him have had similar experiences...if you'd like to contact me for more information...feel free to do so...Ron Leslie...208-866-4787 read more
