The week before Christmas my wife, suffering from exhaustion and anxiety, stepped out of the bathtub losing her grip on her glasses and brakes the arm off her only pair. She needs these glasses to work and to drive let alone read or see fine detail. While she's sitting overnight in the hospital under observation, hoping she hadn't had a heart attack, it's up to me to try to get the glasses repaired. Getting to The Valley early, hoping to be the first one through the door at 9 a.m, I quickly discover that LensCrafters doesn't open until 10. So, after an hour's wait, the gate finally goes up and I get inside asking them if they can make a simple repair until my wife can come in and have her eyes checked (I know it had been a couple of years since it was done and she was thinking of getting bew glasses anyway). The counter person looks her up on the computer, realizes she hasn't been in since 2013, and I literally see her face change. Well, to start with the frames that she has haven't been available for a couple of years, plus they don't do repairs there. Her demeanor to me was so cold and so unhelpful that it left me stunned. All I could do was walk out in disgust. We've since found another eyeglass place that did the repair on the spot, and they did it for free. Plus they were SO nice and friendly to us that we've already set up an appointment for her to have her eyes checked there and glasses ordered next week. In a corporate world I realize the need for streamlined "service", but their inability to affect a simple repair in an emergency, coupled with the cold treatment at an especially inopportune time, has left me angry enough to write this review. The worst pissible experience at the most inoppurtune time. We won't be back. read more
