They still have some of the generic stuff for people that are only looking for that but it is not what most go there for. There is a large selection of wines here as the name would suggest for all peoples tastes from red to white and even sparkly (and that is the extent of my knowledge of wine). They are very proud of their extensive collection of Whiskeys here. Whiskeys of all prices, sizes and ages to make even the biggest whiskey snow smile! Being that I am a Craft Beer snow I am drawn here by their ever growing selection of craft beer in both 6+ can and bottle packs to 650ml bombers. Recently they have started a new partnership with a local North Vancouver Brewery called Bridge Brewing Company. Bridge Brewing Co only sells their beer by the Growler or Keg but have odd hours as the owners have day jobs. Being open only Fridays and Saturdays it is not always easy to stop in. Here is where Edgemont has stepped in. They have started a Growler Exchange Program with Bridge brewing. You bring in your Bridge Brewing Growler and they will exchange it with a full cold 1.89L growler for you to take home at nearly the same price as the brewery itself. If you do not own a growler they will sell you one for $7 dollars on top of your first purchase (It would be $5) from the brewery. This is some of the freshest beer you can buy as it is packaged in a growler and sold very quickly. It will not sit on the shelves for extended periods of time. #30DaysOfYelp 8/30

Don't know the students name, but he was new and I asked him where he came from, was he a student. He told me he go his Masters at UBC in cyber security. I asked out of curiosity because I use the store consistently. He talked about the fact there were no jobs in his field in BC. And he would have to try and find a job in Toronto or something. In my opinion you would think if their are no jobs in Canada, the best course would be take his valuable education back to his homeland. It's actually unbelievable that India doesn't have it own Universities. We have over abundance of foreign students. Instead of having to set up a whole new life without family. I would go home. Which is why I said to him maybe he should go back to India. I should have followed up w good luck finding a job in his field. If the worker is that sensitive he shouldn't be in Canada. I didn't say anything racist. I was just offering a possibility. So the Manager screamed at me, they won't accept or tolerate...exactly what did I do wrong. I asked him questions because he was new. And we've recently had a flood of foreign students moving into Kerrisdale. So the Manager yells at me and tells me I won't ever be able to buy drinks at his store again. I think he forgets who's paying for his salary. No skin off of me. There are plenty of stores everywhere. I wonder how long this kids student visas lasts. Anybody watching global news. Especially, what's going on in France. Will know there is now a serious backlash towards immigration. And that it well know that foreign students, decide they want a life here. And will break the law to stay. My personal politics have nothing to do with my questions. Manager is just being a dick and thinks it okey to call me up and tear a strip of of me. When I did absolutely nothing wrong. Was trying to get to know the new guy. If he walks around with an attitude that the World is out to get him. Then maybe it is. We don't go invading other people's countries. Build you own Universities. We have overpopulation and now the incoming immigrants. Which cause over crowding, rental and house increases. And people who don't come with the intention of integrating. I didn't say anything of this kind. He seemed fine talking about himself. Poor me behavior is un becoming. And so is the nasty dad speech being overly outrageous. Wonder what his boss thinks about losing 700 dollars a month. Maybe I'll call him up. Already found a better store for less money. Give me a break man, pathetic all round.

But hey, I'm not a wine connoisseur so what do I care? lol). This particular BC Liquor store is a decent place to get alcohol. It's a mid-size store (i.e., half the other BC Liquor stores I've been to are larger, and half are smaller. This one is perfectly "medium" sized), and it usually has whatever alcoholic beverages I'm shopping for at the moment. This store is conveniently located on Cambie, across from Whole Foods, Canada Tire, Home Depot and Save-On Foods, and there's a huge London Drugs around the corner on Broadway. So... it really is in the middle of a prime shopping area. What is most notable about this BC Liquor store is that there is FREE underground parking available, only for customers of this store. I've not seen this feature at any other BC Liquor store, and boy, on a rainy day, this feature is SUPER nice. I have had good luck with the customer service in this store, too. When I've asked staff for wine recommendations, they have never steered me wrong. The second employee in the back was stocking the beer fridge so I can certainly give him some latitude, as he looked busy. I asked the first employee behind the counter about a gift bag for wine and he seemed rather annoyed that I would have the audacity to bother him, prompting me to go to the Oak and 41st liquor store. This is the third sub par experience I've had at this store recently, and it seems that it's become poorly managed and needs some help. I can only hope the owner of the store occasionally reads this site and take some time to indentify the recent change in staff attitude.
