This review is strictly regarding COVID and nothing on the actual barbers and their talent. This barbershop is not compliant with COVID precautions in anyway. They were no ground markers or anything to ensure social distancing between those waiting or those cutting their hair. There was no physically barrier between each patron cutting their hair. 3 of the employees were either not wearing their mask at all or wearing it incorrectly (on their chin or only covering their mouths). The chairs in the waiting area are spaced about 3 feet from each other, at most. At one point, there was 15 people in the shop and it's pretty small, not very spacious. I was not here to get my haircut, I was just waiting for other people. With such a rise in COVID and with our county going back to the purple tier, I would really hope that barber shops step up their precautions not relax them. read more

Went in with my sister for a trim and they tied her hair back into a pony tail and HACKED at it with men's sheers. I asked for a refund and the "owner" so rudely suggested the hack artist have another go. He refused to give me my money back and told me that they cannot cut hair without asking. This place is dirty. I sat there and watched the barber finish one guy and then immediately sat another guy down without cleaning anything. I've taken my son here for years but no more. His dad has also been going to Danny for years but now he literally has ringworm. And the worst thing is Danny cut his whole head and said nothing to him about it. You can clearly see in the photo that he is covered in ringworm. So gross. This place needs to have the Department of Health called on them and maybe then they would start cleaning their tools. Dissapointed. I've been coming here for beard trims (straight-razor) for years. I'm angry that I had to pay $20 for this rushed and botched job. I came in early at 11:30 am on a Friday to avoid the crowd and I was the only customer waiting, so I expected a paced trim. I am going to a wedding tomorrow and now its going to look like it was my first time shaving with all the cuts on my neck and all over. I have had a few cuts here and there when getting a trim from the shop but this is really embarrassing for the shop. Please tell your hairdressers to not rush just because I didn't need a haircut today. I'm sorry but I've been served by Danny before and I know he can do better. Well our 2nd visit was not as good as our first. Perhaps we got the wrong person to cut this time around or we just weren't specific enough in what we wanted. My fiance, his cousin, and his friends have been going to Lena's Barbershop for their haircuts for years now. If you thought only women care about looks, you're mistaken. Men, especially care how their haircut turns out. I mean they go every two weeks or so. They always told me how much their barber, Andy does a great job. I've been coming to this barbershop for over 6-7 years now. I've been getting my weekly haircuts with Andy. Andy gives his clients the option to come in as a walk in or by appt. I personally like to get my appts so that I am in and out of the shop. With my busy schedule, having a haircut appt is EVERYTHING. Solid cut, its a place to come back to for a second cut, you could find better, but you can't beat location and speedy quality service. It ain't perfect, but what is really. This is a really neat spot I found in south San Jose by South Gate liquors. I didn't really know what to expect from a place that has great prices. Big flat screens to watch the game if you're waiting for a barber. From what I could tell every barber was busy and all kinds of people walk through the doors.
