This military grocery store offers a wide variety of delicious selections for customers who have a valid military identification card. Like most of the military facilities we've visited, the commissary is maintained to the highest standard of cleanness. AWARENESS: While staying at NAS Lemoore a few weeks ago, the wife and I decided to visit the Commissary to grab a few things needed for both at home and the RV. NARRATIVE: This Commissary, like so many is located attached to one long building. The Commissary is on one end. The for court is in the center and the Exchange is on the opposite end. Other than being on the smaller side of most Commissary's I've visited, there is not too much special here. Cheaper prices. No sales tax and some hard to find items only found at Commissary's but again, nothing special. SCENE: Located on the Naval Air Station Lemoore, this Commissary is NOT centrally located to base housing. It's about a four mile drive. RECOMMENDATION(S): The savings are great but, I wouldn't drive out of my way to save a few bucks. read more

For a base this size I find this commissary to be small. The shelves are hit and miss on being stocked. Meat selection is poor. The baggers seem to be the same collection of old, slow Filipinos you see at all commissaries. The cashiers are the same bunch of self-entitled snots who take having a job there as a right not a privilege. Price wise on the things I buy some of them where actually cheaper in Guam. And cheaper out in town. The advantage of the commissary is that it's right here since the nearest town is almost 20 miles away. read more

Avoid on the 1st and 15th as pay day brings the herds out in large numbers and may increase casualties as well as increase in unruly dependa offspring who terrorize the isles in search of Uncle Jody with the Animal crackers.... Let me first preface my review. After serving 20 years in the US Navy, I have shopped at many commissary locations throughout the world. As a retired member, shopping at the commissary is one of the last of our diminishing benefits. Before I start sounding like an entitled SOB, I will focus on this location specifically. A little background first. DeCA operates the commissary. This is a not-for-profit entity. Which means every dollar made is put right back into the business. It also pays for the employees (less baggers, they work for tips), overhead, etc... However, DeCA charges the consumer 5% across the entire receipt. This 5% is to help with building maintenance, erecting new stores and repairing/replacing equipment. With that being said, this particular location is extremely small and needs a serious refresh. Due to its size, the selections are extremely limited. More times than not over the last 2 years items such as meat are limited as are the selections of fresh fish. I have noticed over time, prices are increasing when compared to civilian stores (Ralphs, Savemart). So when you consider those eligible to shop at the commissary often have to drive a bit, costs saved don't seem to be so attractive especially if you are only saving a few dollars. The butchers are more so stock folks putting out new stock, while the deli offers a great selection of fresh cold-cuts and cheeses. It should be mentioned, the deli prepares sandwiches on-site which is always good considering the limited choice in the base's fast food joints. read more

It seems that the commissary towards the end of the week always run out of items and they're slow to restock. Although you save on taxes their prices are not as great as other local market. They also lack in produce quality, organic and healthier selections and product selection. read more

prices are great! Staffs are friendly but not everyone well nobody's perfect, but I would suggest that it would be a lot better if their going to show some you know "welcome!" expression.. Isn't the best Commissary I've been to, but definitely isn't the worst. The employees that work here are all very awesome/friendly people. I work here occasionally for my job, and I also shop here. I've gotten to know them very well. They always have competitive pricing, which is great, plus no sales tax. The 5% service fee is to renovate and build new Commissaries around the US, so I have no problem helping out in that regard. They've put in a sushi bar, I'm not a fan. It made my husband and I both sick, and I told the sushi guys that... They weren't very thrilled ha! I'm sure people love it, though. I've never had an issue with lines, unless you go on payday, but DUH that's a given. All in all, glad to have it within driving distance. I especially like when I end my days of work there, 2 birds/1 stone! Get my grocery shopping done and essentially get paid to drive out there :) read more

Considering the fact that the lines are always long, the commissary does have some pretty good sushi and fresh deli sandwiches. Having to tip the people that bag your groceries is a bad idea simply because people usually pay with a card and have no cash to tip them. But overall decent place to grab a bite on the go while on base. read more

Smaller than other commissaries I've been to but still has everything essential that you need. Does not have a butcher or meat counter which I wish there was. There is however, a sushi chef who makes fresh sushi everyday. He also text request if you have a certain taste for sushi and it is very fresh and delicious. It's actually better than some sushi restaurants I've been to. The bakery is very nice and the deli meats are also very good. They have a section for discounted food which I raid often! Fruits and veggies always seem to be fresh and there is a section for discounted frozen meats if anyone is interested. read more

The commissary is much bigger and cleaner than it used to be; it's a pretty good service operation for a base like Lemoore, better than the off-base types in savings anyway. The lines can be long, though. Eternally long. read more

I never understood the " ACTIVE DUTY IN UNIFORM HEAD OF THE LINE before 1300" policy for its Self scan & bag section. I shop here constantly and it's a decent place to shop mostly. But the fresh fruit is always not ripe or literally rotten. Some days they just never have ground beef or anything and the sales on the nicer things are not really sales. Besides the fruit my only issue I have every single time I go in the baggers are extremely rude and will throw your stuff around and I now tell them they can't walk out with me because of how rude they are and they roll their eyes. I wished they'd get rid of the bagging people all together or pay them because it's a hassle every time. The pictures I noticed on here are extremely old and don't look like that anymore. But besides all the little stuff I keep going back because it's the close and cheap. read more

This place sucks! No variety at all. It is convenient if you live on base, but thanks to the horrible service I have gotten there, we shop off base. They also charge a "convenience" fee, which is exactly the same price as tax out in town. The carts are small, and there is just not a lot to choose from. read more

The fruit lately has been rotten. The meat has been from the meat counter area has been gross and the store really had not been stocked to capacity lately. The stockers are rude at times and really get irritated when you want around them when they are standing around talking to each other. My daughter uses the Caroline cart and one of the baggers loves to use the cart as a place to store his oversized lunch bag. He locks the wheels, so no one can go into the store and use the cart. I have asked other baggers to remove his lunch bag, and I have had to ask him to eat his lunch elsewhere when he was eating over top of it in the entryway of the store. The commissary needs to do better to manage their help and train them where to eat, because I am sure the health department would have a field day if they found baggers eating in the entry of the stores over carts for disabled children, among other thing. Since I moved here three years ago, this commissary has gone way down hill. It is almost as if management does not care anymore. It's a shame. read more

Not alot of people are privy to this but,... you can talk to management and request they order certain items and if enough people do... they will carry it as a trial and see how many people buy it to determine if they will put it on the "keepstocked" list.... they recently started a sushi bar... most times pre-made but sometimes made to order.... it had me apprehensive as if I would be ordering "gas station sushi" but the look and smell (lack of smell) made me go for it... it was slightly over sauced (pre-made version)... but it was actually some of the best sushi I've had in california, in fact it was the second best I have had in this state... another pro-tip for grill masters and tactical fatherators. .. talk to the butcher... shoot the breeze and talk cuts, marble, lip on bone, and carnivore talk with the guy... the taller Asian gentleman with glasses you would think just came from the Kobe beef processing facility.... after talking to this guy.. you will notice when you are there at the coolers, mysteriously, the empty area for the cut you are looking for will fill up with more choice cuts at the size and fat content you prefer... the only downside is... in the past 8 years I don't believe I have seen much prime at all.. not to worry because the choice and select are pretty decent none of that Argentinian cattle... also... like I'm sure someone else has stated by now.... if you are agoraphobic or just hate lines.... stay away on the first and fifteenth of every month. read more

If you have just moved here and have grown accustomed to the commissaries on the East Coast, get ready for a culture shock. Despite NAS Lemoore being known as the Master Jet Base of the West Coast, this commissary lacks size and selection. You never know what will be in stock or what brands will be available. It's a decent grocery store. Workers give good customer service. Cart set-up going into and out of store is disfunctional.

Why are there illegal workers here that bag groceries for "tips only?" They don't speak any english and are always here. How can they make a decent living on just tips. I think some human rights are being violated. Human labor trafficking. read more

Deli is pretty good. They make great sandwiches. The dutch crunch bread is on point. I also enjoy the ready made pasta and other items. Makes it easy on potluck days. read more
