I don't like to review, but the recent haircut I received left me hurt. I came in with my hair a lil over shoulder length and showed the lady(who I can't remember their name) a photo of what I wanted. It was a wolf cut that was layered angled to be short in front and longer in back(kind of like a mullet but not). I also asked to have bangs, which I was told would not look good on me because I have a small forehead(I understand professional opinion but I have had them before and personally liked it). She then went off how her daughter wanted bangs on her kid and that she was like no. The woman still did "light" bangs on me, but the way she cut it made it look like I have a bald spot. My hair was the perfect length for the photo I showed where it is longer in the back. She cut it all off and now my hair is mid neck and way too short in the front. And I always ask that it is not too short. It looks like a little tail in the back too and not blended nicely. I won't lie and say I look awful, but it was not what I asked for and looks nothing like the photo or near the photo at all. If she could not do that, I wish she told me. I'm hoping when my hair grows it looks like it but I don't know. It's a lil longer than a pixie cut. I feel like it was also my fault, I should have spoke up when I saw her cut off a huge chunk, but I get nervous/shocked and thought maybe I should trust the process. But yeah no. I tipped(even tho I was told I shouldn't have) and left. It is 2 stars though because this wasn't my first time here and they usually do an amazing job(Angela really knows what she is doing and I probably should have waited for her but my only day free is one of days she isn't there)! I do recommend the place, but for simple cuts and nothing crazy. I do love the energy and the fair prices. read more

No matter what state I live in, I always make sure I wait to cut/color my hair until I come back to Holbrook because this salon is always staffed by the best people. They are sweet, caring and extremely talented! I've never walked away disappointed from this place. (I'll also confidently say that I wouldn't even go to another Lemon Tree because I did that twice - once in New Jersey and once at another location in New York. I don't even know where to start. I guess first by saying how AMAZING the lemon tree on furrows Rd is!!! Everyone over there is absolutely wonderful inside and out! I went there with different color hair because of my stupidity (even though I know how to do color) my hair was like 7 different colors! They not only gave me an amazing haircut but they came up with this stunning color I'm absolutely obsessed with! My 6 year old who's mixed black and white and has got the most curly kinky hair ever got the keratin treatment done on her hair. All for 3/4 less then what you'd pay at those high end salons. Thank you anthony and Helen for not only your patience but for your honest care and concern for the quality of my hair and happiness. You have a forever customer! The service is excellent. My hair comes out great. I think the products they use are easier on my hair than other salons. My hair is very sensitive to chemicals so I need to be careful. The only place to go...why pay a fortune? The new management is wonderful and the shop looks great. I go often so I opt for cut n go which saves me money but there are coupons in all the local papers. BRbar cuts my hair but all the girls do good work. So give it a try and save yourself some money. read more

if i could give negative stars i would.. going to this hair salon is my biggest regret in my whole entire life. i have genuinely never been more upset then i was after getting this haircut. she gave me NOTHING CLOSE to what i asked for. it was way too short (i asked for a trim and long layers) and incredibly choppy and uneven. i even had numerous people tell me how choppy it is and that they hoped i didn't pay for it. i also had people ask me where i got it done so they can know never to go here. also not to mention, the staff was incredibly unfriendly when my mom and i walked in. my mom's haircut came out even worse than mine which is saying a lot considering how terrible mine was. this is genuinely the worst haircut i have ever received. i am so disappointed and honestly embarrassed to even say that i got my hair done here. i wish i knew how terrible this place was before going here. you could not pay me any amount of money to get my hair done here ever again. My experience with this location of The Lemon Tree was absolutely the worst I have had in a long time. I was very disappointed that they do not have respect for themselves or their business. The attitude of the staff was horrifying to say the least..... They were extremely rough in washing and cutting my hair. All they kept doing was complaining about their coworkers. The place was filthy, issues with the water, the barbacide was old - very light in color. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

In reply to Anthony: the last haircut I received was over 5 months prior. So, it's a stylist's job to know how to shape hair that has grown in. Following the lines of a grown out haircut is absurd. The photo was only of bangs swept to the side, and I left with frayed, crooked LAYERED full bangs. And regardless that it wasn't the type of bang I wanted, she cut them way too short and super crooked. I've done a better job cutting my own. And she also took over 3 inches off my hair when I said I wanted to keep the length and that was even crooked and had random long pieces hanging. When I voiced being upset about how crooked it was, the stylist acted as though I was seeing things. She wouldn't fess up to it and even other customers admitted that it was really crooked. Plus she laughed at the fact that I was really upset. So, unprofessional? yes I believe so. Then the manager on duty fixed it, but you know what? It is still a horrible haircut. read more

The end result of my visit to this salon was pretty disappointing. I went in and Judy said she will be with me after she sweeps up hair. Then took me over to sink and she's talking to another customer while she's working on me. I didn't even realize I got my hair washed Bc it was so quick. She just put shampoo in my hair and washed it out. Then she did the same with conditioner. She also smelled horribly of smoke. I wanted to puke. Then she took me to her chair while she's still talking to another customer. Paused to ask me what I want with my hair and I said 1 1/2 in and i want layers. She didn't give me too many layers Bc she was lazy. She kept complaining that my hair was too long. I also had a coupon for a wash cut and blowdry for $12. She then charged me $5 more Bc my hair was too long. It was a waste of my money Bc she was rough while blow drying and my hair was still fluffy and frizzy. I left upset and would never go back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
