If you're looking for a true taste of France in Livingston, Stella's is it. The pastries are…read moreabsolutely gorgeous--artisanal, delicate, and made with a level of craftsmanship you rarely find outside of Europe. They don't offer gluten-free options, but they do use flour imported directly from France, which is very different from U.S. flour. According to the staff, no one has ever had an issue with gluten intolerance here, which makes their approach unique and worth noting. The coffee is just as impressive. I always judge a coffee shop by its Americano, and Stella's passes the test--smooth, bold, and simple, the way it should be. Overall, a beautiful little French bakery with pastries that are almost too pretty to eat (almost ) and coffee that makes you want to linger a little longer. A gem for Livingston!

The pastries had a gorgeous presentation and delightful flavors to match. The crusts for the quiches were perfection. The pastries we tried had an incredibly fresh croissant texture and wonderful flavor. The coffee blend and tea blend were delightful. Our only critique was that the Quiche Lorraine was a little saltier than we prefer. We're visiting from Atlanta but hope to get by here at least one more time and try more menu items before we return home.

If you like a casual atmosphere with fine dining cuisine, this is the place. Seemed a little pricey when we walked in. One bite and it was completely worth it! We will definitely go back to try other things. Meals were 5* and staff was attentive and friendly. Fun find!

They are dense and chewy cookies (my favorite type!) and also thick. :D Biscoff cookie (4.5/5)-- this one made me a fan! The cookie was sweet with pockets of Biscoff spread inside. Great for any Biscoff lover! The quality control isn't the best though, as the second time I had the cookie, it was dry and crumbly. If the cookie is usually dry like that, it would be more of a 3/5. I would risk another try though! Cookies and cream (4/5)-- this one was a good cookie too, capturing all the essence of an Oreo flavor. It didn't stand out in uniqueness but it was yummy :) this one was a little harder and crumblier than the Biscoff cookie, but now I wonder if it was just old or dried out... Pistachio brittle/toffee cookie (3/5)-- wasn't a fan of this one, as the taste was a bit off (either a little bitter or maybe artificial tasting?) and the brittle chunks were super hard, super sweet , and super sticky (like butterfinger filling but less melty!). The chunks were tasty (and veryyy sweet), but I had to pick them out and eat the separately since it didn't pair well with the cookie texture for me. MT says the service has always been nice, and they seemed really happy when he bought whole load of cookies, hehe~ Katie's Cafe is one of the go-to spots for his lunches out there!

But it just doesn't taste as good as it looks. Kind of bland. My favorite is red velvet cupcakes and these just don't do it for me. I have also tried the key lime pie. It was good other than the fact that they put too much lime zest in it. The people there are also very nice and they do have great service. The one thing that counts the most is what I'm paying for and that is the food. It's just not something I crave.

I don't often post about places when I'm out of town but I had to make an exception here. This place is incredible. Low key flex, I have had pastries in soooo many different places. This place goes toe to toe with all of them. SoCal, NorCal, PNW, Italy, whatever. All places I've had baked goods and all of those places this spot is competing with. You probably can't go wrong with what you pick but the scone options, cinnamon rolls, cake balls, bon Bons, edible cookie dough, cookies, truffles, cakes, and idk is there something I'm missing? It all looked incredible. I tried a cake ball, a bon bon, a truffle, and a cookie. All strictly elite. Farmhouse bakery I love you and I hate you. I love you because yum yum so good. I hate you because it will be forever until I can come back. Someone else go see her and tell her I love her please. (4.9 Stars)
