My child, for nine years (K-8), grew up in a caring community dedicated to bringing out the best in every student. Westminster's teachers are passionate about their subjects and truly go the extra mile to help students achieve academic success. Even more importantly, the emphasis of the school, as guided by a devoted administration, is the holistic growth of each child. It starts with the etiquette and respect for one's elders that is expected of all students; it continues with opportunities for enrichment such as taking classes on public speaking. It "ends" with the 8th grade play, the last of nine annual shows in which those who have attended Westminster since kindergarten will have performed a major role and which allows students to blossom into the poised, self-confident, self-aware, and ultimately well-rounded people they have consistently been raised to be. The lessons and impact of Westminster really never end. I cannot tell you how much my son mentions his time at Westminster and thanks its community for building him into who he is today. As an up and coming professional play-by-play broadcaster, he points to the extensive public speaking experience he received at a young age as a key factor in his success. He also often speaks of accomplishing tasks "neatly, completely, and with pride," a Westminster expectation for every student, faculty and administrative staff member of the school. While it may be daunting to think of the cost of a private school K-8 education, Westminster School is extremely competitive and the education your child receives will pay immense dividends throughout the rest of his or her life!

There are other excellent private schools in our area and we are also fortunate enough to have very good public schools too.

We loved that the kids enjoy pool time, arts and crafts, gym and playground time, field trips, daily hot lunch, and snacks all included in a fun, structured environment. The answer was my child application was still incomplete. At that point, their admission process was pointless, and I was no longer interested sending my child there. However, they already withdrew my $75 back in November. Why would they take my money when application was incomplete, and they didn't perform child assessment yet. Long story short, they gave out absurd excuses and the whole process was just a mess. Big waste of time and money. Out of multiple schools I applied to, this school was by far the most disorganized, money-driven school. I highly doubt quality of education from this school. I'm glad my child will be attending other school.

The education was stellar, and it prepared me extremely well for my future in junior high school. I have fond memories of mooning my first grade teacher at the encouragement of a fellow student, and afternoon meetings in The Pod, where on at least one occasion the anti-smoking people came to pass around chunks of blackened lung inside plastic to scare us away from that filthy habit. It worked. There was also a safety video depicting kids being taken on stretchers into ambulances... because naughty kids who threw things had injured them. My fondest memory of this place, however, was of the air raids. Once monthly or so, we'd practice the end of times when the air raid signal went off and we'd go into the halls, line up against the walls, duck and cover, expecting chunks of the ceiling to rain down upon our heads. Now I am having to fight just to get them to leave us alone. Apparently.... class and good breeding does not run amongst these busy bodies! The mere motto "live and let live" really needs to be stressed to these people. If someone does not wish for their child to go here show some class and part with respect. Do not continue to harass them months later, because you are jealous of their happiness. Live and let live people. Not everyone will find this school good and just because you don't want your homes to decrease in value or you don't want to get involved with your kids education does not make this a good school. That says more about you. This is a public school and somewhere along the way someone has misinformed them and left them with the thought that they are "special". What ever fairy dust was sprinkled by what ever fairy, the people in this neighborhood should really ban together and dust it off! You are a PUBLIC school and not a good one! My child's classmate reported a peer being punched in the face and the teachers doing nothing about it. The curriculum is very rigorous, which is great, however, 1 unit in almost every class usually lasts around 3-4 days: they cover too much in such a short period of time to try to cram everything in, and make the students learn the material through constant assessments. This is fine as they get a wide berth of knowledge, but don't learn the "in-depth" material and reasons behind the concepts unless they stay for another few years (this is because of their "spiraling" curriculum where they revisit concepts to add more depth). Every week, they have at least 1 quiz/test, (because of their math studies), but most weeks, it's 2 or 3. In addition to this, if your child stops for 30 seconds to tie their shoe 2 minutes after dismissal times due to a bathroom stop, they will immediately be asked to attend "Late Bird" for ~$45 because they are "delaying". There is no PE for middle/high school unless you take it as an elective. Lastly, the culture there is very toxic. There is hardly any sense of community as everyone is competing with each other and children often learn, from their peers, to believe that receiving a 99% on their test is "poor performance". The teachers do little to combat this, and this is the same attitude they have towards kids calling out derogatory comments in the midst of lessons.

In this time, my daughter was in three different classrooms and each teacher made her feel comfortable and helped tremendously with her development. They are perfect, they are accommodating, they are communicators, they go above and beyond and I love it! I love the monthly newsletters they keep me involved and aware of what's going on. I love that my son brings home a project every day our wall is so full of all his amazing art work. The facility is clean and very inviting changing out the bulletin boards each month. All staff wear mask, they label EVERYTHING lol and then send home daily notes explaining each child's day from how much they ate, to how many times they potty, how wonderful is that! I wouldn't choose anywhere else and we will be here as long as I am in this area!
