Came for early Saturday lunch with a friend who swears this is the best Thai restaurant in Prague. I have to say the food was quite good. The dining area is quite spacious and bright with nice big picture windows. The restaurant was pretty quiet but more people started coming in as we ate. An during the week it gets pretty packed for lunch and dinner - reservations are probably recommended. The dishes are a mix of Thai, Chinese, and Malaysian cuisine, and their lunch menu changes everyday. There is also an extensive wine and drink list. To eat, I had the Red curry with duck breast - flavored with coconut milk, pumpkin, pineapple, bamboo sprouts and sweet basil. The curry was so aromatic and rich in flavor! The dish comes HOT (spice level) and it actually had a nice kick. The Thai curries do not come with a side dish, so the Jasmine rice was extra. My friend had the yellow curry with tiger prawns, shiitake mushrooms and thai basil. That one was also delish! Another really good Thai restaurant here in Prague. I've also reviewed Maly Buddha, which I'd recommend more for a date since it's not that big inside and more intimate. However, Lemon Leaf is great for a group affair. Right near Karlovo Namesti, it's in a pretty lively area. The food is really good, and I was pleased with the service, as we had a really big group, and they catered to us so well. Stopped in for a quick lunch after seeing the Prague Castle. I love Pad Thai so decided to try it here. Since we arrived at the tail end of the lunch hour they were out of the daily soup and one other lunch special dish. The pad Thai was delicious and not too saucy. I asked for more spice to add to my plate - they gave me raw sliced mini chili's but no chili sauce. The raw chili were a bit much heat to add too many but boy were they flavorful. This is an excellent Thai restaurant. The location in Nové Mésto is quite convenient, the food is terrific and the service is good. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the prices are quite reasonable. The menu here has several Thai favorites. On my recent visit, I had the Tom Yam soup to start which was very good. For my main, I had the Phad Pre Wan Koong, which was accompanied by Jasmine rice. This was excellent with a taste that was spiced perfectly for me. The prices were quite reasonable for the meal I had. In addition to the soup and my main dish, I had a sparkling water to drink and a double espresso to finish. My total bill with tax and a small tip was 500 CZK. By my estimation, this was a very good deal. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a restaurant in the area and who fancies Thai cuisine. read more

I have just had one of the best meals for a long time and some of the best thai food ever. The location isn't exactly in centre, yet it is - without doubt - worth traveling for. We did not have a single dish that wasn't packed with flavour. Our starters were a papaya salad, thai beef salad, gyoza and a thai soup. Main dishes was pad thai, a spicy chicken soup w. fried rice and duck breast w. fried rice. All was absolutely stunning. I haven't had better thai food in life before. It was so delicious. 1 bottle of white wine + 1 glass of red wine + 2 liters water + 4 starters + 4 main dishes = 1900 CZK. I just can not believe that price. So, so cheap. The food was nice but not the best I've ever had as some here claim, had Tom Ka Kai which was very tasty, the salmon I got was a tad dry (but to be honest I've never eaten a perfectly baked salmon in a public restaurant) for desert I had a creme brûlée variation with lemongrass and supposedly ginger, couldn't find the ginger tho.. but the taste was alright. The service was alright but a slow, it took them about 15 minutes to notice that we where finished with the main course we waited about 30 minutes for our desert, this was a long long time especially because we had a (by that time) tired 2 year old with us.. All tables where booked, but they didn't have the manpower to serve all those tables well.. Also it's kinda weird to eat at a Thai where there's no Thai personnel.. This restaurant is beautiful, the decor is suburb, but the quality of food does not line up to the same quality of the atmosphere. A group of us tried to come here without reservations and they told us it would be about an hour wait so we decided to come back the next day because we heard good things about this place from the locals. The menu is extensive and has a lot of the traditional Thai dishes. I ordered chicken phad thai expecting the dish to be flavorful. The noodles tasted heated up and very bland. We came to Lemon Leaf for a lunch and it was great. The location is close to the river side so if you overeat you can take a nice walk along the river after. I got Pad Thai which was really good. Too many places in Prague make it with almost no flavor but this one was really balanced and after two thirds of the meal I was already full but couldn't really stop eating. The prices are rather cheap and this is the reason why it is usually rather crowded and noisy. If you feel like having good Thai meal for a reasonable price, this place is a good choice. Wow! What a disappointment. The restaurant itself was very attractive; large windows, high ceiling, nice decor. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the service started out very attentive. I decided on the prefix lunch, which included an appetizer, entrée and dessert. What I really wanted was a simple yellow chicken curry with chicken. They didn't have this on the menu, so I opted for the closest thing which was on the prefix menu. I asked for chicken instead of shrimp, but the server said flatly 'no.' My husband ordered chicken fried rice with sweet and sour sauce on the side. He's not a big fan of Asian food and he always orders the same thing. The steamed dumplings were TERRIBLE so I sent them back. They tried to deliver two appetizers that we never even ordered and my husband finally had to talk to the manager to straighten out our order. The curry shrimp arrived, but it was marginally edible. If you love Asian fish sauce, you would have liked it. I think fish sauce is delicious in small, limited quantities, but too much, and that's all you taste. I tasted fish sauce afterwards for hours. The dessert was some sort of horrible pumpkin thing. I have no other way to describe it: little quarter inch dice pieces of pumpkin and some sort of disgusting sauce. Not very desert-like to be sure. We live in Southern California, and we have an abundance of amazing Thai restaurants. This one was so disappointing. read more

Pad that came as a mountain of overcooked goop, which was supposed to be noodles, but was just pile of slime. They put probably a pint of soy sauce in it too. Great thai food with not-so-great service, that's how I would summarize my visit to Lemon Leaf. The restaurant has a convenient location close to Lazarska tram stop, yet it's not in the super-crowded area of Prague. The interior of the restaurant is kind of ordinary and you don't feel like in a Thai restaurant until you open the menu. Food is definitely the best thing about this place. As my friends (who are regular customers of this restaurant) told me, the curries here are the best in the city. I ordered a delicious sounding dish from the seasonal menu (Migati - chicken, red curry, peanuts, coconut milk, cilantro and rice noodles) and asked for a little less spiciness as I can only handle so much of heat in my food. The food was as delicious as it sounded however, still quite hot (I would probably not be able to eat the "normal" version of this food :-). As my friends later told me, even items that are not marked as hot in the menu are quite spicy so be careful what you order if you can't handle the heat so well. The great food experience was however ruined for me by the staff. We had a reservation for six people and as some of our friends were little late, we ordered just drinks and decided to wait for the rest with the food order. However, the waitresses kept coming back in like 2 minutes intervals asking us if we're ready to order which got pretty annoying after just 10 minutes. And their eagerness and hyperactivity didn't stop even after we ordered. They were hovering around us all the time, cleaning plates almost before you could put down the silverware and glasses before you finished your last sip. Another thing was the ignorance of the menu items. I wanted to order a coconut water/juice but the menu said "coconut milk juice" which is confusing (is it a milk or juice?!?). I asked the waitress and she was persuaded that it's not a milk so I ordered it only to get a snow-white milk seconds later (Grrrrrr!). The pronounced cherry on the top was when they brought their famous complimentary dessert at the end - there was only 5 portions for the 6 of us. Really?!? So if you want a good thai food and don't care about the atmosphere and the service, Lemon Leaf is the place. However, if you want your meal to be not only a culinary but also overall pleasant experience, try some other thai restaurant in Prague, there are plenty of them. read more

As others have said here, sometimes the food can be great. But only sometimes. And the service has always kind of sucked. I think the staff think they work in a really good restaurant, and don't realize that, in such a restaurant, the staff make the difference. I have been getting talked into coming here for years by friends who love it, and almost always have fairly meh food and pretty brusk (yet arrogant) service, and swear not to go again. But then 15 months later, I get talked into it again. And it is usually the same experience. Except for the rare times it isn't. But there are plenty of consistently good Thai places in town now, so Lemon Leaf needs to up their game to draw me back. read more
