Modry zub is a solid Thai place with great ambiance and decent Thai dishes. First off, it's a really nice-looking restaurant. The windows are huge, the seating is plush, and you feel like you're eating at a five-star restaurant for the price of a two-star. They also have a really extensive menu, much more expansive than just phad thai and all the really well-known dishes. It can be hard to find a place that serves papaya salad and they had it here! That being said, the dishes themselves were good, but not great. The papaya salad was nice and spicy but definitely not as crisp and sour as I like it, and had too much sauce, making the lower part a bit soggy. I really did not want to do this, however after todays trip to my all time favorite Thai restaurant in Prague I was throughly disappointed. To start, the servers were new, rude to us, and I am a regular here that has come to expect a certain level of service from this restaurant- and always get it- so to me this drastic change was unpleasant to say the least. Then our food took 40 minutes- but everyone else at their tables when we ordered were already eating so I was also quite confused by this. The thing that really shocked me was my favorite thing to get is the Pad Se U and as usual I order it and the chicken was obscenely gross. Hard, tough, some pieces were just inedible. Since our server had disappeared I had no one really to complain to so just pushed all the chicken to the side and ate around it. For a whopping 200 something crowns everytime I go here I am used to my own judgement of what to expect form them. I hate to do this but no restaurant that I rate 5 star can have these types of problems so I have to let Modry zub go off my list for Prague now. I have been at this restaurant when its crowded, busy, empty, daytime, nighttime, you get the point. Never have I had a problem with the service, the food taking forever or the quality of the meal I had. After this I cannot say I even want to go back. [OVERALL] In my 4 months here, this is the best Thai food in Prague (as good as Asian food gets in the Czech Republic). The prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are quite big. The service may be slow at times, but the waiters are nice and speak fluent English. The interior is super modern, the seats and sofas are very comfortable, and they always play really old throwback song covers of popular American artists. [FOOD] Fresh Rolls with Duck: You can taste the duck flavor well, and the sauce is good. There's a lot of mint inside, so if you don't like that flavor, you can take it out, as it does overpower everything else. Po Pia Tod (Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls): Even though there's no meat, these are really filling and taste really good. The rolls are nice a crispy too. Phad Thai Kai: Pretty solid and filling. Get it if you don't know what you want. Phad Se-U: Nice and flavorful. The broccoli always tastes really good. Phad Khi Mao: Not all too spicy, but it's the most flavorful wok noodle dish I've had. Phad Thai Tofu: The same as the Phad Thai Kai - both taste pretty good. Kaeng Phed (Red Curry): Not really spicy at all. My friend likes to request the curry be "as spicy as possible" - it just gets a little more spicy (just a small kick really) and gets chili peppers added. A pretty solid curry though, nice and flavorful. Thai Iced Tea: It does NOT taste like the classic orange Thai iced tea. Rather, it tastes more like milk tea. We were in Prague on vacation. We are from Southern California and we have plenty of excellent restaurants in our city, including Thai cuisine. We patronized Modry Zub when we were in Prague and were genuinely impressed with their unique choices. We loved the hot pot, very appropriate for a cold evening. We were impressed with their service. This is a pretty decent Thai place in Prague if that's what you're looking for! I can't comment much on the price since this dinner was paid for by my school, but just at a first glance, it seems like it has decent prices for dinner. Anyways, I wound up getting the fresh lemonade, an appetizer platter, the salmon, and a chocolate cake for dessert. The lemonade was actually quite good! It definitely felt fresh and they have a wide variety of flavors so I recommend you try it out when you come here. The appetizer platter was great because it gave you a little taste of all of their different appetizers. They had some shrimp crackers, fried shrimp, beef and chicken satays, and rolls which were all delicious! My salmon was the only reason that this place gets a 4 stars instead of 5. I told them that I wanted the salmon to be the most spicy it can be and I was utterly disappointed by the spice. I really didn't even feel anything so that was pretty disappointing for me because I was expecting a really nice kick even though nothing in Prague is very spicy. Anyways, the dessert was also pretty good, it was a standard chocolate cake, but I'll probably be coming back here when I want a bit of a more expensive Thai lunch or dinner! read more

A fellow Canadian who was living in Prague suggested that we try Modry Zub. I first went with three friends in June of 2015. We all got pad thai dishes. Portions were huge. Prices very reasonable. Food was excellent. Tons of flavour. Very spicy if you ask for it extra, extra hot. I went back in 2016 with my girlfriend. Food was just as good. We ordered shrimp pad thai and chicken pad thai. Food was 9/10. Unfortunately, the service was a let down. I generally do not give bad reviews based on service, although in this case it was really bad. Both waitresses we had were very rude. Where do I start. My husband and I ate here while we were in Prague during our honeymoon. The food is superb. My husband had a peanut sauce pad Thai and I had a spicy noodle dish, and we ordered spring rolls on the side that came with a chili sauce that was delicious. Cute little Thai restaurant with downstairs and upstairs seating. Upstairs was busy and full of locals. Delicious fried spring rolls to start, and the red curry with chicken was some of the best I have ever had! I wholeheartedly recommend it! My sisters and I decided to go here after a long day of exploring Prague and reading the 4 stars review on Yelp. Unfortunately, the waiter got all 3 of our orders wrong and insisted we ordered things that we have never even heard of. While it may be possible he misheard us when we were ordering, he did not his head in affirmation as if he heard and understood what we were saying. When we told him that none of the stuff he brought to the table was anything we ordered he insisted that it was what he wrote down. When we tried the food, it was barely edible. Had Tom yum soup with prawns, veggie spring rolls and pad se ew (pork) here with the hubby... Spring rolls were fine, can't go wrong with that. The soup was so spicy I think they used Thai chili in it - not normal level of spicy... The server had said the soup was same spicy level as my original noodle dish (that he recommended) so I asked to hold off making it so I can order something else (pad se ew). He was not happy, said they're already making it, they'll make it "less spicy". I refused it as I couldn't even drink the soup and they didn't take it back - didn't want to risk wasting $350+ for nothing. The pad se ew came, super salty. I know it's not Thailand here, but it's so salty... Wrong sauce and noodle used (as another yelper also noted) - and on top of it, the pork was undercooked that I didn't even eat it.
