I've been trying to make the most of my current productive writing momentum and what better place to do that than at the library. I've been touring the libraries of San Diego county and enjoying the heck out of it! I hadn't been to the Lemon Grove Library in ages except to drop off ballots. It was remodeled years ago and done extremely well. The space is open and bright with lots of good seating and tables. The nice cool space was perfect to work on the ridiculously hot summer day, too. The library had a few people moving or sitting about. I picked and sat at a table in the middle and enjoyed the calm and quiet atmosphere. It was just what I needed for two hours of uninterrupted writing. Thank you Lemon Grove Library for creating a perfect environment! read more

The stuff at the library and very kind and helpful. The library is clean and their workrooms offer privacy and focus.

The staff is always really helpful. I always rent books from here. They offer printing services (15 cents per page if I recall) and they always have security walking around. I feel safe at this library, and I enjoy the wide selection of books they have. read more

I like this library and some of the staff are really nice. I just wish it was more quite. I'm in there studying for school and the librarians talk really loud with other staff members or with people checking out materials. When I'm in the study room, there's a staff member in the other room who has her phone on speaker to listen to messages or talks on the phone. My daughter was in there with me and we heard the person on the other end cussing. People have cell phones going off and when the kids come in after school, they don't tell them to keep it quiet. I'm always respectful when walking in there. Have my phone on mute and use my quiet voice when asking the staff a question. I don't know what happened lately that people lost respect for others who are there for some quiet time to read or do work. read more

I would give this library zero stars if I could. I recently visited this library and thought the location was close to closing down because their shelves are empty, literally empty. The little reading material that is available is of poor selection and one is not able to order from their Link Plus System. But what was extremely troubling was when my auntie told me she was kicked out by a staff member during a visit. Yes it was just a few minutes after closing but, the staff member helping her was almost done with her order when another staff member approached my auntie and said, "we need to secure the building, you need to leave." Come to find out, that is the assistant manager?! That was a rude and unprofessional approach and she needs to learn how to provide good customer service! read more

I enjoy this little library when I have headphones plugged in people can be noisy and bang on the keyboards at time. Other people can be disrespectful by talking on their phone really loud in Spanish as if they were the only ones in the library (I'm Mexican so I know how loud our culture is but still!) people need to go into a library to get work stuff done and to study. It takes the librarians and the aides a few minutes to quiet people down which is annoying because it's obvious that they're being super loud. Other than that, I love it because it's down the street from my home and doesn't get so crowded. I also love how they have kids activities as well. Grat small library in my neighborhood. It really has come along way, good services. I like that I can request a book online and pick up at whatever location I desire. Staff is always friendly and helpu.l Like the book store. A lot of gently used books to choose from for around .75 i got two cookbooks. Buy one get one.. I really enjoy coming here. They have free wifi and a 3d printer for the public to use. One downside is rhe parking. There is not enough parking and its shared with the middle school i think. I park on the street to avoid chaos. read more

This library sucks!!!! I went in yesterday for the first time ever and once I went inside I knew I would hate it. I thought libraries were quiet; a space where you can do homework, study, read, etc. Sorry to break it to you, but not at this one! It was loud and very distracting. I wasn't able to finish doing my homework, I had to leave! Towards the end two teens came in and I think one of them was tutoring the other...the girl was talking way too loud. If you're in a library you should be whispering, at least that's what I think. This didn't really seem like a library, more like a place where kids come in to hangout. Won't be coming back here. read more

This is a nice looking library with open beam ceilings. The problem is the LOUD voices at the front desk. The librarian's voice and the customer's voices are loud and echo through the whole building! The talking up front was non-stop. That's what I experienced during the hour I was there on 4/11/17 at 2:30pm. This is not an setting conducive to a quiet study area! The parking lot is in the back of the building unless you're lucky enough to get a parking spot on the street next to the front entrance. You have to walk all the way around to the front. By comparison, the La Mesa library has a nice front access parking lot next to the fire station and post office. read more

Always be sure to use a VPN service when accessing open WiFi hotspots like these so other people cannot sniff your data. UPDATE: Unfortunately the WiFi speed dropped drastically by 3pm... 2.5 Mbps down, 3 Mbps up. read more

Happy overall with the library. It's clean, orderly however that being said it seems like a lot of employees have been transferred out and new ones in. Unfortunately most of them do not have the knowledge that the prior staff used to. I gave four stars because it seems in general that it is difficult to get assistance from the employees. They seem to have no background in authors, the ability to help place an order for either movies or books that are currently not at the location. I had multiple occasions when my books were not checked in and they were found on the shelves. I was credited my fees when they saw that the mistake was on their end however that being said I have asked now for my books to be checked in by hand instead of through the Dropbox and when I asked for them to check in my books they seem annoyed by my asking for their assistance even when they appear to be just sitting at the desk with no other patrons needing their assistance. I have explained my history with them not checking in my books through the Dropbox and that's why I asked them to do it in front of me they still seem annoyed and to have a bit of an attitude of assisting me. It's just not as pleasant a place in the last year as it was prior. read more

I lived in Lemon Grove from 1997 to 2017. If anyone has lived there as long as I did will remember the old library they HAD which was located behind ARCO am pm across the street from Whale of a wash. The old location was maybe as big as a 2 car garage, so this newer location by the school is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Let me start off by saying, yes when the kids get out of school they tend to dwell near the entrance talking and laughing. I do see the librarian tell them to leave the area unless they can be quiet, which for me is no big problem because the first time I came to this location I saw that it was built next door to a school, so I put 2 and 2 together and made sure I always had construction grade ear plugs and headphones ready in my bag at all times. Aside from that minor problem I always got the studying, job hunting, reading, renting or whatever I needed to do done. They have several study rooms, a conference area, kids area, book store, good WI-FI service, book selection and DVD/blu-ray rentals available. The old Lemon Grove library had hardly any of those perks!!! so aside from the minor things I did not like much this library gets an excellent rating from a long time Lemon Grove resident! read more

What a horrible library the Lemon Grove branch is when it comes to quietness. The San Diego County library system should be ashamed of itself. The library is located right next to a big Lemon Grove grade school. Every afternoon around 3pm, the library is flooded with loud, sometimes unruly kids. It seems to be more of a place for many of them to hang out until they get picked up by their parents. Meanwhile those of us who need to have a quiet study environment to focus in are interrupted. What was the county thinking putting a library in such a location? Too bad considering the nice layout of the building. read more

I visit all libraries in my area regularly this library is probably the most beautiful and regal building of its kind I really like the set up it's much easier to find things then some libraries I think it beats alcohol library with a stick they have free rental of DVDs where other East County Libraries charge $1 to rent a DVD can't beat it talk Martin 6 Series awesome read more

library is clean and the staff is helpful. Place is interesting enough to peak the interest of the local middle school kids and keeps them outta trouble who can argue with that. Other than that the movie and book selection is good and the 3D printer is wicked cool. The Grove is making it. read more

It's an overall nice place considering staff and cleanliness. I used to like their old schedule (closed at 8 Mon thru Thu). Now the schedule is a mess, shorter hours and hard to remember. Definitely five stars if brings back old schedule. read more

This is a small library is next to a school but is cute. If you want to chill is a cute place, but is more for kids or teens.

Has a book store, child and teen section, and internet use. You can also checkout movies, CDs, and audio books.
