You can check online which parks it's eligible for, but I got it specifically for Torrey Pines to go hiking. It was surprisingly busy on the Friday afternoon I went. The computers were full of young kids reminded me of my childhood and people walking through the aisles. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in helping me activate my library card. I got from San Diego comic con back in 2022 an account was super easy and so was checking out this past which saved me at least $20. Don't sleep on libraries. You get a bunch of cool perks. Plus your taxes pay for it already anyway, so might as well take advantage.

I've been touring the libraries of San Diego county and enjoying the heck out of it! I hadn't been to the Lemon Grove Library in ages except to drop off ballots. It was remodeled years ago and done extremely well. The space is open and bright with lots of good seating and tables. The nice cool space was perfect to work on the ridiculously hot summer day, too. The library had a few people moving or sitting about. I picked and sat at a table in the middle and enjoyed the calm and quiet atmosphere. It was just what I needed for two hours of uninterrupted writing. Thank you Lemon Grove Library for creating a perfect environment!

I kind of got a classic retro feel, but not in annoying way. There's a lot of inclines and declines on some of the streets so be aware of that if you visit. The inclines and tight streets got a little irritating but were manageable in the end. I got to walk around the community a little bit during Oktoberfest, it was super quiet and relaxed. I had several nice strolls. My most recent visit was during the fall season and I'm not going to lie it's getting hotter and hotter here, it was almost in the hundreds on my thermostat! I repeat CA weather is NOT perfect, that's a major lie. Most of the community was pretty polite, we ran into one very friendly lady during Oktoberfest and she was honestly super gracious and welcoming!

Correction: That may or may not be true, as I don't really know Lemon Grove's actual borders, so I may have spent time passing through here on the freeway without knowing it. It seems like a pretty run-down city. I'm all for a diamond in the rough and not judging a book by its cover and understanding and acknowledging an old place's charm or at the very least its onetime charm even if that charm has long since faded. I'm not even basing my review on how the city looks or makes me feel. This review is based on two things: the conditions of the streets in Lemon Grove, and its neighborhoods. I don't think I've seen asphalt is condition this poor anywhere other than abandoned roads, and even many of those roads had portions that were still decent. It feels like 70 percent or more of Lemon Grove's streets need their pavement replaced badly. I may be being generous. Why do citizens put up with this? I'm not talking about potholes; I'm talking about degraded asphalt that should have been replaced decades ago. I'm not exaggerating. Just based on that, I would never voluntarily live here. The neighborhoods are cute in an old-California spread-out kind of way. Not quite the 1950s, but the 1920s and 1930s, or at least what I know about them. There are lovely groves of orange and lemon trees in people's yards. Some of the houses are run down, of course, and some front yards are a mess. But other people take pride in their little pieces of the American dream, which makes the sorry state of the street conditions that much more depressing. I think Lemon Grove is my least favorite city in San Diego County.

When you walk in you see lots of cute accessories, stickers, notebooks, and pens. They also have everything set up by genre. They're walls have new releases, signed, bargain, romance adjecent, dark romance, special editions, contemporary, classic, and then upstairs there is paranormal and fantasy. Definitely make sure you check every shelf! There is so many choices and so many titles. They also have a sticker wall with so many awesome stickies to choose from. They have display tables that always catch my eye, and stuff hanging on the walls to show upcoming releases, events, and good stuff to know! I love coming here and looking for monster romance and queer romance!

When you first walk in, you're greeted by the cutest mural on your right hand side. There's a vending machine for mini art prints for $1 and proceeds go to charity (quarters available at register). Staff here is very nice & welcoming! There is a wide selection of romance novels. I appreciate the bookseller recommendations with the staff's suggestions and descriptions of the books. There's a fun mystery book selection where you don't know what you're getting with short descriptions as well. In addition to books, there's a wide selection of stickers, bookmarks, notebooks, and a small section of earrings, tote bags & socks. They also sell candles & mugs. There is a small upstairs section with more books. And there was a lot of signage for different events. They have going on including book clubs and bedazzling events. Overall, a great experience. Purchased a few items and joined their rewards club. Will be back!
