Lemere Electric was very responsive to my initial inquiry, gave me a quote and set up a day for the work to be done. Brian came to the house on time, reviewed the scope of the work and gave me some good input on my options. He installed 3 ceiling fans, two floor outlets and four led canned lights. Don't even bother with a bid from Lemere. Seriously, we can not recommend Brian. For us, he was a very difficult person to work with and talk to. He was initially over 50 minutes late for his appointment to give us a bid. When I greeted him, he was not friendly and he said nothing of his tardiness. He continued to be very cold, rude and short to my wife and I while we tried to talk with him about what we wanted done. Our neighbors recommended Lemere to us and had said his work was good, but didn't tell us until after we got our bid that Brian was also very cold and rude to them. The main purpose of our bid was to add a couple of new outlets to existing circuits for a sewing room. Once the bid was settled, we had a total of two days worth of work all scheduled with Lemere, but in the afternoon of the day before the work was to start, we got an email from Lemere. The email stated they would not add the new outlets as they had specified in the last bid we got from them. It said we would have to instead get dedicated 20 amp circuits installed for the new outlets. We are guessing this was all because Brian saw my wife owns a 1800 watt clothes iron. We told Lemere we were only going to use 1200 watt irons, which we also own. But they still refused to add the new outlets without the new circuits. So, after what was 2+ months total to get this bid, get it finalized and on their schedule, we felt like we were being forced at the last minute to change the finalized bid and pay more, or to cancel the work. We canceled with this single line email: "Guess you're forcing us to cancel. I'll leave our review online." After canceling, here was Lemere's reply, assuming our review would be bad: "I really don't appreciate the games or the nasty comments. We are following the rules of electrical code. If you want to cancel, that is fine. If you are going to threaten us with a bad review that is your choice. I will not hesitate to contact the board of building and safety on this matter and I will also make sure that our colleagues here in the valley understand the type of business that you do. I am a member of the electrical board at building and safety and we are a very small community of electricians here in Idaho. Be it as it may, but the division of building and safety will red flag you for what you are doing and then it will be good luck getting any work done for yourself. This has been completely unprofessional of you. Sincerely, Heather Lemere Lemere Electric" After reading these two emails, which response sounds more threatening and unprofessional to you? We have all of our original email correspondence with Lemere if anyone is interested. There were never any of "the games or the nasty comments." made until the last response shown above from Lemere. Their final response made us feel bullied and obligated to write this review in full disclosure. So be warned, the lesson for all of us here is, if you want Lemere (Brian) to install any additional outlets that are connected to an existing circuit, be sure to hide any plug-in appliances or tools in your house that use more than 1200 watts. read more

Setting up the appointment was easy and Brian was awesome! The solution to the problem ended up being an easy fix (swapping out an outlet that had gone bad) but it gave me peace of mind knowing an expert was assessing the situation. Brian was very knowledgeable but also really easy to talk to. He knows a lot about old houses (like mine) and I actually learned a few things. Do not even bother looking around for another electrician. Seriously. I am fairly disloyal when it comes to paying for services (hair, electricians, cars, anything) and will basically hire whoever can come the fastest slash whoever is the cheapest slash some combo of those plus decent reviews. If I needed electrical work done, I would wait a month for this guy. Maybe 2. He's so good, so efficient, and as far as installation goes you get way more for your money - he spent at least 3 total hours planning out where to place new canned lighting/LED wafers so that the light would fall in the most highly utilized areas of the room and also be aesthetically pleasing on the ceiling when factoring in existing fixtures. He was also literally HALF the cost of other quotes I got. I can't say enough about my experience. He installed two new outlets, added 5 wafer lights on a high, steeply pitched vaulted ceiling, gave me advice about a new exhaust fan and how my husband could probably do it himself and what to look for, and also changed out a couple existing fixtures. And in the course of his work spruced up some fixtures my husband had put up. I rarely take time to write reviews - just call Brian. read more
