I bought a pair of glasses on Thursday and they are ready to pick up on Saturday !! So they should as I paid so much for them.
I didnt have an eye test here but spotted the glasses in the window and went from there.
The optometrist went on and on about different lenses which I couldnt understand and it feels like he was going to sell me a car until I stopped him as I dont want to pay more for the lenses than I did for the frames. Still feeling a bit ripped off because It was all about the money ££££
I showed him my prescription and he measured my eyes for the glasses to sit properly etc and then he was back to being the Optometrist rather than a car salesman. I understand this is a business but I get annoyed that the glasses are a necessity and we can wear whatever frame we choose: be it budget or designer but why is there such a mark up on the lenses??
They start from £65 up to £400. I felt I had to go somewhere in the middle but did I ? If you pay for decent frames you want to not have cokebottle eyes and with todays technology why would they not all be thinned down lenses that are scratch proof , bullet proof with xray vision and clean themselves etc??? read more
