i contracted with sts impact windows and doors to install hurricane impact windows and doors in my…read morehouse in boca raton. the salesperson was friendly appeared capable and made several visits to measure with more experienced fellow workers. we spent a great deal of time together but i realized after the job that the company failed to communicate any of the potential issues or additional costs and they never took the time to visit the job site during the installation. the entire experience became a total disaster! on the day of the installation, i learned the installation crew were not employees but an outside contractor. after the first windows were removed, i questioned the method of removing them as the damage to the walls around the windows during the replacement was extensive. the sub-contractor told me his crew would do the repairs but at additional cost. as i was fortunate to have a contractor working at the house, i told the sts representative that i was not interested in his offer. *the cost of repairing the windows came to more than 25% of the total job cost.* no representative of sts visited the work site during the installation and no one mentioned we should expect the extensive damage that we experienced. after the installation speaking with sts employees, they told me the salesperson and the sub-contractor had been fired. we were told that the windows were custom made for our space. after the installation we learned that all of our window shutters were now useless since the new windows were a different size. sts failed to mention this and as we were getting custom windows, we did not consider new shutters would be needed. being industry professionals and claiming to pride themselves in excellence and their values, one would expect sts would inform their customer that the shutters would be rendered useless and the customer should expect to replace them. *we did replace the shutters and this added almost 30% more to the job.* so much more of this disaster to share. bushes were trampled and broken all around the house. a desk was taken apart without our knowing and damaged, new carpeting was not protected and was stained. finishing pieces for the doors were not available during the installation and took six weeks after the installation to install. sts has taken no responsibility for the lack of communication, shoddy workmanship, damages to our property and terrible service. *stay away from this unprofessional company as they have zero interest in customer service and don't appear to have any experience window experts on their staff.*

Since we are located on a corner, everyone traveling past our home will surely see the vast improvement of our screening and new patio door. This is a company in business for over 37 years for a reason. You should consider Screen Builders for your home. We did and am very happy.

Calling our experience with Screen Builders "less than stellar" would be an understatement. When…read morethe two installers initially built our screened lanai, we didn't realize how many problems we would encounter. As we spent more time using the enclosure, we noticed bugs constantly getting inside--even though we paid extra for higher-quality mesh screening. We also discovered that the gutter was improperly installed. When it rained, water leaked onto the patio because the installers had jammed the metal into place, leaving gaps where bugs could enter. The end cap was crooked and poorly assembled. The workmanship looked like something a child had put together. I contacted Screen Builders (numerous times) and asked whether they would consider this acceptable work if it had been done at their own home. We paid thousands of dollars for a screened enclosure, only to be frustrated by poor workmanship, bugs, and rainwater leaking through the improperly installed gutter. Thankfully, Tito eventually came out to address the problems. Tito took genuine pride in his work. Tito removed the back of the gutter and completely redid it to correct the installation errors. It took him two days to properly fix what the original installers had done. Tito was professional, diligent, and clearly committed to doing the job correctly. I truly appreciate the care Tito put into fixing the problems. If everyone at Screen Builders took the same pride in their work as Tito, I would have no hesitation recommending the company. Unfortunately, the original installers' poor workmanship overshadowed Tito's excellent effort. Based on our overall experience, I cannot recommend Screen Builders.
