For us, it was important to have a consistent, responsive loan officer who understood our needs and our market, that is why we called Chris Sittig. We have turned to Chris for our lending needs in the past and once again did a great job. He is always professional in presenting the lending options to meet our needs. He is always available to answer our questions directly by phone, text or email and he is willing to rerun the numbers based on our evolving needs and changing markets. Chris was a great communicator throughout the process, which is not the experience we had with seeking assistance from the online lenders who promised low rates. In fact, the loan rate we received from First Home Mortgage was lower than the two online lenders we consulted. There is no doubt, the lending process is becoming commoditized, but relationships can not. In our experiences, when you are making one of the biggest purchases of your life or refinancing, you need a consistent, available and trusted partner and Chris exceeds those expectations.

With such a strong financial profile, I expected better rates and more transparency. Instead, I felt blindsided by this massive fee at closing. The communication throughout was poor, and it felt like I was being penalized rather than rewarded for being a well-qualified borrower. This was not the level of service or honesty I expected. If you're working with this lender, ask detailed questions about points and rate adjustments early, and do not assume you're getting the best deal just because you qualify for one. Cazle Mortgage secured two loans for my family and I to purchase the home of our dreams. No…read morecomplaints there. After closing, as many mortgage service providers do, they "sold" one of the loans to another company. I repeatedly reached out to both Cazle and the other company over the next two months in order to make my first mortgage payment on time, as the company that they sold our loan to didn't recognize our names in the system and ultimately, never received our loan. (I have at least 8 emails and many recorded calls documenting my efforts.) Unfortunately, Cazle dropped the ball and we got caught in the crosswinds. Instead of attempting to remedy the situation, or even apologizing in a meaningful way for their mistake, the harassment began by Gary Becker and Barry Diggins, the owner of Cazle Mortgage. I was berated for not having made timely mortgage payments and accused of trying to avoid my financial responsibility. This was particularly disappointing with respect to Gary, who held our hand through the loan application process, and seemed to understand how important our new home was to our family. Ultimately, through no help of Cazle Mortgage, I got the paperwork from the correct lender, and made all payments to date. Perhaps this was a unique situation? I don't know. As owners of multiple real estate properties, and working professionals, we have never experienced the lack of professionalism, nasty harassment and ultimate narcissism displayed by Barry - especially during the holiday season. Cazle Mortgage leaves a lot to be desired. Buyer beware.

When we put an offer on our house and it was accepted, my agent sent all paperwork to Rick and his team. I regret that decision every day. The service through the teams lack of communication, organization, and VA skills made it a very painful process. They did not communicate well so I had to send the same documents to different ppl on the same team. I got ao frustrated, i ended up putting them all on email copy to tell them it is their job to share docs and to communication. They dragged their feet scheduling a VA appraisal- if you use VA you understand the relevance of a timing VA scheduling. They had me emailing around documents instead of using the portal. And in the end, they didn't account for our homeowners insurance in their closing numbers. I thought it was paid until I got a letter of cancellation. We had to pay out od pocket. Truly one of the most stressful closings Ive ever had because of their lack of professionalism during what is already a stressful time. There are much better companies.
