I cancelled my policy after an Auto renewal (less than 48 hours after the renewal) due to a price hike. I have a clean record and without warning my policy went up by more than $20 a month. They pulled $107 from my account for the payment. They then took about 9 weeks to return my money, of which only $50 was returned due to a multitude of fees that they had trouble explaining. My mother was speaking to a guy named Nathan (ext. 2023) and I don't know who is more of a moron, him or his supervisor. They will say and do anything just to not pay for the damages to your car. Nathan literally told my mother, "Why did you purchase a Camaro? Isn't it odd that you have three vehicles on file?" As if it's odd to be a black woman who owns multiple cars! I would rate them less stars if it were possible. My Adjuster was Cynthia Zapata and the Supervisors name was Edgar. I think I would LOVE having their jobs because they get paid to do absolutely nothing. I had the same experience as all the other people's reviews below. It took me a month after my accident to get someone on the phone simply to find out what the process was. They closed my claim before I ever talked to someone and said my medical bills would most not likely be covered by them... before seeing any medical records or even asking what my injuries were. Looks like they're at their worst right now. I haven't even got my insurance cards I'm a first-time customer and they canceled my policy without notice because my card got stolen. They will not allow you to just call in payments or pay online. You have to be on automatic payments. They are also very inflexible as far as setting up a good due date for you. They will not change your policy and you have to make a payment on time otherwise you get your policy canceled and it cost $20 to reinstate it plus a $3 phone fee. It makes it look bad on the customers end And it makes them look better on their end. I don't even get started on the fact that the agent didn't know half of what she was saying. A Food Delivery truck that uses this company as their insurer hit my truck while parked at 3am back in mid Sept. while doing a drop off at the school across the street while I slept(What a thing to wake up tom but hey it happens). Got a quote for the repairs that same morning for right under 7k. This company sent out an assessor, and later that week I got an email with their price quote of 4.5k, pricing out the repair parts from salvage yards. I replied back letting them know that will not work for me and I'd be glad to go get another quote. Fast forward to today(11/02), I have still not heard a single word back from them. I think I'm going to have to forward this accident to my lawyers and send them the video of the accident and call recording from the owner of the business admitting complete fault and that it would be taken care of quickly, without issue, and at no cost to me. Hopefully they get this taken care of before I have to do this... I see all the other 1-star reviews on here, and I don't mean to take away anything from them. My experience was different, and I'm just here to say it because I think it's worth considering. It may have been because it was a small issue, but we didn't have a horrible experience. A customer of Legacy backed into our car when my wife was parked in the parking lot at her doctor's office. We filed the claim with them and then waited too long for an adjuster to come out. This is the main issue we had. It was, I think, 9 days before the car got looked at. From there it was smooth. We got a generous appraisal that covered all of the damage, and $27 per day for a rental for 4 days. Chris, assigned to our claim, was courteous and easy to work with once we got him on the phone (which did take a few tries). All in all, it wasn't horrible. I wouldn't choose them as my insurance, but that's because I like a really deluxe plan (broken windshield coverage, roadside assistance, comprehensive coverage with a low deductible, etc). But if I was back in college and broke still, I would consider Legacy with Freeway and the General as a low-cost option. read more

The driver that was at fault carries Legacy. My car has been in the shop for nearly 4 weeks now because they WILL NOT do their jobs! They aren't reviewing the supplement sent to them from the shop, they don't call back when they say they will, and they WILL give you the run around every chance they get. I've spoken to a number of people, and managers, Tim, Ramona and others....all don't care whether you get help or not. Its either system issues, managers in meetings, or any other excuse they can give. They LITERALLY told me to "figure it out" when I asked how I was going to get to work because they won't allow my car to be released. It seems as if I cannot get away from this terrible insurance company. The agent replies, "well insurance has gone up" whenever I question what is up with my consistently rising rates. I was rear ended by some who was insured with this awful fraudulent company and the insured admitted to fault and it took them over 2 months to get my car fixed and they didn't pay for a rental i had to figure that out and then about a month into borrowing cars or using uber MY insurance provided me a rental..... and now they don't want to pay for anything other then my doctors bill no reimbursement for missed work, transportation, or anything and each time they make an offer it goes down! My vehicle was involved in a claim with someone who had Legacy Insurance as their provider. Let me say it started with taking a week to get someone out to look at the vehicle and send over numbers to the office. I then had to wait for check to be sent to be able to have vehicle repaired. While vehicle was in the shop (an SUV) I had to pay for my own rental up front to be reimbursed $20 a day for an economy vehicle only. Trying to get ahold of someone at Legacy is impossible. You will get an automated system just to reach a voicemail for any representative. When you get a live answer they want to redirect you to your claims person just so you can leave another voicemail. The so called supervisor has received over 5 messages from me in a 1 month period and to this day still hasn't responded. Our vehicle was two weeks old when it was damaged. It now shows front end damage on car fax, when asked about value, Beth asked us to do research and send her results. Value dropped by 3,000 on vehicle and Beth states their evaluation was less than $500. Still no response from Beth or acting Supervisor Marvin. Please research Legacy before ever buying coverage from them! read more

I worked at this so called insurance company for 3 months too long. They offer no training when you're hired. Instead they have you sit with people for 3 days and on the 4th day they start assigning you claims and transferring you pending. System is designed for failure. On the 4th day you don't even know how to work the system but you're already behind on the work that has been assigned to you. So it's impossible to give good or even decent customer service because your overloaded with claims. The computer and phone systems go out on a daily basis. The phone cuts off after 7-10 minutes. So good luck on taking recorded statements and speaking with customers. You will constantly have to call people back and apologize. My favorite is when you can receive incoming calls but you can't hear the caller. You lose about 2 hours each day with phone and system issues that your work becomes unmanageable on top of being short staffed. Very small office (Only 2-4 adjusters) If you're new expect to get abused with claim load because they hand pick who gets claims and if the team lead feels you're not busy enough she will transfer you her claims. By the way the team lead was fired and rehired so that should tell you how desperate they are for employees. You have to write out all your letters they have no letter system. They use a very old claim system and retrieving your workload is very time consuming. No room for advancement. THEY ONLY HAVE 4 ADJUSTERS where would you advance to??? HORRENDOUS!!! Accident occurred 6/16/17. My tire was bent, my alignment was messed up, there was some suspension damage, and of course body work that needed to be completed. My vehicle shook violently like it was going to fall apart while I drove it, but I couldn't get a call back from Legacy until the end on June on what I needed to do or what protocol to follow. It was finally on 7/3/17 that I was "approved" to take my "not-drivable" vehicle to the shop. I took it in on 7/5 and not was not completed until 7/26. It sat there for 3 weeks, while I paid for a rental car out of pocket. The body shop said they called Legacy multiple times a day with no response. They called both John and his supervisor Edgar. They just needed a single document one time. Another time, they needed verbal conformation that they could continue repairs. NO ONE CALLED BACK for days on end. My vehicle was estimated to be completed in less than a week, but because of the clear negligence and hostility from the adjuster, it was over 3 weeks - mind you this is 3-4 weeks AFTER the initial incident occurred and I was getting nowhere with John. I chose to go above his head and deal with Edgar, his supervisor. John caught wind of that, and called me immediately to verbally abuse me. We argued, he was so rude, condescending, and blaming me for even calling him for help! He interrupted me, he made me feel stupid, worthless, a complete annoyance and waste of his time. I told him at that time, I refused to speak with him any further and all correspondence regarding my case would be through his supervisor, with my insurance agent, and with the auto body shop. I never wanted to hear his voice again. I was FURIOUS. I cannot believe he thought he could get away speaking to me in that manner. And of course, his supervisor did nothing. Edgar didn't apologize on John's behalf or say he would address the issue. It was looked over and avoided, no matter how many times I brought it up in our single conversation. John has Edgar's protection and nothing was done to ensure me that things were dealt with. I'm not the only one who is angry here. The poor people at the Abra Body Repair and Glass body shop had some pretty volatile, choice words to use in reference to John, Edgar, and Legacy as a whole. They are so disgusted and were actually getting angry - on my behalf because I didn't deserve this kind of treatment. The auto body shop is so sick of dealing with Legacy, they pray they never have to deal with them again. Legacy finally cut the checks, but shorted the amount that was actually due. The auto body shop was so done dealing with them, they just decided to 'eat' the extra cost just to avoid anymore contact with Legacy. They would rather LOSE money than make more more call to Legacy. THAT should say something right there. John Camargo (ext 2094) and his supervisor Edgar Gullien (ext 2220) need to be written up at MINUMUM, but probably just fired. If they did it to me, they're doing it to others, They need to be held accountable. They are terrible human beings and have no concept of what customer service is. Based on how horribly I was treated, how they disrespected and refused to call the auto body shop back, and then for me to get a retaliatory message from John... are you kidding me? 100% complete LACK of customer service. This place is by far the WORST of the WORST. Luckily for me, I saved EVERYTHING. So when I received a letter back from Annette Garcia, QA Claim Analyst Manager, Ext 2626, she took no responsibility, no accountability, and did not even bother to apologize for my mistreatment, how I was put out, how they shorted the auto body shop, and how I got a retaliatory response from John after filing a formal complaint. We had a lying piece of trash named Tamara Ragozina back into our car in Colorado Springs and knowing she was guilty she handed over her drivers license and insurance information and begged us not to call the local Police. Since she seemed compliant we just took pictures of the scene and her drivers license. Well guess what, the piece of trash has made up a story that we backed into her which is impossible since our car does not move sideways and she crushed our passenger rear fender completely in while she was backing recklessly across the parking lot trying to get a parking space. absolutely terrible experience. I called twice a day for 3 weeks and left voicemail's for my adjuster(not sure if that's what she was). She only bothered to call me back once towards the end. I then escalated to her supervisor who then received another 6-10 voicemail's over the course of a week from me with no call back. I finally contacted the manager and she said they just cut me a check (it was my minor sons car) and would send it to me tomorrow. I had been telling them in voicemail's all along that the car was in a shop and they needed to deal with the shop not me. They were trying to totally low ball me and wow me with a check that would have only covered about half the damage. I refused to accept the check and we are currently in limbo while they figure out how to deal with the shop. Thank the Lord I have State Farm... Got the tail of my car completely destroyed (to the point that the trunk is open and inoperable and the car will likely be totaled) by a Legacy customer. Filed a claim the next morning, took 6 days to get a call from an "agent," who then had none of the proper information: wrong phone numbers, no report, no idea who was even in the accident (was asking me for the information on my copy of the Phoenix PD Accident Exchange Information Form. Adjuster comes and takes a few photos, asks a couple questions, and says the agent will have it within an hour but that they are supposed to say it takes three days and to call if I don't hear from them. That was 9 days ago. Now going on three weeks since the accident. Thankfully I have State Farm and they can deal with Legacy. Absolute nonsense. My advice for the budget-conscious: get the cheapest you can under a large carrier - it will serve you better than this. UPDATE: Finally heard back from the adjuster again. Still no contact with the other parties so we cannot proceed with the claim until all damages are accounted for. Car will be totaled but not until then. We wait an see. read more
