Left Coast Quintet did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding! They played prior to the ceremony starting, during the ceremony, and during cocktail hour. They have a long list of songs that they play and they even learned a new one just for us. We had them play Disney music, Harry Potter music during our cocktail hour and our guests loved it! We can't thank Left Coast enough. They made our wedding extra special! read more

Absolutely perfect in every way! Professional. On time, and sounded amazing. We had so many compliments from our wedding guests. Left Coast Quentin is a fantastic choice for a special occasion. read more

We hired Dan and the Left Coast Quintet for our wedding at the Safari Park and we're so happy we did. We hired them for welcome music, procession, recession, and a brief 15 minute cocktail hour. Working with Dan was great - he's super friendly and great at reminding us of deadlines. Choosing our songlist was challenging - especially because the quintet sends over this giant spreadsheet with hundreds of songs that they are able to play.. but luckily they knew the songs to match our general vibe. For the welcome music and cocktail hour, we were looking for broadway/Disney music with special emphasis on musicals/movies that we love. We had specific song requests for the processional and recessional. The Left Coast Quintet handled everything perfectly - they nailed our welcome/cocktail music (and we got so many compliments from guests). We were too busy taking photos to really enjoy it, but I'm pretty sure our best photos were when the quintet played Defying Gravity. The quintet also seamlessly looped Concerning Hobbits during our longer than expected processional which I really appreciated. It's a bit awkward because we never actually talked to the quintet.. they just sort of appeared before our processional and left after our cocktail hour.. Regardless, they did an awesome job and I'm super happy we hired them. Thank you for making our wedding great. read more

Dan & team did a fantastic job at our wedding in Coronado!! Highly recommended. If you are in need of a quintet, you should check them out!

Dan/LCQ team curated and performed the most beautiful ceremony music for our big day. We appreciate their genuine love and dedication to making our ceremony so special and memorable and going above and beyond to learn and play a wind acoustic version of my dream bridal entrance song. LCQ was an integral part in making our wedding day everything I dreamed it would be and more: the ceremony music was beautiful, timeless and unforgettable. Thank you so much for curating the perfect songs and most importantly, for making my very particular request for the "Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful" song (the DREAM bridal entrance song) into a reality. It was perfect. Thank you so much for being a part of our ceremony! read more

I had two high-profile work events that needed music during the cocktail reception. I connected with Dan, and he was amazing to work with. They worked with me to cultivate a playlist that worked for our audience, showed up on time and were professionally dressed, and played beautifully. I highly recommend them for your ceremony or reception. read more

Left Coast Quintet provided music and lighting for my wedding reception at Brick. The lighting added a perfect festive ambiance after sunset. The music helped establish a celebratory vibe as everyone came together to eat and enjoy each other's company. The communication to coordinate beforehand was clear and responsive. Dan came early to set up and test all the equipment to ensure things were ready to run smoothly before guests arrived. I am so appreciative of all his hard work and highly recommend Left Coast Quintet for any event. read more

We hired Dan and team for our wedding in March of this year after seeing all the positive reviews on Yelp, Wedding Wire, etc. Dan was so easy to work with, committed to our event and genuine in making it perfect for us. He was very responsive both via email and phone, reassuring us he was there whenever we needed. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, our event had to be cancelled and as expected, Dan was caring and understanding about the cancellation. We are so sad we will not be able to hear his musicians but hope to reschedule and work with him again in the future. If you are looking for someone to make your event special, definitely consider Dan and team!! You will not be disappointed. read more

Dan was fabulous about coordinating the plan for my wedding and his group arranged all of the music I requested. Everything turned out beautiful during the event and their group just made it even more magical! read more

Having live music for our ceremony was not initially in the plans but my wife really wanted live music and once we talked to Dan at Left Coast Quintet we were sold! From the very beginning Dan was great to work with. He was very responsive, informative, and gave great suggestions based on what kind of ambiance we wanted on our day. Based on what we wanted and talking with Dan we decided to go with hiring a piano/violin duet for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We had very specific music we wanted played and after making our extensive list I looked at all the different, seemingly random, songs and wondered if they would be able to play all our requests. Left coast did not disappoint! They played exactly what we wanted fantastically, which included music from Coldplay to Up from Pixar and everything in between and sounded great! Our guests told us how much they enjoyed the music and it really enhanced the atmosphere of our wedding. I would highly recommend hiring Left Coast Quintet for your live music needs. They provided great customer service, amazing music, listen to your requests and do this all at a very reasonable cost. We are so happy to have had them work with us on our special day. Thank you! read more

To be fair, I am a member of this quintet & that is why I had them play at my wedding! I knew they would provide excellent customer service (Dan is very responsive), that they would customize my song choices (I even had my recessional song arranged special for me!), & that they would sound beautiful!!! They made my special day complete! Thank you Left Coast Quintet! read more

Amazing! My husband and I just got married this past Saturday and we couldn't be any happier with the Quintet. I reached out to Dan a year ago to get my "save the date" in place due to great reviews and wow did they deliver! Guests were very happy with their performance as were we. Dan was so easy to work with, answered all my questions, and absolutely made sure my Disney theme came to life. I would absolutely recommend!! Made our day extra special. Thank you so much. read more

My words cannot express my appreciation for the LCQ. They performed at our friend Jean's memorial...ironically, most of the folks in attendance were musicians. The music was stellar, and the musicianship was perfect (perfection). Although memorials are intrinsically sad, the music made it glorious. We thank the LCQ. If you are considering the LCQ for your event (for events/weddings/memorials), please take my recommendation and hire these terrific musicians. They are incredible! read more

If you are in need of music, book LCQ ASAP! Wait, that didn't convince you? Let me elaborate! Left Coast Quintet was an INCREDIBLE choice for our wedding. Dan and group are highly professional, supremely talented, and easy to work with. We hired LCQ to perform for the wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour of the reception. Their list of music was impressive and included both traditional songs and whimsical choices. For us Disney/jazz fans, the options allowed us to choose unique pieces to fit our personal style. It was beautiful to see our guests (including the children) recognize Rainbow Connection, Edelweiss, We Don't Talk About Bruno, etc. Our only regret we have is not hiring them to perform for the entire reception! We would unequivocally recommend them to anyone who is looking for live music for any event. read more

The Left Coast Quintet was the perfect choice for our wedding ceremony. Wanting to do something different than the average wedding ceremony, we were inspired by Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" that pairs short musical movements with a narrated story. The group's main contact, Dan, was enthusiastic about the idea and graciously spent hours with us over the phone to help us perfectly pair musical selections to each segment of our ceremony from their extremely vast song list across all different genres. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out and continue to receive rave reviews from our guests! read more

My husband and I got married a month ago and we used Dan and his group for our ceremony music. They did not disappoint! They played for about 30 mins before the ceremony while guests arrived and got seated. We decided on fun update music. Dan has a lot of great Disney and other movie theme songs. I asked for 3 specific songs for the procession and then one song for the exit and they played them all flawlessly! I would HIGHLY recommend them for any wedding or event that you need beautiful and classy music at! This group made our wedding ceremony perfect! Thanks so much Dan!!!! read more

We hired the Left Coast Quintet to play for our wedding just before COVID shut everything down in March 2020. We originally booked them for 11/11/20. As I'm sure everyone can relate to, as the date got closer we became less hopeful about things changing and we knew we would need to postpone. We changed our date to July 2021 and then even changed our venue and throughout all of our changes, Dan was flexible, kind and assured us he would be available during our new date. As our date got closer, he offered feedback based on the little information I provided for what we wanted and on our big day the ceremony music was even more amazing than I ever imagined possible. We received numerous compliments from our guests about how great the music was! I also love this picture they snapped of us during our ceremony, it's incredibly special to see how it all looked from their point of view! All in all, I would highly recommend the Left Coast Quintet to anyone who is looking for an extra special touch for their wedding. Dan and his team are professional, courteous and their live music is phenomenal. THANK YOU, DAN!! read more

I loved working with Dan and the crew. They showed up super early to make sure they had the exact location. Sound check was done before guests started arriving and best of all, they were totally self efficient which is key for wedding planners on the day of the wedding. Their music performance was impeccable and so well sort out. Totally took charge and connected with my bride on her music selection. Would highly recommend working with this amazing team over and over again. read more

This amazing group of musicians played both our wedding ceremony and our cocktail hour on the sand at the Bahia Hotel. From the very start they were a joy to work with. Dan was incredibly communicative during the whole process and couldn't have been more pleasant. It's been almost a month since our wedding and our guests are still mentioning how much they loved the music. My friends especially got a kick out of me walking out to the Police Academy theme. Our friends loved hearing music from Jurassic Park, Back to the Future etc. I couldn't possibly recommend this group more for your next event. The music is incredible and the variety of genres they can play is second to none. read more

Incredible! Dan was amazing in helping me gather a string trio with an opera singer that could play a variety of songs for my father's Memorial Service. I had a very specific playlist that, not only did they learn for the occasion, but they did a spectacular job in playing every piece with perfect timing. All of the guests were moved and are still complimenting me on how wonderful the ceremony turned out. Dan is professional and a pleasure to work with. Thank you for making his service so special! read more

Dan and Left Coast Quintet were beyond amazing!! If you are looking for musicians- look no further. They performed during the prelude, ceremony, and cocktail hour of my wedding. Dan was so helpful in helping me pick out more traditional songs for the wedding. For cocktail hour they played more contemporary/ movie classics ( we really wanted to hear Rihanna's "We Found Love" and they hit it out of the park!). I can't recommend them enough!! Thank you SO MUCH Dan for helping us make our wedding day so special!! read more

They were awesome! The music was great and I felt that they definitely elevated the whole wedding. They played all the classics and even made me my own custom arrangement to walk down the aisle to. Then Dan MCed our reception which was a great alternative to getting a DJ. I couldn't recommend them more and I think our wedding guests were really surprised by the whole thing read more

This review is TERRIBLY overdue, however I can not say enough amazing things about Dan and his team. I never post yelp reviews but feel that strongly about dan and left coast Quintet. They played for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on August 31st and were absolutely incredible. Dan was probably the easiest vendor to work with and even more importantly played the most beautiful music. I would HIGHLY recommend them to every bride/ person hosting an event!! Adding Left Coast Quintet to our wedding was one of the greatest decisions we made for our big day. The owner, Dan, is an absolute delight. He is excited about what he does, eager to please, responsive, friendly and professional. We had a guitarist for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and the musician was super talented. Every song we requested was played beautifully. He made a point of coming up to me and thanking me for having the opportunity to play at our wedding-I thought that was so sweet. The music was perfect, they were on time, they were thoughtful and helpful, the cost was insanely affordable. What more could you want? Seriously, they were the best and I can't recommend them enough! read more

We hired the string duet for our garden wedding ceremony, and they were great! We received lots of compliments from our family on the ambience they brought to the event. Working with Dan was also a pleasure. He responded in a timely fashion to all my inquiries. They also have a wide repertoire of music to choose from, so we were able to customize our pre-ceremony, processional, and recessional music to our tastes. They have a lot of popular music, soundtrack, and other non-wedding specific arrangements, so I'd definitely recommend them for any event! read more

A phenomenal group. Skills are bar none. I heard them at a wedding ceremony I attended and they were flawless!!!

I heard them play at a wedding recently and they did great! I didn't think I would ever hear Harry Potter music at a wedding, but they did an amazing job making it perfect for the bride and groom. Clearly they can play a variety of music! I recommend them for events! read more

The Left Coast Quintet is one of the most unique music groups in San Diego. I've heard them play at a house warming party before. A very 60's mod affair with a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. They can adapt and arrange all sorts of music. Let's face it, who hears live music any more? Being able to hire a talented group of musicians to play a wide variety of music is fantastic! I'm getting married soon and plan on hiring them to play for our ceremony. If you have a need to class up any event or holiday party, I highly recommend this group!!! read more
