It's snowing doooown. To the tune of "I'm going down". LeFrak City

I do business in this Elmhurst/Lefrak area. It's pretty urban and I love that I don't even walk one minute before bumping into a store. Everything and I do mean everything is in this area! This review is really about the area LeFrak City is in, more than the apartments because I'm sure folks moving in want a sense of the area right? You're welcome. There's Queens Mall, Queens Center, Rego Center, loads of supermarkets including Aldi, many department stores, a few Starbucks and one gazillion DunkinDs! Restaurants are many and you'd find whatever type of food you're looking for. Sexy lounges, pubs, dive bars. If you don't know now you do. LeFrak/Elmhurst is the 'hood for you. There are several Subway stations but the closest to LeFrak is Woodhaven and 63rd street serviced by the R and M with the E and F on weekends. I've not a regular here later than ten at nights but the few times I was I didn't feel too too worried about being outdoors. However, like any neighbor, be cognizant of your surroundings because the Citizen app has told me some things giiiirl! I like this neighborhood, a lot. The End.

Dog poop ALWAYS in and around the building.

If you are considering moving to LeFrak City **DON'T**, for they rent they charge you will be better off in LIC! Would you believe I've been sending my rent, and, they are pocketing the money without deductioning it from what I owe!!! I called them, I spoke to someone who gave me a BS response! If only we were face to face when he gave me this cockamamie response!!! Yes, I AM GOING TO HIT THEM IN THEIR POCKET! PLEASE, DO NOT COME HERE, IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!

    Garage flooding
    Julie L.

Zero stars is not an option. Live a little better than living on the streets should be the slogan. Second year having to wade through sewage water to get to my car parked in poorly maintained garage. I guess I'm lucky that I discovered the citizen app that notified me about flooding that was happening so I was able move my car before the water enter my engine, like it did last year resulting in a total loss. Tips for living a little better in Lefrak...get an app that sends emergency notifications because ABSOLUTELY no one that works for this organization will bat an eye if you lose property, limb or life but somehow are on top of evictions for shady/unscrupulous reasons. Watch where you step anywhere on this property as dog feces and urine can be found outside as well as within the building--valuable lesson for you're kids to learn so they can live a little better too. Basement apartments undoubtedly sustained water damages once again so benefit/loss ratio definitely applies if considering basement living here. When in need of bathroom services because elevators are unreliable at times (none were running today) and parking is virtually impossible, if you don't have a parking space--Target is less than a 5 minute drive away and queens center mall is less than 2 minutes away (you won't get charged for parking at queens center if you're in and out under 7 minutes). While I could continue enumerating the multitudes of survival techniques (eg: showering with poor water flow, frequent water shut offs, where to get parcels delivered so they're not stolen, et al) that I have picked up over the years of trying to live a little better here, I think this small glimpse should give one a sense of what living a little better is like here. You're welcome!

The rental/leasing department was very helpful and my move in has gone seamlessly with help from superintendents, etc.

How much is the rent on a two bedroom apartment?

About $2900 but it depends on the building, type, and a few other things. They can give you a better estimate from leasing office.

From day one, there is no heat (we recently finally got our heat) , no hot water and no AC. We have contacted the landlord multiple times, but he kepting fooling around and refused to take any action. -The worst part is, when he realized we could move this to legal, he became his crime behavior! He frequently locked the elevator, to block the access to our space; turned off the heat service under 30 degree cold weather to kill people; and kept threatening and cursing our staff. --Then we also found out, his initial contruction was all illegal, there was no permit from DOB, and he used fragile glass to build the wall, which is completely illegel in New York. -We reached out to a few previous tenant, and got ALL bad reviews about Frank. (See the attached). It's clear this landlard has been using the same tactic to conduct illegal behavior. This landlord really shouldn't continue his business, and someone will take him to legal departement for sure. -The building is very gross, garbage througout, of course no maintainese at all. We have been dealing with 7 different landloads in the city and long island, Frank bahar is definitely the worst one and a nightmare to deal with. For your safty, find other real estate agency! STAY AWAY FROM FRANK BAHAR APARTMENTS!!!…read more This man doesn't fix his building. You have to literally stalk him to make him do any repairs to an apartment. His Superintendent is useless, he doesn't fix anything unless Frank gives him permission. The rent goes up every year, but nothing gets fixed. Old appliances get replaced by older patched up appliances. The dishwasher and fridge from the 80's all leak! There is black mold growing on the ceiling and under the floor boards from all the water damage. They don't remove the black mold, they just throw paint over to hide it. The floor boards get damage from all the water leaks, he refuses to fix it so he can take it out of your deposit. Water leaks from light fixtures, which can get pretty dangerous. Lastly, Frank Bahar will rent his apartments to anyone with money including DRUG DEALERS. When we complained about all the traffic and suspicious people coming in and out all day and night, he told us to deal with it ourselves. THIS MAN WILL FIND WAYS TO STEAL YOUR DEPOSIT and demand that you pay him more at the end by blaming you for repairs he didn't make. If you have children stay away from this moldy damp bug infested dangerous hole!

The notation was not very noticeable, and I missed it when I signed the lease. However, I later learned that they did send an email when I signed the lease, just that the email was not very obvious and I missed it. I set up automated payments on their website based on the agreed upon rate, and they did not notify me when the rent was changing. This month, the system sent out notification for late fee, because I paid the old rate. I was very disappointed and disheartened by this and felt being misled. The first representative I spoke to was not very helpful, but later Ms. Reginal took over and was very understanding. I wish they were better at highlighting the changes earlier still, but I was glad that Ms. Reginal was helpful.

I kept feeling walking, talking and all kinds of noise from the floor above me. At 4:11 AM I called 718-786-8780 (front desk), they went to the 46th floor and CONFIRMED there's a group of people partying. The front desk called me back as I requested, to tell me what happened and admitted that there's not enough video surveillance in the amenity area. Although the noise disappeared after 4:30AM, I cannot fall asleep due to interruption. If I didn't call the front desk, I imagine the noise could last until morning. From the start, Anu was kind, helpful, and dedicated. I have dealt with a ton of brokers who lacked care & interest, and were overall unhelpful. From the first conversation with Anu, I could tell he was responsive and genuine with what he does. The process of singing the lease was very quick and easy, and Anu helped me every step of the way. It was my first time renting, so Anu went above and beyond to explain things to me & help me with the move in process as well. I viewed the apartment I'm renting around the last week of July, and by August 1st, the lease was signed. The whole process was painless and easy, all thanks to him.
