I love my well loved Saxophone!

I am so happy and lucky to find Lee's Sax Worx! I love Lee and Don. They are fun, knowledgeable, honest, and just great people. They sell new and previously loved instruments in different price points. All their instruments are in great condition. They found me a perfect student sax to start with. I am planning to practice every day and hopefully graduate to a professional horn in a year or so. I feel good that I bought my sax from someone who understand my needs to help me find the best match. I will have a place to get my sax repaired if needed in the future or to find the best accessories for it. Looking forward to many more visits to Lee's!

well after looking all over town for a saxophone for my son, we stumbled onto lee's sax worx on taravel street. the place is wonderful. lee is a very knowledgeable, friendly & was willing to take the time to understand what i was shopping for. he even asked me to bring my son in to try out the saxophone before we purchased it as it was a sizable purchase. well having done my homework before hand & scouring the city looking for certain types of saxophones, i settled on an american made saxophone by selmer for my son which he had in stock. lee check over this saxophone to make sure it was in good order, he included a case, neck strap, mouth piece, reeds & all the necessary things my son needed to get started at no extra cost. well after playing the saxophone for awhile my son needed a new mouth piece & new reeds per his music instructor, well i took him to lee again & lee helped him out. he let him try several different mouth pieces to see what he liked within the parameters of the music teacher. he does carry the vandoren java reeds, most music shops do not carry these or they offer these only as a special order as they are quite expensive but they were not too expensive here. well soon after a year of playing the saxophone it needed to be re corked, so i took it back to lee. well lee re corked it for me for 25.00 & he serviced the entire saxophone at no extra cost. i have always supported my local businesses as much as i could. lee's is a prime example of how a local business will step up & provide you excellent customer service beyond your local chain & larger independent music store. the service is always friendly & knowledgeable. repair service time is quick & he stands by all his work. lee's sax worx is my only place i will take my business for all my saxophone needs.

Extremely knowledgeable, helpful and patient. This shop offers old school services that you don't find often nowadays.

Lee and Don are fun to be with. And they do excellent work on clarinets. Convenient too. They are close to the post office.

For the record, I WAS a repeat customer -- you worked on both my Yamaha tenor and Selmer Mark VI alto on multiple occasions for close to $1,000 over the three repairs. So claiming you "don't know who I am" isn't just false -- it's telling. You didn't "choose" your customers carefully. You just treated them carelessly until they stopped coming back. And to be clear, your work was never exceptional -- passable at best, certainly not worth the frustration of trying to reach you or the disrespect shown in your reply. I should've listened to the many working pro colleagues of mine around here who steered me elsewhere. Who's arrogant? Many blessings to you.

The phone call was urgent, we were looking to confirm your location as we were on the way. Again, the first time I called, you picked up, said nothing and hung up. Odd behavior for a business owner. So by the time you rejected the 2nd call and sent us to voicemail, you turned us off completely and we chose to explore our other options. Also, it's wild that you're only now responding to a review from 8 months ago. What makes your potential customers think you'll get to a voicemail in a timely manner??

He gave me very valuable exercises to improve my rhythm, speed, and dexterity. I had been playing for 1.5 years before seeing Derek. When I first visited Derek, I had sloppy finger dexterity for soloing and difficulty with certain barre chords. Now I've been playing for 3 years, and I would consider myself an intermediate on the cusp of advanced guitarist. I can solo across the fretboard, play nearly all chords and chord voicings easily, and add percussive elements to my playing. I can play Jack Johnson pretty easily now. I'm currently working on perfecting a red hot chilli peppers song. I doubt I could've progressed this fast without Derek. I was pretty bad at singing when I started. Pretty cringeworthy. I've had roommates and family comment on my improved singing and overall musical ability. Lastly, Derek is kind and easygoing. I felt very at ease in his home. Within 6 months, my voice went from horrible to at least listenable. I appreciate his judgement free zone in his home while singing, which can be a pretty nerve wrecking experience. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend at least trying a few lessons.

Patient and encouraging, he has a great 'yes and' attitude and meets you where you are, building techniques and songs from there. I've brought him lyrics and videos of songs I want to learn on guitar and he has the ability to, on the spot, detect accurate chords and any difference in tuning. I'm working to build a 20 minute performance set list. When I selected Derek, I knew basic chords and nothing about various strumming techniques. In a few short lessons, I've developed my right hand, chord transitions and confidence.
