I choose my barber based on who has availability when I am looking last minute. One such search…read morebrought me here. I can see myself coming back since I really liked my haircut. It's not much to look at outside but the inside is super clean and well lit. I observed that the folks who came seemed to be regulars and happy to be there which is a good sign. My one complaint is that they only do cash and when I paid by Zelle, they tagged $2 though it is a free service.

The outside doesn't look like much, but the Inside brought me back to the days when I was a child. The inside is stuck in a Time warp kind of like back to the future. There are old original signs, depicting men with flat tops on shelves all around the inside there are model, cars, and photos of all time barbers. "Yeah man this is my kind of place" the owner Christine usually only cuts hair by appointments, but she was nice enough to let me in. Christine is super nice, carries on great conversations, and is tentative to how you want your haircut . I felt she did a good job cutting my hair. I will most definitely be back and become a regular customer.

It's not even expensive…read more I wandered into this place while walking downtown Willow Glen, figuring it was time to lean into the baldness and stop looking like a Franciscan monk with a ponytail). I came out of there fully relaxed and fully bald, with a beard that was more "competent adult man" and less "lived in the forest alone for a decade". You remember how your grandfather had a Study? A special room just for him and your dad? It was quiet, smelled nice, and was very definitely a place kids were not allowed to go? Well this is the barbershop that caters to that style. It's small. It's quiet and understated. The waiting chairs are comfortable leather, not special plastic backwards-leg things that the latest yoga magazines rave about. They won't give you a complimentary boba tea or latte, they WILL offer you a cold beer or water, or a slug of good tequila or whiskey. They don't play pop music or the next great hit. They don't play any music at all. Just the snip of scissors, the buzz of clippers, and quiet conversation. It's supremely relaxing. The one thing it needed to be perfection itself is a friendly shop dog to greet customers and get head scritches while your barber does his exemplary work (and it is exemplary), but even without that, this is THE place to get your hair and beard taken care of. This is a BARBER shop, not a stylist parlor. I highly recommend it. Things to note: I was a walk-in, but was lucky enough to come in when there was an open spot. If you pass it often, no problem, but if you're making a special trip, get an appointment. They don't take credit, only cash or payment app (Zelle, etc.). Ask them to get a shop dog when you go in!
