They started a job removing dry rot from our downstairs living room. They replaced a window, multiple floorboards, and replastered a quarter of the room. As well as treating the rot. Timberwise were a nightmare from start to finish. The rot has since been found again in the skirting boards in the same area. 1. They cost a a lot more than other companies 2. They took nearly 2 months to complete a job which should've been done in 1 week 3. We found rot back within 18 months in the same area 4. They were going to charge us £160 just to come out and review what the work they had completed 5. Their surveyor came out and spent 2 minutes looking at it, he failed to assess both the walls and floor boards 6. He said that they had failed to properly finish the job 7. He spoke to a director who refused to honour our guarantee (which is therefore not worth the paper it is written on) and refused to finish the job 8. Now we are left with an incomplete job, visible dry rot in the room, a guarantee which is worthless, and have already had to pointlessly redecorate the room once which cost us £500 Its awful what has happened to our beautiful home. Timberwise are a big corporation who don't treat their staff well at all. They cost alot of money and charge for guarentees that they don't honour. I couldn't help feeling from the beginning that they are only be interested in your money.

Had 4 Windows and 2 French Doors fitted in 2021. In early 2023, the locking system in one window…read moreinexplicably failed. It took 5 calls over 2 weeks before NEO finally accepted liability and sent out a repair team. Less than 3 months later a second locking system has failed in the open position. I cannot close the window securely rendering my home contents insurance null and void. Have called NEO 3 times but each time the become more rude and abrasive suggesting it's not their problem! They have refused to acknowledge my e-mails until I chase them up with more phone calls; they have refused to commit to a repair timescale - actually saying 'I'm not going to commit to a timescale as you will hold me to it' Yes - seriously!!! When I asked for a part number to order a part in myself - they had no idea as they clearly have ignored the detailed information and photographs I have given them. 'If we have to order a part in we will' - so clearly they haven't even checked. Appalling after-sales service; noting that I had 2 neighbours use them on my recommendation and they haven't so much as acknowledged that and clearly are only interested in new business. Do not give them a penny. Appalling.

Spoke directly to the company owner James who explained that it was his company and he would be fitting our job if we decided to go ahead with it. We were very impressed at his professionalism and has certainly got his head screwed on when it comes to business. Some of the things he explained i had never heard of before but we were impressed with what he showed us and his proposal of work. The price was a lot less that we thought and couldn't believe how great the kitchen looked after woods. It now looks like a show home and all supplied fitted and rubbish removed for 1200 pounds. I love a great service and i am happy to recommend anyone that gives me such, so on that basis i would recommend James and Modern Kitchen Makeovers to everyone, it is a great idea he has come up with, and during the economic state as it is its great for people like us who want to improve their home without breaking the bank.
